3-Star Hotels in Mexico City

Good service... clean rooms and a very good place... we liked our stay... we couldn't eat because we had to leave early... but everything was fine...

I used my points for this stay however the rates including dynamic points rate were low making this hotel value for money or points in my case. Being a Diamond elite member i was upgrade to a suite was not expected but appreciated. Friendly staff making me feel welcome and the free breakfast has variety as well as changing one dish every day i was there. Love a good mexican breakfast. Location was a little out of the centre hence the reason not 5 stars however the bus is a one min walk and they leave every 2 mins if not less. expect it to be busy at times. if you dont mind being a little bit out of the way its a nice hotel for the amount you pay

The location is perfect , they have private parking very convenient, the suite is huge and comfortable. Including a small kitchen. The tv screen is small for the room but no issue. The Staff is nice. Free WiFi not bad.

At the start of my trip, I stayed in the Hilton but whilst perfectly acceptable and ideally situated for the tourist sights, you could be anywhere in the world. I fell in love with Roma Norte on a walk around the city and had to return when I got back Mexico City. Hotel Stanza is set right at the start of what is probably the best street in the city for bars and restaurants, across the street from park at one side and the lovely island that goes the whole length of this bustling, charming street. Rooms are incredibly cheap and yet do not look it, with a comfortable bed and one of the most amazing, powerful showers I have ever used. For location and value for money, I can't think of many places in the world I have stayed with better location or value for money. I will definitely be back here.

Not much to say, the hotel has good breakfast and good facilities, but it is located in the Music Plaza Pedestrian Street, 10 minutes walk to the Grand Plaza in Mexico City, the location is amazing, but don't take the bus, pay attention to safety.

While this hotel was aesthetically pleasing and in a good location for relatively easy access to many tourist spots, the amenities, service, and operation was absolutely horrible! The language barrier was also very challenging and one would think for this to be such a hot spot that they would have staff fluent in English for tourists. I was told that the hotel had english-speaking concierge that would be able to guide me with questions on transportation, etc. and that was not the case. Day 1: - Language barrier made check-in unnecessarily challenging - Language barrier made the ability to assist us with our desired tours impossible, thankfully we had a backup plan and had gathered information for ourselves - Bikes as advertised were not available AT ALL, at no time during our stay and per guests that had arrived a week prior the bikes had not been available (out for repairs & unavailable the entire stay)...this was the method of transportation we had planned on using AND had supposedly reserved for the afternoon of our arrival, thus causing us to have to change plans - My 1st evening in the room the air conditioning was not working and my room was SCORCHING! I was calling every 1 - 1.5 hrs asking for assistance, and even though they are able to control it remotely they could not get it working....I was only able to rest approx. 3 hrs and woke up congested and with a migraine. The young woman at the front desk did everything that she could to communicate the issue and actually did apologize that I was ill, however was not successful in her attempts to reach 'The Manager' as she said that 'the manager' would not return calls made in attempt to speak with me - this ultimately made me late for our tour/lunch reservation due to attempts to handle the situation. Upon return for the afternoon I was told that the A/C was fixed. Upon arriving in the room I found it to be freezing cold and attempted to turn the unit off, the front desk staff KEPT turning it back on, even after attempts to help them understand that the temperature was still not being controlled within the room, thus I was probably able to get 4-5 hrs of sleep and my cold/congestion got worse.....and they said there was no room available to move me to All that said, I have my complaint into the booking agency and hotel corp office, but am writing this review to warn anyone contemplating their stay at City Centro Ciudad de Mexico

The convenient location and good service attitude of this hotel are advantages; other things are average, the breakfast is quite poor, there is no hand towel in the room, and you need to call the front desk to ask for it every time

We stayed at this hotel and it was our first time in Mexico City. It felt safe and secure since guests need to use their key to be allowed into the lobby. It’s conveniently located to most of the places we wanted to visit. At night time, it’s quiet, at least, we didn’t hear noise in our room. The breakfast was really good as well. The staff are all very friendly and greet everyone. There’s a cafe and seafood restaurant attached to the hotel. The bathrooms do not have a lot of space, almost like closet size. For the price and the location where it’s situated, it was worth the price and definitely will stay again.

Mexico is really **. Overall it is very ordinary and small. As you can imagine for a capital city, it is 15-20 minutes away from the airport. The good thing is that the breakfast is okay. There is milk, yogurt and bread.

If you cannot walk stairs or if you want a decent lobby, or even minimal hotel services and security, do not ever stay at the Ritz Hotel in Mexico City. This is a once elegant hotel that has fallen on very hard times. Founded about 1930, even 25 years ago, this hotel once had a gracious street-level lobby and a bar with a mural by Miguel Covarrubias. Now both the lobby and the mural have disappeared! Instead, the lobby consists only of a slippery circular marble staircase to the first floor, where there is an excuse for lobby. There is a separate elevator from the street to the first floor, but it was being renovated the entire time of our second stay this month. The hotel knew that we were coming back; they knew that my spouse is walking with a cane, but they did not have the decency to warn us so that we could stay elsewhere. The space of the old lobby has been rented out to a VIPs chain restaurant, not accessible from inside the hotel. This hotel is now chaotic and badly managed. One has the illusion of staying at a normally functioning hotel, but it’s only an illusion. The ugly dining room has no windows and even that is often closed to guests, who are funneled to an even smaller, darker room so that the hotel can host private events in its dining room. Your taxi with luggage cannot pull up in front of this hotel’s only door. You have to drag it there across a long block past stores because this hotel is now located on a pedestrian street that is massively crowded. Often we found that the Ritz had no one at the door. When arriving, even getting help to bring in your luggage is an ordeal! That is a problem for many reasons: no security at the door leaves guests vulnerable to pickpockets who prey on foreign tourists. One trick that they employ is to fake bumping into the foreign target and smear them with ice cream. Then, the culprit, pretending an accident precedes to try to clean off the victim, only to figure out how to pick their pockets while touching them! We both got slammed with yellow ice cream just outside the hotel entrance, though they were not able to get at our concealed valuables. The hotel breakfast varies depending what the restaurant has left over. They don’t keep the hot dishes on the buffet warm. If you want hot water in your room to make tea, the hotel does not oblige. They even refused to let us have two cups and hot water. Forget room service. Often no one speaks any language other than Spanish and if your accent is not just right, they pretend not to understand you! Most of the people at the desk won’t help you with even basic directions. This is a non-hotel! There is no concierge. There is no service!
