I was a little hesitant to book this hotel with it being on a service station- how wrong I was. Absolute gem of a place, hotel room was lovely, quiet and clean. Free parking and a 15 minute drive into Leeds. Next door in the service station there is Starbucks, Leon, pizza express, Nando’s, Greggs, M&S etc. will definitely stay again.

Front desk welcome was poor. No good evening, no smile, just head down and check in.
I paid £72 for 1 night and £140 for another. £72 is reasonable for the hotel, £140 is far too much for this standard of hotel.
Basic breakfast, not much of a vibe in the place and the reception area was cold.

For me, Leeds is one of the transit points, there are parking meters outside the hotel, very convenient. The room has sufficient heating. Since the weather outside is very cold and rainy, I got completely wet and wanted a hot drink to warm up. The hotel staff kindly provided me with a cup of a hot drink, which was very thoughtful. It’s a great hotel in Leeds.

Good location next to train station - due to ongoing building works at the train station it’s easiest/quicker to get to the hotel near the entrance/exit closest to platform 16 (I ply found this out after walking the long way round 🤦♀️).
Refurbished room was nice. Bath was small. Would opt for walk-in shower next time. Temperature too warm but staff provided a fan on request.
Double bed fine for a solo traveller. Wouldn’t have been too comfortable for two.
No radio in room or on TV which would have been nice.
Robes, slippers, tea/coffee making facilities, iron and hair fro provided.
Breakfast - good selection for hot and cold breakfast options. Would be nice to have better decaf coffee.
Newly renovated lobby area was nice. Perfume smell wafted into breakfast room and was a bit overpowering at times. That being said the ground floor entrance doesn’t smell good (you’ll get over it) so I can see why this is needed.
Newly renovated lobby/bar area is nice.
Staff were welcoming and helpful.
Overall I had a pleasant stay and I would stay here again as a solo traveller. If I was travelling with another adult we would require a larger bed to ensure a more comfortable rest/sleep so possibly an upgrade or a second room would be needed.

Great hotel although the pool was full with children. There was a slight issue on check in where the hotel didn’t know that I had pre paid but that was quickly sorted! Breakfast was great and the tea and coffee in the room was fab! Beds are really comfortable and it was easy to cast your phone to the tv.

Outstanding
GGuest UserIt's a very old century-old store. The rooms are very traditional in European style. You feel like you've traveled through history when you stay there. The restaurant is not self-service, but there are suites to choose from. There are also service staff who can speak Chinese. The road is being built in front of the door and parking is not available. Convenient and worth a try.
GGuest UserJust across the road from the train station so ideally located in the city centre. Check in is real easy and the staff very friendly and helpful. Not that I watched the TV but they have decent sized TV's in the rooms too...
MMary DianeGood place to stay on A1. Not so busy as other service station areas but useful shops such as George's, Costa, M&S, etc. Wyndham Days Inn has nice rooms, good showers. But used to do early breakfast 6.30 and now starting breakfast after 7 which is not so good if you want an early start
GGuest UserBeauitful hotel, very clean. The room was big and clean. The facilities provided are everything you can ask for. Brilliant location very central to city centre. Excellent location to train station. Staff are very friendly, helpful, and polite. Breakfast was very tasty. Lots of selection from conitendal to hot food. Would highly recommend paying the extra to stay at The Queens.
GGuest UserThis is our third stay this year ,purely for pleasure,we love it here ,staff are always lovely, room is always spotless, stayed for two nights, first morning the hot breakfast was made to order ,it was huge and delicious,we can’t wait to book again as we won’t stay any where else
GGuest UserGood facilities. Ask at desk for local taxi number, which was cheaper than Uber. Good bar and restaurant. Ground floor rooms which were quiet. Lift.
KkrystalThe location in the heart of the city was great and easily accessible. The top floor was assigned to me since I asked for a quiet room. The space was spacious. Instead of using central heating, they supplied a standalone heater. You can also change the temperature on your own. But don't forget to bring your toothbrushes.
GGuest UserThe customer service we were given at the reception was terrible, there was no customer care at all, the lady was telling us to look for another hotel because we had just asked why we need to leave our card security features? Thats crazy!
HHollandI have stayed at the hotel so long it's clear that it feels like home and I can honestly they they don't go less than above and beyond to help you feel at ease and at home I have not one complaint to make other than, can't you just let me live there guys xx 🥰
Helen on the desk is one of the loveliest people you'll probably encounter and if there's an issue they try their best to deal with it in a favourable manner so that you don't feel awkward or embarrassed, well once they know you better, you'll have to remember how many people they all deal with minute by minute and they aren't all reasonable, understanding or rationale but they all seem to keep their cool and keep a light humour to the situation which is lovely xx
WWhiteJohnThis was definitely a mixed visit. On arrival we were checked in quite quickly receptionist was firmly enough although the reception desk itself seemed more like an information hub then a check in desk so the initial walk in was a bit confusing for me and my partner who don't stay in many hotels.. the one main thing that I noticed in the reception area is just through a set of double doors towards what would seem to be a fitness studio with an overlook of the pool had a chair with quite a nasty looking stain picture included. On arrival into the room things seemed clean tidy and presentable although there were a couple of things that could have been better for example one normal sized towel and 3 hand towels wasn't great and 2 towels would have been better, the toilet roll was very basic and clearly the cheaper stuff which you wouldn't so much expect when staying at a village hotel, there was a tile missing on the bathroom floor with a questionable amount of dust and dirt inside and around this hole and finally the doorframe seemed to be hanging off pictures of this are included. We had a look at the restraunt menu and it's safe to day if you don't fancy a burger, salad or chicken wings you will have to make other arrangements as we did by visiting the local residence 74 cafe about a mile away where we had a lovely time great food and a reasonable meal price. The bar is quite an open space and at first a bit confusing as there are some cinema chairs and big tvs but only playing the news. We had a drink I'm the evening this was probably priced for the venue but at £15 for a single vodka and lemonade and a double whisky we decided on only one when we found out that the bar closed for residents at 11pm which we found a bit early as other places stay open for residents. Room service would have been an option but from what I read this finished at 9.30pm and the is no in room phone to order such. Sleep was comfortable and sheets were clean it was just very hot as the window barely opens, there was no fan provided and no aircon. The TV also says its an Internet TV but upon attempt of connection no services were available. This morning the hotel seemed alot calmer and relaxed, we weren't sure of the breakfast procedures at all so we just sat down and were asked our room number but my partner got quite frustrated as she is autistic and no clear instructions were given it took us a while to source out breakfast and when we did we noticed it was very limited consisting of mushroom scrambled egg starnge potato circles beans tomatoes sausage and bacon. Honestly for me hash Brown's and black pudding are staples of English breakfast and should always be included when possible but unfortunately they were unavailable. I was going to ask a staff member but only one was seen briefly. There was also a High table next to us that was very dirty and when the staff member went to clean she simply sprayed it didn't wipe it and moved on, this didn't seem very hygienic. Breakfast was very average the addition of streaky bacon and chipolata sausages as opposed to tradition thick sausages and back bacon seemed very odd and definitely not our cup of tea! Coffee was not good atall however they do have a starbucks with is great because we do enjoy it. The night receptionist seemed to keeping a very close on me without speaking I found this quite lntimidating as a hotel guest and would have preferred him to ask me any concerns he had other than staring at me until I awkwardly said hello in which he just smiled and looked away briefly until I did then followed me with his eyes towards the stairs and no doubt watched me on camera until I entered my room. Overall a fair experience perfect I guess if you just need a quick room and have to extra money to burn but not ideal for us so probably wouldn't return.
