Sonder the Deco

Property was very clean, and quiet. Close to the beach! Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful! Anna in particular! She was always smiling and very friendly when answering our questions. Property is close to restaurants. The only drawback was the parking-there is none on the property. We opted for the 3rd party valet parking and it ended up taking an hour to get our vehicle when we wanted to go sightseeing. It would have been better to not rent a car and use public transportation.

The hotel’s ambiance is fine. However, during our entire stay the guests in the room above us were stomping around the floor nonstop. From late night into the late morning which made it difficult to get peaceful sleep. Very frustrating. The hotel also doesn’t have any form of room service which is odd and the bar downstairs closes quite early. The elevator was out of service which with luggage made it a nuisance.

The property was such a unique set up , I loved the convenience of using my phone as a key. Very centrally located

The staff was so friendly and helpful with any concerns I had. The room was cozy just wished the floor was a swept before we came. Location is great your surrounded by so many restaurants and I loved having so many options. Highly recommend!

This is a low-key establishment without a lot of frills or extras. It is perfect for an independent person who is happy to come and go without a lot of interaction from the staff. I enjoyed the fact that they clean the rooms only when requested. This seems much less wasteful to me. The staff was helpful and efficient any time I needed anything. The property covers a large area and feels safe and friendly. There are many areas to sit and read or relax. It's close to everything, but my room was perfectly quiet. My only unhappiness was the fact that I couldn't open the windows. This is a policy at the hotel so there wasn't anything I could do about it. I was very happy with The Sonder and would recommend it.

Great location but Sonder is designed to upcharge at every turn. Elevator broken and no sound proofing between rooms can hear conversation word for word. Nice room.

When we first got there the lady said she would give us an (early check in even though I had already paid for it ) because we were on the third floor and the elevator was out for a COUPLE days. Please keep in mind I had kneee surgery 4 weeks ago and it became excessive. When we first got into the room all of the soaps were broken from the pumps: the shower wasn’t working and when we called for service the lady assured nobody would come in without one of us being there. When we got back to the room the front desk told us the maintenance guy went upstairs and fixed it? This made us super uncomfortable. The next day we asked to be moved to a first floor room because I physically couldn’t go up 3 flights of stairs anymore. When my fianace asked, we got an attitude and a but I told you this was the case, keep in mind the elevator was only supppsed to be out for a few days. The room they switched us too was way smaller and is infested with flies, we had multiple pictures and videos and could supply them with time stamps of this fly invasion. Nobody came for our cleaning and when complained we’re told that was the only thing available. We stayed 5/6nights with you guys and it was a beyond horrible experience from your staff down to the flies. Never again..!!

Was pleasantly surprised by the Art Deco group of buildings that make up this hotel. The communal spaces were very welcoming, the room was spacious, clean and modern. The pool space was perfect and you are a short 5 minute walk to the beach. Lacking was the water pressure on the 4th floor shower, and the fact that the elevator was broken for a portion of our stay. Little details could be maintained better: the soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower were broken. Otherwise a great option at this price point.
