The windows could be cleaned from time to time. The same goes for the hallway, where pigeons nest on the ledge and the windows are dirty. The hotel has a dingy character, which the entrance area also contributes to. The bathroom should have a brush for the toilet. The towels should be checked for residue before being placed; some of them looked very dirty, with indefinable stains. If a kettle and packaged coffee powder (old) are provided, perhaps a bottle of mineral water should also be provided for the price. The breakfast was nothing, the price was excessive. I suspect the scrambled eggs were made of powder, the sausages were old (fried a long time ago), hard. Bacon too, with cold white fat residue. Everything was cold anyway. Otherwise there was no cheese or slices of sausage. On the second day it was probably the leftover sausages and bacon etc. from the day before. The only thing that was OK was the coffee machine.

The location and sanitation are very good, that is, the furniture is a bit less, and there is no place to put things. In addition, the hotel displayed an address on the webpage. At the front desk, it was said that it was not their order. It was an order for another address. It was about 100 meters across a street, pushing four suitcases.... Imagine how painful it is. Later, I stayed for two nights, and the same path was booked. This time it was right. I needed to push the big bag to the first hotel. After the negotiation, I didn’t change the hotel. I want to say, please Ctrip and the agent confirm the address, do not let the user get the false information, thank you

I used to work for Shell, and so visited what was then known as The Lensbury Club many times. We booked The Lensbury Resort in a fit of nostalgia. Not much has changed in the 30 years or so since I last visited. The rooms are comfortable and our Deluxe Double was quite spacious, with a large sofa, plenty of wardrobe space and a modern bathroom that included a nice bath as well as a large shower cubicle. On the downside, the main dining area is cavernous and little has been done to make it feel more inviting. The food is quite average and the chef has made some odd choices: for dinner, the Thai cauliflower & chickpea curry is more Indian than Thai and had little flavour. The lamp rump was tasty. The ”hot chocolate with whipped cream” came with no whipped cream and when we asked, we were told there was no whipped cream. Most bizarrely, from the lunch menu the BLT was seasoned with a mountain of thyme in the mayonnaise - a very odd combination and not one that works at all well. It's also annoying to be reminded more than once that ”service charge is not included.” The pool is OK but there were a lot of young children at the weekend so not particularly enjoyable for swimming lengths when you have to avoid kids bombing into the pool. The piece de resistance though was being woken up at about 4am when some new arrivals tried to get into our room. They tried more than once even though we answered the door and told them it was our room. They showed us their key and it had indeed been noted with the same room number as we were in. After that we were also visited by security who clearly thought we were lying about it being our room. We mentioned it at check-out and were told to complain in writing.

What a great find in the heart of Twickenham next to the river Thames and walking distance to shops and restaurants, and also discovering that there's over 30 of the same type as part of the pub group. Unlike many of the larger sterile hotels, this pub/hotel had a homely look and feel, and the atmosphere and restaurant and bar was just what you'd find if it were your local pub. The room was fantastically supplied with a fridge, with snacks and alcohol, satellite TV, big comfy beds, great modern shower. Having stayed in over 175 rooms this year alone on business, the Alexander Pope ranks up there in my top 5 and the price was excellent. will definitely stay again when in the area

Stayed here for 5 nights (Sep 17-22). Check in was the better part: easy and friendly front desk although no acknowledgment of being a Bonvoy member (not big deal). However, I forgot to ask, and they did not give me the WiFi code; more on that later. Room was fine upon entering. But then started to notice things: dead light bulb, dust on the nightstands, top of the desk with peeled skin (wear and tear), and of course the TV. Now that is something from the 1990s: a 30 inch old TV, grainy picture, and a very limited number of channel with only BBC and a couple showing very old movies from 1980s. You can only watch SkySports at the bar but not in the room. The next day I ended up taking a shower in a puddle as the tub did not drain well. I told the front desk and the staff who happened to be the manager took very good notes and said he’d have it fixed right away. Well, after coming back in the evening, I checked the tub and sure enough still clogged so went down to the front desk and another staff member (appeared very embarrassed) spent a few minutes and then offered to change the room. So, after about 30 min fiddling with the reservation system on their computer we moved into another room. For some odd reason my 5-day visit was done under two reservations: 4 days as one and the last day as another one. On the 4th day reception called to move me into a suite due to the 2nd reservation. I talked to the Front Desk staff and offered that staying at the same room for the same rate was fine. The junior staff agreed as the room was available and started processing but then ran into a problem on their computer system. He asked his manager for help and he promptly rushed by, summarily waved his hand, completely ignored my presence, mumbled something like “it can’t be done,” and walked away. The junior staff was clearly embarrassed and apologized and said he'd ask another hotel manager to keep me in the same room. I asked for the manager’s name (Lloyd) and said that his behavior was rude, not professional, and not that of somebody in the hospitality business. Lloyd showed up after the room situation was resolved and apologized for his behavior. Frankly, nobody needs drama, disrespect, and being treated like a nobody. After all, I was a paying guest and a long time Marriott member!! New room was a copy of the old room except the drain was not clogged. Then the next day I noticed the bathroom bulb was dead. Called the Front Desk from room, but nobody would pick up. Within a span of 30 min I called several times but nobody would pick up, so I walked down to report it to the Front Desk. Problem was solved next day. And now the WiFi: could not find the WiFi code so later called the Front Desk but again nobody would pick up. Another in person trip down to the Front Desk and asked why they wouldn’t pick up. Answer: oh, we didn’t see the phone ring! During the entire stay the corridor on our floor always had a minimum of 3 room servi

The first time we ever had a short break away here was in 2012 and it was amazing. On arrival, we were checked in by a person who gave us wristbands and told us everything we needed to know about early park access, breakfast check in, times, and everything you needed to know. We also had access to the walk around the zebra and giraffe (and the other animals) enclosures after the park had closed. Which was amazing. This time around it was completely different. We had to check ourselves in, which also cost an additional £15 for room keys. (which you do have back once you check out) No one behind the counter had informed us that some things had changed, so we went about things like it was back in 2012. On the second day, the day we were supposed to be granted 1 hour early in the park the early access gate was closed and locked. We decided to try the main entrance and after fighting our way to the front of the main entrance and trying to explain to staff that our entrance was closed, we still had to argue with one of the staff members to gain access. By the time we got to someone who was willing to let us in they were letting the public in anyway. So we lost our early access. The park was amazing the staff there were lovely and the rides were great and we really did have a cracking day. At the end of the day when the park had closed, we decided to go back to the hotel and change so we could enjoy the walk among the zebras and other animals. But again, the gate was closed and locked. I went to ask a member of staff on the main desk what was going on and why the gate was locked both times we attempted to use it and was informed that they don't allow hotel guests to have that privilege anymore. I was very disheartened by all this and this probably could have been avoided if we were informed during check in like we were in 2012. I get that it may be easier for some people but why am I doing hotel receptions jobs for them by checking us all in and trying to scramble the Internet and my email inbox to try and find out information. Everything else is fantastic and I really do love this place. They just need to make more effort to inform people about their stay and not just lump us with 100's of emails and expect us to go through them all for one tiny piece of information they could have easily told us in person.

Just leaving Holiday Inn Sutton and have had a truly wonderful stay. This hotel was used as a base for exploring London and surrounding areas and can't recommend highly enough. Ok we're not talking 5 star luxury, but if you're looking for that common sense should tell you to book elsewhere. However if you're looking for CLEAN (so important) and comfort with EXCELLENT staff then this will be for you! Staff are honestly some of the best I've encountered (even in 5 star hotels) and I don't say that lightly. Restaurant, front desk, housekeeping, health club all an absolute credit to the hotel and brand. Thank you. Nothing was to much trouble and you made our stay really great. It's the morning and evening acknowledements and friendly vibe and all the little touches that really do go a long way. We'll be back and would highly recommend this hotel and if there's a way to reward staff on duty 27th-29th August 2022 please do :)

I don’t usually stay in Ibis hotels but this one is like no other ibis hotel I’ve stayed at. From the laid back informal reception area to the contemporary rooms this was a good overnight stay. I appreciated the welcome cookies. The room was spacious but clearly designed for short stays in regards to storage space. There’s USB ports by the bedside. The bathroom has a shower, no bath and good to see the body soap and shampoo in dispensers rather than individual plastic bottles. The water though was only luke warm. The Wi-Fi signal was excellent. Location is excellent in the centre of town and just a few minutes walk to the station. The restaurant menu was limited but adequate for most tastes. My only complaint was the pulsing noise of the bathroom extractor fan which is independent of the air conditioning in the room and not able to switch off.

Although I reviewed this hotel back in June, I thought I would give an update on our last, and definitely final, visit to this hotel. In July we stayed at the Sheraton for one night and parked our car at the hotel for 3 weeks. After midnight, when we had gone to bed, we heard a high powered car being revved and raced around the car park. Yes, someone was using the car park as a race track, using the cars parked there as the edges of the track! Someone else was taking pictures on their mobile phone. We contacted reception, who sent out a security guard and another member of staff. They, however, obviously knew the people racing the car and had a good laugh and joke with them before returning to the hotel, leaving the racers still revving their car and taking photos. I took photos too (attached). My wife was incensed by this total lack of interest from the hotel, and stormed down to reception. One of the people who had gone out to the car was there, plus the duty manager looking rather sheepish. They apologised with a grin on their faces and seemed to think that it was totally acceptable to them that this was going on as the people racing the car were members of staff!!! An incredible attitude. And it was obvious from their reaction that this was not a first time occurrence. Realising that we weren't going to get anywhere with the totally useless members of staff, and as by now the racers had left, we decided to raise the problems with a senior member of staff the following day. A couple of the managers we spoke to on the following day were disgusted at what had happened the previous night. Unfortunately they had already handed in their resignation as they weren't happy with the way the hotel is being run. So decide if you're happy to leave your car at a hotel that condones its staff using the car park as a race track and what damage they could do to your car. Remember, any damage to your car is not the responsibility of the hotel, even if it's their own staff who have caused the damage! Please read the other reviews regarding cars being damaged at this Hotel. I posted a review on the Marriott website and received a very defensive response from the front desk duty manager. She apologised for the fact that staff were racing cars in the car park but didn't seem to really take it seriously. This experience, combined with the non-working air conditioning in the bedrooms, the tvs in the bedrooms that often don't work, the gaffer-taped tatty old carpeting in the hallways, the scruffy pool area that is hardly ever swept clean, the downgraded quality of the Club Lounge and the withdrawal of the Club concierge service seems to be indicative of a company seeking to justify changing the branding of this hotel to one of Marriotts budget brands. However, they're still charging 4 star prices for a hotel that now struggles to give one star service. Shame on you Marriott for ruining a formerly very good quality hotel. Lastly, I expect to receive a very bland re

GGuest UserI booked the hotel through secret escapes as a surprise for my wife’s birthday,on arrival she commented how lovely the hotel was,we was early so we went into town, when we got back, we were given the keys to one of the cottage rooms ,we were very disappointed to have paid so much for our stay and to have been put in an accessible room (disabled) when there were clearly other rooms available. We were tired after our drive and walk out so we got showered and went for a drink in the bar,my wife asked for a cocktail and the bartender said he hadn’t had the training yet but made one for her anyway,he then left the bar and another young bartender came over and was talking to us about the hotel etc and a senior gentleman came over and said to him, come with me I want you to do something else, this was as I was about to order my drink and half way through conversation with him,so we got up and went in for dinner,we ordered a bottle of Sauvignon for around £32, the waiter put it in the ice bucket with lid on and walked away, surely I should of been asked to taste the wine,we then had to pour our own drinks for the rest of dinner, the wine itself was very poor and not worth the money paid,I’m not normally one to moan but I think £262 for a night in an accessible room for my wife’s birthday wasn’t good enough, the staff at the reception were excellent but waiters at dinner need to brush up on there service skills ,even at breakfast,we were asked if we wanted tea or coffee and had to remind the young lady 3 times as she kept forgetting

NNINGAfter living in London for 5 days, I decided to go to Kingston for a day before returning to the country. I got off at Surbiton Station and across the road was the hotel. Special praise for dining, breakfast choices are better than many four-star hotels in London. There is also a discount of happy hour from 5 to 8 in the evening. The sommelier service is very attentive and polite, and the standard of food is quite good. In short, very high cost performance.
