What stood out most was how genuine and caring everyone was. Nothing felt rushed, and the whole experience felt very personal and thoughtful. "I used it when I traveled with 3 friends! It's a place where you can heal with plenty of nature, but the location was good because you can go to the rice shop as soon as you take a taxi. I wore it without hesitation because there was a sign nearby. The most impressive thing was the kindness of the owner! I arrived late at night, but he welcomed me very warmly without a disgusting face. The tea that was served for free on my way home was really delicious. The room was great, and even if we stayed for 3 people, there was a fluffy bed for each person! It was cool at night and I could sleep well, and the water area I was worried about was usually clean and there was no problem at all. Anyway, the owner's personality was nice and it was an inn that I would definitely want to stay again!"

"This hotel is really beyond our expectations. It was dark when we arrived. The hotel staff greeted us at the door. Everyone was smiling and the service was very good. The hotel is surrounded by forests and has an excellent original environment. The rooms are very large and the hygiene is also very good. Breakfast and dinner are also delicious with different choices. When we woke up in the morning, we could hear the peacocks calling and we saw cute monkeys. I highly recommend this hotel!!!"

"Beautiful entrance and outdoor reception. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean and spacious room. Working safe and large bathroom, ac working effectively. Restaurant good and bar area good. Some staff with little English but others help when necessary. The pool is a basic rectangle but clean and an infinity pool looking at the forest. Towels available and subbed, never busy when we used it. Swing too and treetop restaurant available on request. We saw wildlife around but not scarily; a water monitor lizard on the grass by pool and monkey by reception 🫶🏼. There were other facilities that we didn’t make use of and the only suggestion is more information on what is available. A great location to stay if you plan on seeing Sigiriya’s Lion Rock, Minneriya Elephant Safaris, Habarana cultural centre or a Village Tour."

"We chose Hotel Sigiriya due to its proximity to The Lion Rock entrance. Distance from hotel is roughly 8 mins. Please note, it’s advisable to not WALK! Remember to order a tuk-tuk in advance if you plan to climb Sigiriya and watch the sunrise. We left at 5am and paid a return ride of LKR1,500 for two person. Our tuk-tuk driver Chaminda +94 ********* took good care of us -two 50yrs old ladies who successfully climbed the summit. Typical of Ceylonese people the hotel staffs were warm and friendly. Shout out to Tharaka (Reception Manager) who always greeted us with a smile and Shehan Restaurant Manager for entertaining us during our 3 day stay. Our room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Good hot shower and acceptable water pleasure. Nice to return to a room that’s been nicely made after 2 hard days of stairs climbing - the Pidurangala (first day) and Sigiriya (second day). Our travel dates were May 31 - Jun 3. Good variety for breakfast buffer - Sri Lankan and Western. The same applies to dinner buffer too. Overall, nice hotel and yes will stay again."

"Loved this hotel, fabulous large room and ensuite, with separate walk in shower and bath. Good AC and working fridge, comfy bed. Fab scenery from balcony, looking out on paddy fields, snd amazing sounds from wildlife at night. Safe should be secured to some surface though, so it can't be lifted. Food was good standard, very similar to other hotels we visited. Pool area was super, nice amount of beds and tables and chairs, plenty of towels available. Bar was nice, good singer one night who took our requests and got us all up dancing. Bar staff were excellent, much quicker than in other places, and more than willing to learn how to make a Baby Guinness!"

"This was a breath of fresh air for us, after a hectic few days of traveling. It was wonderful to just come and soak up the peace and enjoy nature all around us. The lodge we stayed in was very comfortable, the food was exceptional and the staff were extremely attentive. Talk about dinner with a view…..amazing! A bonus was having a monkey come and sit with us on our balcony. The lovebirds were also a great experience. We highly recommend a visit!"

"This hotel has terrible facilities and service. 1. The Wi-Fi in room 97 had no signal, so I had to use the internet in the lobby. 2. There was no hot water in the room, and the staff spent two hours trying to get it working, but I still couldn't shower. I had to go to another room to shower. 3. Breakfast was extremely slow. I booked for 8:00 AM, but by 8:30 AM I had only eaten a few pieces of fruit."

"My wife and I have been fortunate enough to have travelled extensively , and stayed in some beautiful hotels / guest houses but none of the places can come anywhere to the standard of service and food we had at Otunna .I cannot recommend enough.It is a family run business where every member of the family is so helpful and polite.The rooms are very nicely designed and I would definitely come back .If you are fortunate enough to come here , you can forget any other restaurants and if offered take up Dinesh offer of food .His mother created food that was the best we have had on our journey .If you can definitely try the Otunna guest house"
