Hotels Near Bobby's Department Store in New York

Having stayed at this hotel in the past I had a good experience. However since a management change, the hotel needs to reflect its policies better when checking in. I understand parking is always an issue everywhere you go in Brooklyn. However during check in, disclosure of requiring a permit to park should be mentioned upon arrival. This policy was incorporated sometime within the last 4 years at this location. Upon returning to the hotel after a 13 hour day I inquired about a permit as the rear lot indicated permit required. While some vehicles had some sort of faded out poorly printed some saying permit something, I could not make out that the permit was actually for the Marriott lot. When I went inside, I was told all the permits had already been issued and no more permits were to be issued. However I had already checked in the day before and no one mentioned anything about a permit. Although I had a lengthy conversation about driving in NYC and how bad it can be insinuating that I was driving a vehicle. I know a manager will review this review and this needs to be training improvement at the hotel to teach new employees that they need to ask individuals upon check-in if they have a vehicle or not and if they are going to be parking at the hotel. Not like it really matters much however as titanium member with over 580 lifetime nights and a seven year history staying with Marriott. I have been to several hotels and I have never once had an issue or had a front desk employee not be willing to figure something out when I acknowledged an issue with my stay.

Our visit brought us to the Even Hotel Brooklyn for a convention. We could not have been more satisfied. Everyone of the staff that we encountered was friendly, helpful and extremely professional. We loved the room. Perfect for getting work done with the stand up desk and ample outlets and ports. The whiteboard is a super touch. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom appointments were sensational. It was fantastic to be able to do a mini work out in the room each day with the aid of stretch bands and a ball. Parking was available overnight on the street by the hotel. Parking lot was not needed. THANK YOU to Cris in housekeeping for getting a piece of luggage returned that was accidentally left in the room. We had it back within 2 1/2 days of realizing that it never made it to the car. We can't wait to come back.

Great location in Boerum Hill, one block from Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station.

shortcoming: 1. The shower water is very small, really very small. Maybe because there is no shower door, I am afraid that the water will splash out? 2. The power of the hair dryer is very small, and it takes ten minutes to blow short hair. 3. The pillow is too soft 4. There are subways and bars downstairs, so it’s best to choose a high-end area. advantage: 1. The overall design and details of the hotel are great, great! 2. Shower gel and shampoo are very useful 3. The location is available, both in the subway and in supermarkets. 4. The service is good. Room service comes as soon as you call. 5. The coffee and bagels at Black Seed downstairs are great!

I am normally not one to leave reviews but had to give the Hilton Brooklyn 5 stars. The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable, the location is amazing with tons of great restaurants and shops nearby, and the staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Can't say enough great things!

It isn't easy to find a centrally located and relatively affordable hotel in Brooklyn, so I was a bit nervous about what to expect, but the Sheraton worked out really well. My room was bigger than I expected--not huge, but good-sized for New York--with a nice view of the water. It was clean, quiet, and modern, and the bed was comfortable. Outside the hotel, street life was bustling--diverse crowds enjoying the many take-out food options and the outlet stores on the Fulton Mall. I enjoyed feeling like I was surrounded by ”real New Yorkers.” There's a subway station close by (you're only two stops from Manhattan), and a decent cafe operating out of the lobby. The elevators can be a bit slow and crowded, so requesting a lower floor might reduce your wait times a bit. Over the course of my multi-day stay at this large hotel, I met other guests attending weddings, religious conferences, and sports tournaments. I found the staff helpful and pleasant, though perhaps the service is a little basic (if something is delivered to you at the front desk, you can expect to go get it yourself). I was glad to find this hotel and would stay there again.

We stayed at Aloft Brooklyn for three nights. I was reading the reviews here on TripAdvisor as I was traveling to Brooklyn and I was thinking “what have I done?”. I don’t know what all the whinging was about. Our room (normal King size) was spacious, clean and groovy. The bed was super comfortable and everything worked. Yes, we requested a room on the 15th floor to avoid the rooftop bar noise, and we had to request a room turnover, but we were completely satisfied.

It's a very comfortable and spacious room. There are basically no shortcomings. The security service at the door is very good. You can't enter without a key card. It's a great experience.

The hotel environment is very good, the surrounding is very quiet, and there is a good supermarket nearby

Great customer service! Greeted with a smile and questions answered with patience. Thank you to the concierges for their suggestions such as where to get a jacket and where to find something to eat at 10 PM. About a mile walking distance to DUMBO and the entrance to Brooklyn bridge. I love that there is self-service coffee and tea available throughout the day and night. Free continental breakfast. The room size isn’t grand, but we are in New York so real estate is limited. Miniature bath products provided by hotel. Will definitely return if we visit Brooklyn again!
