Hotel is located in what seems like a central area not too far from local fitness park, hospital, eateries, petrol station, and local shops like 7 Eleven, which is in close walking distance to the hotel. All still quite quiet. Bar, lounge, and restaurant are all easy access from reception which is very stylish, artworks reminded me of 1980s & 90s pop icon era. Room was spacious with pinch pleat curtains, block out blinds, twin beds, interesting art, and an on suite shower. Though hotel is located in walking distance from most things. Taxis's were also readily available outside of Uber services, bus stops are close to hotel. My Health Review: Due to current state of my own health, recent injury, distressing work struggles as a result wasn't well prior to trip, could not even prep properly for the trip my brain just wasn't having it- long term struggles with weight, walking; a pursuit I love, just was really challenging on this trip. I also manage respiratory conditions as well found the atmosphere/air challenging, felt quite tight/close and found I took asthma/copd inhalers more regularly than I normally would. Though warned about the possible side effects of altitude we did not know what to expect or how I would respond until I got to Mexico. Thankfully, symptom's did cool down eventually, I suspect jet lag may have had an effect also a change in diet. Luckily, after it was clear I was going to struggle even when walking what would normally be considered a short distance. We got cabs everywhere, almost at a drop of the hat. Thankfully. I am still so grateful, I cannot tell you because I was in so much pain. Though, what exercise I did get did me the world of good! Maybe worth checking if altitude could affect any health conditions just a tip, worth a mention if it has not already come up as a possible consideration. It doesn't have to deter a trip but may mean a trip may need to be well advised, and planned well enough regarding meds, breaks, and accessibility to cabs etc The heat did play apart but was only a minor discomfort I carried a hand held electric fan. There is a really lovely small gym area on the first floor of the hotel where you can sit down ride, run, or use walking apparatus which was really nice to have close by. Our room was just around the corner from the lift which we could hear but that did not lessen the quality of our stay, at all. The area around Hotel Marbella seemed to me to be very quiet at night, and quietly bustling by day. Hotel Marbella has a really great standard of luxury, style, and cleanliness Really, lovely place to stay generally felt very cool, and very calm place to be Thank You! Very old hotel, it looks like they don’t check the rooms properly before giving them to the customers, sink was clogged, doesn’t have heater, every time that somebody flush the toilet the lines makes a lot of noise, blanket was dirty or had stains, closet was dirty, I cleaned it with a wipe before putting my clothes and came very dirty, very basic amount of towels with only shampoo and conditioner. At the end of the day you get what you pay! Food was good at the restaurant, If you have a car, parking is free, free WiFi as well.

I stayed here for quite a long while unfortunately, so I have a pretty good grasp on how this hotel runs. And I wouldn't return unless big changes are made. PROS: --price --breakfast included --pets allowed --lobby decor was cool CONS: --wifi doesn't work for more than a few minutes here and there --water takes almost 10 minutes to get warm --shower only has 1/2 door and gets water all over bathroom floor --all of the wooden trim along base of walls was off or falling off --stains on the new towels --supposed to get 2 waters/day, usually didn't happen --had to ask for more toilet paper --they don't like to clean your room some days and never clean it at the same time --room was hard to breathe in after they did ”clean” because they spray your bedding with harsh chemicals every time so it ”smells clean” --takes forever to be served at breakfast (only one employee) and always got things we never asked for or never received at least one thing we did ask for --top blanket on bed worn and had rough patches --no outside food/drinks are allowed even though the options and service within the hotel for dining isn't good --our travel-sized lotion in the bathroom was used and 1/2 gone already --walls are thin, easy to hear rooms next to you --rude if you ask for room to be cleaned, for new towels, etc. --no room service or laundry service options *not a con, but a tip: you need pesos daily so you can tip the server at breakfast as it's expected since it's not a buffet-style breakfast

I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of January 2022. The hotel is in a nice area close to shops, cafes, restaurants, street food, convenience stores, and a Sumesa grocery store. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel, and another one adjacent to it on the other side; it is only open from 7AM -2PM. I walked to Paseo de la Reforma and Centro Historico, or if you're not a walker, Ubers are readily available. My room was large, and divided into three parts; bedroom; dressing room with clothing rack, full-length mirror, and sink; and bathroom with a large shower. The water was hot, and had good pressure. The bed was comfortable, and there was an outlet near the headboard so I could easily charge my electronics. Wifi was excellent. The room, including the dressing room, was very dim. There were no bedside lamps, just a light attached to the wall above the bed, and a small lamp hanging over the TV. There was a large picture window in the room, which helped with lighting, but I didn't open the curtains completely for privacy reasons. My room faced the street, but I heard very little street noise. Likewise, I did not hear noise from adjacent rooms or other guests, either. The biggest drawback to my stay was how cold the rooms were, almost inexplicably so. During the day the outside temp was in the low to mid-70's F (~23-24 C), but the room felt like it was about 60 degrees (16 C) or less. At night the room temperature felt like it was near-freezing. I got an extra blanket, which helped a little, but not enough. As large as the room is, it could easily accommodate a mini-fridge, but there wasn't one. There was no coffee maker, tea kettle, or microwave either, and none available in the lobby. The room prices for this hotel fluctuate a lot, and are much pricier if you book on short notice. I only paid $27 USD total per night, including tax, but I have seen instances where it was double that. I think the room was a good bargain for the price I paid, but not if you pay much more than that. If you don't mind cold rooms, and can get a room at a reasonable price, then I recommend staying here. Unfortunately, the icy rooms were a deal breaker for me, and I probably wouldn't stay here again.

I stayed here for a few nights in October 2021. It was in the perfect location in Roma Norte, close to everything you’d need from trendy bars and restaurants, to transport to the historic centre. For such a location the value was good too. The hotel itself - I loved the vibe of it. It felt like something from an age gone by - 70s… 80s… I’m not sure but it was in a really good way. It didn’t feel super dated, it felt intentionally a bit retro, which was nice, given that it was very clean. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat and I’m fact it’s the first place I’ll look when I visit CDMX again, though it does not completely avoid a couple of suggestions for improvement - most notably the breakfast, which although free with the room, was not quite as good as one might get elsewhere. (Although maybe the non-vegan options are better but I was limited to toast, jam, and fruit.) Also, the bedsheets could be updated, although clean, they were a little worn. Hope to visit again soon!

Novotel Mexico City Centro Historico
Novotel Mexico City Centro HistoricoNovotel Mexico City Centro Historico

Novotel Mexico City Centro Historico has the best location in Historic Mexico City, ensuring all the comfort for a quiet stay in Mexico City. The hotel has rooms ideal for business travelers and families, as well as being pet friendly. Enjoy a Mexican restaurant and a bar with signature cocktails. The hotel's structure includes a gym, meeting rooms for corporate events and a terrace over the Zócalo.

GGuest User 2024.03.02
The Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico is a new hotel. Its newness shows in any number of ways, both good and bad. First the good: Staff were all friendly. And my room was shiny new and free of signs of wear. Everything in the room worked perfectly. It is true that the room was rather small and that the view was mostly of a blank wall. Since I was by myself and did not spend much time in the room during the day, these latter issues didn’t bother me very much. There were, however, some issues that were also perhaps related to the hotel’s newness. The cleaning staff didn’t empty the wastebasket on the first day and didn’t replenish the Nespresso pods on the second. Perhaps they should start working from a checklist … ? Also, breakfast was only available half an hour later than advertised. And, oddly, only certain guests were offered omelettes. And, as someone who doesn’t eat meat, I was bothered by a cheese-and-luncheon-meat plate on which the cheese and luncheon meat were piled on top of each other. I would also have appreciated labels on the four stew-like dishes on offer—I couldn’t tell what they contained. There is also the issue of billing. When I checked in at 3 p.m., I was asked to pay the entire bill—no problem there. But, when I arrived in my room, I found an e-mail from hotel management informing me that, because the hotel was extra busy, I’d already been charged for day 1. It’s true that I’d opted for a “flexible” rate which required me to agree to pay for the first day whether I showed up or not, but it was a little startling to be charged for a no-show before the earliest possible check-in time—and then charged again when I checked in. It took a week for the double charge to disappear from my credit-card statement. I can’t believe Accor would have approved of this billing procedure. The thing that most bothered me about the hotel was the absence of a minibar. The TripAdvisor website—and also the websites of several booking agencies—all claim that rooms in the Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico have minibars. The Accor website, I’ll admit, doesn’t. But I guess I’ve come to expect that hotels of a certain class would have minibars. And I missed having one, not for overpriced drinks, but for the groceries I bought. I wasn’t, in other words, very enthusiastic about the Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico, although I acknowledge that, with a few changes, it could most definitely be turned into a very good hotel.
