"I stayed in a basement twin room for less than 250 per person. It had a window (which couldn't be opened) and there was a faint vibration sound from outside machinery. The room was definitely not in 'battle-damaged' mode anymore; the walls were painted, and mine had a fig theme. Overall, I was very satisfied with the hotel; the atmosphere and service were excellent. All the staff I encountered were consistently warm and patient.
Breakfast: It was at a bakery. The bread, supposedly among the top 12, was decent but nothing special, and the coffee was just okay. Dinner was a buffet, which I booked myself on Jalan. I particularly enjoyed the tuna sashimi, roasted beef, and tempura. Overall, it offered good value for money.
Location: During cherry blossom season, I couldn't get a spot on the complimentary hotel shuttle bus. So, I walked to Hirabarugaoka Park, which involved a 25-minute uphill climb. It was quite a workout for the legs, but catching the full bloom made it totally worth it. Getting to other attractions from the hotel by bus was convenient, but during evening rush hour, buses could be crowded and might run late."
