We had a wonderful time with our family of 4 at Ishibekoji Muan, discovering Kyoto for the first time. The service was excellent, feeling as special guests with all the personalized attention provided by the amazing team. The house was not only well located (close to main see sighting location in the traditional district) but provided also an incredible comfort with high end Japanese furniture and equipment. Ishibekoji Muan is a gem. We will come back for sure. Thank you Muan team for an unforgettable experience.

The location of the hotel is stunning. With beautiful architecture, clean and quiet streets, it’s the perfect hideout. The hotel staff are incredibly kind and helpful. The room was perfect and the private onsen was much needed after a long day! Beautiful hotel 😊

Very unique Japanese hotel
The downside is that the check-out is very early
The location is very good, right here in Kiyomizu Temple Flower Street, very quiet
Very suitable for taking photos

6k a night is not worth it. It is inconvenient to carry a heavy suitcase. There is no floor heating in the sleeping area. The floor heating is in the toilet and living room. The service is good. The female receptionist directly carried the 50-pound suitcase to the second floor. I admire it. The breakfast is not very exquisite. 6k per night for 3 people feels very expensive.

Exquisite experience
We had an incredible experience at this beautiful ryokan: private, serene & calm: the kind of Kyoto experience we were hoping for. The futons/pillows/linens were very comfortable, & the bathroom was beautiful. The room was filled with thoughtful amenities: green tea, Nespresso pods, rice crackers, soaking salts for the bath, etc. The staff took such good care of us & made us feel so cared for. They helped us with dinner reservations, made wonderful recommendations for meals & bars, & accepted our luggage for an early arrival - all of which helped to make our stay stress-free. We had the traditional Japanese breakfast, which was delicious. We recommend this hotel without reserve & can't wait to come back.
