A cherished landmark just steps from Cusco’s lively central square, Monasterio, A Belmond Hotel, Cusco, is built on the foundations of an ancient Inca palace. Graceful archways, an exceptional art collection and a gilded chapel are among the restored monastery’s treasures, while OQRE Restaurant and atmospheric cloisters overlooking the leafy courtyard set the scene for unforgettable dining and candlelit opera evenings. Guests can also enjoy perks such as a roundtrip airport transfer (surcharge), express check-out, wedding services, an elevator, reception hall, porter/bellhop, meeting rooms, and luggage storage. Guest reviews speak highly of the helpful staff. All 117 rooms feature comforts such as 24-hour room service and premium bedding, along with pillow menus and laptop-friendly workspaces. Extra conveniences include bathrooms with free toiletries and hair dryers, 32-inch HDTVs with satellite channels, wardrobes/closets, coffee/tea makers, and heating.

"Belmond Monasterio: The Best Hotel in Cusco, Beyond Any Comparison Without exaggeration, Belmond Monasterio is the best hotel in Cusco. Even after trying two other higher-priced Belmond properties and the JW Marriott, I still firmly believe this is the ultimate choice. The beauty of this hotel is beyond words. The elegant public spaces and tranquil gardens create an atmosphere of timeless serenity. The classic, historic walls whisper stories of the past, while the dazzling golden chapel adds a breathtaking sense of grandeur. Every detail is a masterpiece. Yet, what truly sets Belmond Monasterio apart is its service. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Their service attitude is impeccable—perhaps the best in South America. A prime example: when I lost my credit card, they found it and returned it promptly. Compared to the Los Cabos Waldorf (which I mention due to its premium pricing), this hotel’s service is on another level—infinitely more personal, thoughtful, and heartfelt. I would love to give special recognition to my butler, though unfortunately, I have forgotten his name. In short, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Endless love for Belmond Monasterio."

"There’s a baby alpaca that works in the courtyard! The hotel is nice and clean and all the staff are friendly and helpful. The only drawback is it’s slightly further from the main square, but it’s not too bad if you enjoy strolling through the city. The location is closer to the more local part of Cusco so the restaurants nearby have more Peruvian fare, highly recommend!"
