Great hotel with great hospitality! The hotel is conveniently located, very close to Kanazawa station. The dinner and breakfast were also delicious.

It is not recommended to stay in an old family hotel compared to professional hotels. It feels casual and scrawled. There is no response at the door. The lobby is small and depressing. The old carpets are dirty and not taken care of well. The hygiene is OK. The room is not exquisite. The air-conditioning and sound. Most importantly, both meals at the Ryotei Hotel are . The seasoning is simple and tasteless, just boiled with sugar. 1800 yuan for two meals per person is very, very not worth the 1500 yuan for Kyoritsu Group’s Jiayun. The service and meal quality are much better than this. The private room on the first floor for dinner smells of oily smoke. The order of the dishes is confusing. The breakfast lady works The staff took care of shoes and came to serve food. Based on my poor impression of the hotel, I didn't experience the hot springs. Now I'm staying at Sai no Ting. It's clean, tidy and professional. Kanazawa Tea House can't be compared to the hotel. The staff are older but very responsible, but the management is not good.

Two or three minutes away from Kanazawa Station, the service is very authentic, Japanese-style hospitality, the room is a typical hot spring hotel, the breakfast is also very rich, comfortable bath and rest, very good vacation.

Service: Authentic Japanese style hotel. Not only the appearance, but the service is also quite good. It is the appearance of a Japanese hotel in my impression. Especially the Japanese grandma at dinner time, she is really kind. There is a feeling of elders in the family. Spent three very happy days here. Location: Right next to Kanazawa Station. It's great to have such a good hotel in such a good location. Facilities: Although the building has a history of a hundred years. But there is no problem with the bathroom equipment at all. The room didn't feel dated at all either. Meals: I really don't know how else to describe it other than fantastic. The food is very good every day. I feel overweight.

A superb stay in a modern ryokan. All the traditional service and dining you would hope for, a stone’s throw from the station. The staff were superb - they even clocked our sizes on check-in so my husband’s yukata in the room was 3XL!! Fabulous kaiseki meal and large breakfast. Fresh white bedding. Loved it all!!!

Having never stayed at a ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn, this was an experience that we both thoroughly enjoyed. The Kanazawa Chaya is located a very short 3 min walk from the JR Kanazawa railway station and is easy to find. The Higashichaya Old Town, Kenrokuen Garden, and Omicho Market are also within easy walking distance. The entrance is through a small, landscaped portico area, which makes a perfect visual and mental separation from the streets outside. The lobby is spacious and equally tranquil. The staff were very helpful in explaining (in basic English) the various amenities of the hotel and assisting us through the check-in process. Our room was very spacious, with tatami flooring, sliding shoji paper doors, a delightful tokonoma, and a reasonable western-style bathroom. The low table at the centre of the room, replaced with a futon every night. We were provided a yukata set, comprising a yukata, yukata jacket, obi (belt), and socks. For the uninitiated these traditional garments function as a bathrobe, and loungewear – they can be worn to the onsen, dinner and breakfast, and even to bed as sleepwear. Our stay usually included an elaborate multi-course dinner, kaiseki ryori (Japanese haute cuisine), featuring local and seasonal specialities, and a traditional breakfast in the morning. Alcohol is not included but added to your bill. You will need to confirm the time for dinner and breakfast the day before your meal. We both enjoyed the use of the hotel’s onsen, another first for my wife, it was so refreshing after each day of sightseeing in the area. I would wholeheartedly recommend this ryokan experience to anyone travelling through Japan – we both felt lie treasured guests.

Perfect location by bus/train stations for easy arrival and departure, and it was easy to walk to the main sights around town. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the on-site bath lovely. We enjoyed breakfast so much and were able to walk to many dinner restaurants nearby! Would stay here again!

The Kanazawa Chaya ryokan exceeded all my expectations! I got an issue for my reservation, I talked with the super friendly and nice staff and after some checks they confirmed to me that I could stay for the booked night. The room it is really big, with Japanese tatami and beatiful interior design such as paper lamp and Japanese paintings on the wall. The arrival was really nice and pleasant, with explanation (in basic English) of every amenity of the hotel and room as well, and I got green tea and traditional Japanese sweets. I enjoyed the private onsen that is available for guests for a long time (5 am to midnight), and you can reserve massages as well. The traditional Japanese breakfast dressed with Yukata inside the wonderful restaurant with Japanese paintings is just a great experience with the staff dressed like Geisha style and always smiling at you. I also appreciated the traditional Japanese music during breakfast and the futon was super comfortable! I was seriously impressed by the staff: they are super polite and helpful and allowed me to leave my luggage before checking in as well as after checking out so that I can enjoy visiting Kanazawa. Highly recommended! ありがとうございます!

We stayed here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and to participate in an air show at Komatsu Air Base. The service and room were impeccable, and we especially chose the "Unagi Kaiseki Kirameki" plan for meals, which included eel chirinabe and Kanazawa oden for breakfast, with delicious broth and were more than satisfied. The only thing is that the large communal bath is small, and although we took a bath immediately after checking in, a lively group of about 10 people came in shortly after, so we had to leave early without soaking in the tub, and we were unable to fully relax, so we will give it a minus 1 star. Overall, we were very satisfied and would like to visit again.

Difficult to note: clean, spacious and comfortable rooms with preserved ryokan style. Onsen not tested. Efforts for breakfast which is good and traditional. Negative points: welcoming staff but contradictory instructions to adapt breakfast to an allergy. It's ok at 2 p.m., finally counter-order at 6 p.m., you have to insist and it ultimately doesn't pose a problem - a frankly embarrassing moment, which is rare in Japan. Then when visiting the room: it is not configured for the night even though we arrive late, tired and we had requested it in the morning - 2nd embarrassing moment. Objectively good value for money located right next to the station but a mixed experience.

"Kanazawa Chaya Kappo Tsuzumi" is a restaurant in the Kagaya chain. We used it for a neighborhood association social gathering. Great for daytime drinks!! The "Lunch-only mini-kaiseki" course - 6,050 yen (tax included) includes appetizer, soup, sashimi, grilled food, simmered food, deep-fried food, rice porridge, pickles and dessert. Alcohol is a little on the pricey side. Take the underground passage from the east exit of Kanazawa Station, it's behind the Garden Hotel, less than a 5-minute walk away. If you're looking for a place to eat while sightseeing in Kanazawa, this is recommended. Chefs who lost their jobs in the Noto Peninsula earthquake and others are working hard in Kanazawa.

I went on a family trip with a small child. I'm really glad I chose Kanazawa Ryokan. First of all, when we arrived in the lobby, they cared for our children and spoke to us kindly, and they also cared for us as they proceeded with the procedures. At dinner time, they took care of children's chairs and allowed them to eat while they were eating, which made for a pleasant stay throughout. We had half board, but the food was delicious and everything was fresh, and the portions were extremely generous, making it a very satisfying stay. The location is also very good. I would love to see you again.
