Hotels near Ao Noi Na in Koh Samet

We stayed for 4 nights here. The location was pretty good and we were right on a beach, which made it nice for swimming. They do have a great pool too. It wasn't overly busy when we were there. But there were large groups coming and going, but they weren't that noisy. The breakfast is basic, but you do get to sit out and have a fantastic view looking out over the bay. The only problem I really had with our stay was the tap water, there was a slight discoloration. I didn't drink from the tap anyways and also had bottled water. It is relatively private too. Our room was spacious enough and we could sit outside on the balcony. For me it was relaxing and in a good location. The staff were very friendly and happy to help.

The hotel has mini villa type rooms, each with a good-sized balcony to enjoy the beautiful foliage planted all around. The rooms are large, airy, sp****, and super clean. Bathroom size is good too, and all amenities are provided. The bed is one of the softest ones I've ever slept on. Absolutely loved it! Check-in and check-out was smooth, the staff is warm. There's a shortcut which takes you to the main Sai Kaew Beach in a minute's walk. It is also easily walkable (15 mins) from the main ferry pier (Nuan Thip). The hotel did not have a restaurant yet (which we knew before booking), but I did see some construction going on, so they could be adding one in the future, But there's plenty of restaurants on the beach, so no worries there. We had an immensely satisfactory and comfortable stay. Would recommend to all travelers.

We stayed at the Ploy Sea a couple of weeks ago for 3 nights. The hotel was fairly quiet and so they very kindly upgraded our room to a sea view. Staff were very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. In particular a lady who worked on the front desk called Ratchadaporn. She was amazing and helped us so much. The food in the restaurant was a good standard with plenty of choice and the sea front was just idillic. Looking forward to returning again soon.

I’ll start by saying that the hotel’s surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful. The beach is one of the best on the island - clean and tranquil. It made spending time in the hotel a delight. And overall, we had a really memorable time - which was enhanced by exploring the island on motorbikes every day (which you can rent from the hotel). However, there are a number of areas where there could be significant scope for improvement and which, if improved, could make this a much better class of hotel. These are primarily: 1. There was repeated miscommunication with the hotel staff, who generally-speaking (with the exception of one or two receptionists) have poor English. It would of course be unreasonable to expect everyone to speak perfect English; that’s not my criticism here. But what I will say is that a lack of common language between us and the hotel staff made asking questions, even simple ones, about our trip difficult and led to mistakes. 2. The food is really poor at the hotel restaurant, Breeze. We had expensive Thai food which was inedible in part and the only bad meal which we have had during our two week stay in Thailand. Until improved, I’d suggest going to other restaurants on the island - Banana Bar is a real highlight. 3. The rooms which we were first shown to were unacceptably far away from the main hotel and up a number of flights of steps. We asked to change and were moved with no questions asked, which was a great result for us. We thought the hotel dealt with that issue brilliantly. We wondered how often they had encountered this issue having shown people to those rooms. And to be honest, those rooms shouldn’t really be hired out at all unless it is for a serious discount and it’s made clear to guests when they book. 4. Parts of the hotel feel unloved and a bit neglected to be honest - I don’t want to be too harsh here as it may be that the hotelier hasn’t been able to put as much money back into the resort following COVID and it’s aftermath. In particular, the room showers could do with an update. And generally there is an outdated feel to the hotel which could do with being modernised - the furniture in the common parts, the shower by the pool, etc. For the reasons above and taking into account the price paid for our stay, I would give Ao Prao three stars, but my lasting feeling is that with a bit more money, love and attention to detail, it could become a four or five star in the future.

I booked this hotel online while I was in Bangkok. My parents and I had the best time at this resort. The rooms are very clean and spacious. There is a lot of beautiful green and lush vegetation around the resort. My parents who are elderly had a difficult time staying on the second floor of this resort. And the couple that owns the resort were so nice that they gave us a large room on the mail floor. The owners were a wealth of information and they helped us rent a taxi and gave us all the information for visiting the island which is nearby. The beach is literally across the road from this resort. My parents and I would have breakfast and the resort and then go cross the road and took us sixty seconds to go the beach! The resort is quiet but very safe. There are a lot of families around and people are out at night. And the few restaurants that are near the resort are very busy. It was the most quiet and peaceful stay I have ever had at a resort (and I have travelled extensively). One night I became sick and had an allergic reaction and the owner of the resort drove me to the hospital. You cannot meet nicer people then the couple who own this resort. They are the kindest and most nicest people I ever met. I was fine though after the hospital and the owner stayed with my parents and I till it was time to drive us home. I will never forget the owners and this resort!!! I am hoping to visit Rayong next year again and I am going to stay at the Mukmai Villa. The owners made my parents and I stay such a pleasant and beautiful experience. Please do not hesitate to stay here. The owners will take good care of you!!!

Returned to Koh Samed again two years since Covid pandemic.The island resorts and businesses have been totally decimated by Covid.I stayed Vongduean beach and apart from a few Thais there was absolutely nobody there.I felt so sorry for the locals as they’ve had hardly any business for two years. On previous visits I’ve stayed in the beach bungalows but over BT3000 a night I stayed in the newer block of rooms overlooking the pool.Surprised they’ve kept the same prices as most hotels seem to be about 50% cheaper than normal due to lack of customers. The beach and the sea are wonderful with crisp white sand and azure coloured clear sea. As the resort is very quiet there we’re just a few staff.Breakfast is the usual egg station,fruit,bacon,sausage,Thai porridge plus tea and coffee set overlooking the sea. It’s a fantastic place for couples or family holidays but in my opinion the prices are far to high at present. NB To gain access to ferry/speedboat crossing to Koh Samed a negative Antigen test is required which you will be taken by side car from ferry port to local clinic takes about 20 minutes before you’re allowed to cross to Koh Samed. Overall beautiful island an hours taxi ride from Pattaya but rooms far too expensive.

Sai Kaew Hotel has been staying for many times. Every time I come, I have never closed the palace. Whether it's service, the staff are polite and well-mannered. The room is spacious, clean, and the facilities in the room are also provided. Unfortunately, it's convenient to travel anywhere, whether going to 7/11 or going to a restaurant, very convenient, especially the hotel on the beach, so walking down from the room and reaching the beach front this time, bring the kids, the kids like it very much. Samet will stay at this hotel again. room price as well

First, I chose Koh Samet because I asked a local Thailand friend which island has not been overdeveloped since my early days coming to Thailand in the 1990s. His response was ”head to Koh Samet”. I looked for a value hotel on one of the more southern, less developed beaches which led me to Wong Duean Bay and the Vongdeuan Resort. The pool was a big draw. With the low tide being pretty extreme, it is really nice to have the salt water pool to cool off in and swim laps. The food seemed pretty authentic to me. With mainly Thai visitors coming in on the weekends it figures the food would be good at the Vongdeuan Resort. :) The staff were wonderful and always so fun to share a story or two with. The beach area all along the bay was extremely clean with no plastic on the beach or garbage in the water. This is a big plus when going to the shore in SE Asian countries. There are several beach restaurants but none of them had loud music, at least during the weekdays when I was there. It is definitely a sleepy and peaceful place to enjoy the water at high tide as well as the white sand beach for walks.

We stayed for 3 nights as a walk-in paying just over 1000THB per night on a holiday weekend. (Budget rooms available for 800THB). Our room was large, with a nice balcony looking onto the gardens, Good air con and a big wetroom bathroom with warm water shower. The bed was large and comfortable with crisp, freshly laundered sheets. The whole place is spotlessly clean- the friendly girl who runs the place does an excellent job, she’s always buzzing around, cleaning and sweeping. The hotel is around 3 mins walk to a lovely white sand beach along a quiet path. You’re not on the beachfront but getting there is still a ‘shoes off’ experience and you’re paying half the price you will for a beachfront hotel. It was a holiday weekend when we stayed with lots of Thai party goers hitting the karaoke hard which sounded like cats being tortured. We were thankful to be further away from the bars and restaurants and had quiet nights here. Wong Deuan beach is lovely but there is less infrastructure here than at Sai Kaew village and consequently prices at bars and restaurants are higher. We tended to walk over to the next bay Ao Cho where there are a couple of slightly cheaper reggae bars. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the beaches and would fully recommend Bell House as a place to stay.
