Hotels Near Nanjing Confucius Temple in Nanjing

I have never felt so compelled to write a review for a hotel. Our stay at Jinling Mandarin Garden Hotel Nanjing was a disappointing one. First of all the theme room we reserved was a very small room with view of another building with absolutely no privacy. The corridor and the room reeked of cigarette smoke at all time. So much so we had to turned off the centralised cooling system and rely on a fan I requested from the front desk. Anyway the cooling system was set at 23 and felt very stuffy. The light in the toilet turned off after a certain period and the motion sensor was not the most sensitive. I paid for comfort and do not appreciate to be dictate when and how to use them. I like my room to be 20C and lights on during the time I’m in the shower however long it takes. And absolutely do not appreciate to be subjected to inhale secondhand smoke for the last 2 days. It was a birthday celebration that has been ruined, not only that you didn’t take note of the request, first was given a room without a bathtub then we finally settled with one that has one but stank with cigarettes smell and with absolutely no view. Breakfast was very average but sufficient, full unhappy staffs standing around. Coffee was excellent though. Beside the good location right next to Fuzimiao that’s nothing good about the hotel unfortunately. It takes lots of tourist groups so the breakfast area gets very busy. For the price we paid there are many more better hotels to choose from in the area. My biggest regret in this trip.

A very cost-effective place to stay! For travelers who are mainly visiting scenic spots, this location is perfect. The room is simply decorated and the air conditioning works very well. The bathroom had plenty of water pressure and hot water came quickly. Sitting on the bay window at night and looking at the lanterns in Confucius Temple is very atmospheric, and there are also many takeout options nearby.

I stayed for six nights during my leisure trip. The hotel is located near the metro, making it easy to explore the city. The check-in/out process was smooth and efficient. The staff, especially 黄金, along with the duty manager, were extremely helpful in assisting me and resolving my issue. The team handled it professionally, and I highly recommend staying with them.

The hotel's hardware facilities and service attitude are very good. The curtains were broken and they helped us repair them in time. Because it is close to the Confucius Temple, it is a bit noisy when sleeping at night, but it is not a big problem. At this price, there is no requirement for the hotel. It is very good.

Location of hotel was great. Slightly off centre from the main shopping area so it’s not too noisy/ crowded. Within 5-8 mins walking distance from the mrt station and fu zi miao area. It’s located right within qin huai he scenic area. Lots of good food in the area. Hotel staff were great, would recommend as usual with any atour hotel.

Negative aspects: No one in this hotel can make a complete sentence in English, which is a problem as they welcome guests from anywhere in the planet. My room had no soap for washing hands. I could listen the neighbors opening and closing their door with violence, inside my room - the sound protection is not that good. The breakfast is below average - no variety, mostly focused on Chinese food for breakfast, and the place is small and usually a mess (not clean at all). Positive aspects:  the location and the quality of the mattress (5 stars). Well, and the room was clean.

Booked this place for a 4 day trip to Nanjing. The location of this hotel was fantastic, right beside the Qinhuai river and very close to tourist and historical areas of the city! The rooms were well stocked, very clean and the voice assistant was of good use if you know Mandarin. The staff were super chill and very helpful if you have any questions. Food was on point as well! Would book again should I ever come back to Nanjing.

My wife had booked a hotel nearby this one, but the rooms were only 16m2 to 20m2. This is way too small, and they were expensive. Then I found the Hotel V and the rooms were cheaper, but much larger. My room was 45m2, and it came with a den area in a Japanese style setting. We have 2 kids, so they went directly into that area and never left. Both kids did their homework there and played there. This left the main room for the adults. The staff were exceptionally friendly and incredibly helpful, and most of all polite. There is spacious underground parking that was clean and not old, dusty, and smelly. The location is great, in a food plaza, directly across from Starbucks and near two subway lines. I used the subway to travel to and from Nanjing South Railway Station. No taxis needed. The cost of the hotel room was very reasonable, rather awesome for the type of room I had. This is a 5-star, even if it is not a 5-star!

The hotel is a bit old. Had to change rooms in the middle of the night due to something not working in the room. Room temperature is set by the hotel so it can get hot. Fridge didn’t work. They won’t deliver your food to your room. This means you need to go downstairs to pick up your our food. Bad way to provide a service at a five star hotel.

The room was very spacious and tidy, with daily cleaning and all the hygiene products restocked. Hotel is located just next to the beautiful touristic area and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. And they have lovely cats living in the hotel!
