Check the photos...this place has expired. The reviews reflect an old hostel profile. This place is now a transit centre for migrants primarily from Cuba, Venezuela and China intending on crossing the U.S border illegally. It's bar and vending machines are abandoned and most light fittings are empty of bulbs. It is dark and filled with families packed into cramp rooms. Literally a boarding house now. The reviews do not reflect this ”new place”. Staff were fine as was cleanliness, but this place is not safe. I met a man in my room who has his wallet stolen...not surprising as 90% of guests are illegal migrants...

Casa MX Alameda is okay, just minutes from the subway station. You need to make your own bed, and you will be given a sheet that can be used for a mattress. The second sheet can be used to cover your body and isolate a blanket! Do you know why? Seriously suspected of fleas on the blanket! !! !! I have a lot of bags on the bite, so itchy! !! !! !! Breakfast is a little bit of fruit, coffee, something that looks like milk, corn flakes, bread. . You don't have to eat. . . The terrace on the top is particularly large, the chairs are hollow and comfortable, and the kitchen is ok, but messy, with oil and salt, the refrigerator is large enough, but full. In addition, the bowls and plates are made of plastic. I feel that they are not clean after washing. The pots and pans are all too messy. There are also TV sofa rooms, recreation rooms, sports lounges. On the left side is the OXXO convenience store. On the left side, there is a coffee shop or a breakfast shop. Printing is free on the second floor, and there is a computer for free Internet access. The toilets are large and the bathrooms are slightly small, but the hot water is not bad. The laundry room is locked, you can spend 80 pesos, the guard takes you to the top floor washing machine to wash, there is a dryer, 80 pesos together, you can dry again without drying, but you must guard from the first floor It is inconvenient to get the key to open the door of the laundry room. There is a dilapidated place on the top of the building for drying clothes. The sink is concrete square, so it's not easy to wash clothes. I have a folding basin.

Near the historic city, very close to the subway station, walk to the cathedral, the presidential palace about 20 minutes, there are also large supermarkets nearby, the surrounding environment is relatively safe and cost-effective

It was overall a great stay! Staff are awesome and helpful, activities planned every day so it makes it easy to meet people! Private rooms are secluded (at least the one I stayed at - 111). Definitely had some trouble sleeping at times. This particular bedroom is next to the bathroom which gets cleaned daily at around 5:45-6am and it’s pretty loud for a light sleeper. Another morning someone decided to play the guitar loudly on a Saturday morning at around 8am lol so that was a bummer. Definitely party people come in late but that’s inevitable. Breakfast was delicious, I didn’t try the cocktails though but I imagine they’re tasty, too. Bathrooms and rooms are tidy! Bed was comfy!

I chose this as a cheap hotel near Socalo Square. The location is very good and you can walk to Zocalo Square. It is also a walking distance to the bus stop and subway, so it is perfect for sightseeing. I'm sorry that there is nothing to do with amenities. I was surprised that there was no dryer.

The housing of this hostel is really poor. The quadruple room I booked has a bathroom. The house is so small that two people can't stand down and have no windows. One morning I went out and returned to the room. It ran out of foul smell, the room had no air-conditioning, only one fan was on for 24 hours, and there was only a small pillow on the bed without a sleeping cover. There is no free breakfast and water drinks, and there is a paid restaurant on the ground floor. The hostel is also easily accessible by subway and public buses.

The hotel is in a very nice location, a couple of blocks from Avenida Paseo de la Reforma. The room was very clean and there was a walk-in shower in the bathroom. A nice ce upgrade would be to have USB ports by the nightstand. My issue is with Trip.com. I paid in advance for 3 rooms- one for me and one each for two friends. When I booked the rooms, I listed each of us separately on the online form. I received my confirmation by email and assumed that so did my friends. When we arrived at the hotel, I checked in without issue but when my friends tried to, they were told that no reservation existed for them. This is despite the fact that I had paid by credit card for all three rooms on one transaction. A call to Trips.com did nothing to fix the situation. The reservation number I gave them only had my room listed. My only option now is to dispute the charge once my credit card statement arrives.

Why come to Mexico City and stay in an anonymous 'European/American' hotel? The architecture, space (super high ceilings), colours (orange and blue), the large bedrooms with only shower - these are truly Mexican (baths are not traditional in Mexico). Super clean. Mexico has been great during the pandemic in 2021, enforcing mask-wearing, use of shoe-disinfectant and hand-gel, and this is the same all over the country, not just in this hotel. Everyone is also incredibly polite about it. Frankly, I find this reassuring. Staff extremely helpful, even though I have no Spanish. They offered me a choice of quiet rooms overlooking the courtyard or noisier rooms overlooking the street, there is a locked storeroom for luggage, a safe in each room. For this price I would have given the hotel a five but there is (as of January 2022) an issue with the short hours worked by the restaurant. This is, of course, temporary, since tourism has been down - and because as soon as someone gets covid they have to stay home, so they are short-staffed. But with so many different cafes and restaurants nearby this is no problem. Definitely stay here again when I come back to Mexico City.

Pros: - Excellent location; - Performing staff; - Mexican breakfast of excellent quality; - Excellent cost benefit. Contras: - Room without air conditioning, if you leave the window open, has noise from the street until 1:00 a.m. and some insects also enter; - Food is menu style, allowed only one dish per person; - Bathroom is wet at the time of the bath, because, The toilet is close to the bathing place; - the couple's bed is small.
