We were looking to spend a few days at Coney Island. The hotel was one of the closest, but still a 15-20 minute walk away, which is not particularly close. You have to walk by a busy cement yard and numerous auto repair shops to get there. Despite the walk, we were able to visit all the area sites without any problems. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. There were a variety of items for breakfast and the woman worked very hard to keep the food stocked during the morning rush. All in all, we had a good stay and it was worth the price.

All rooms are facing the road. The sound insulation is not good. The noise is very loud in the morning. It is outrageous that the price I booked several days in advance is more than 600 RMB higher than the price after arriving at the hotel on the same day. I actually paid 1780 points. Not recommended hotel

they charge 25usd per hour before 3 pm, and the russian or turkey white girl told me they only take cash, ive been travelling to many many places, stayed at millions of hotels, and this is the first time i was told i have to get the cash to check in, i looked at the paperwork put on the window, it only shows 25 usd per hour, and ABUSOLULATLY no CASH ONLY!!! She asked me for 200 usd in cash before 3pm, well, whos here to gurantee that shes not taking part of cash in her pocket?? If your service really matches with what your ”saying” on your website, why do you only take cash??? it that because youre afraid to be exposed?? or youre skipping off the tax??? she asked me to withdraw the cash in that ATM near the door, and she claimed every card works for their ATM, and very obviously, shes still not woke up from the night. Question: 1. she cant make me believe theyre taking cash only before 3pm, the paperwork never says things like that. 2. nobody would trust her to give her the big amount of cash instead of thinking she will not take some herself. in fact, theres a big possibility that she will. 3. the ATM theyre having, i didnt see theres a certain ATM brand on that, its not BOA, not Chase, not TD, and if you try to withdraw cash from there, they ask for your PIN SO, im really upset, if your manager or owner sees this, pls take a good look at your emploees working in the front desk, send em back to streets because they giving your customers attitude and very arrogant gesture. Congratulations you lost another customer, keep doing that if you think you should be given credit for that.

The hotel is a bit far from the subway station, but quieter and good service
The hotel is located in the second last stop in the southwest tip of Brooklyn, so it is far away from downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan. It’s certainly not a neighbourhood hotel, but one for international travellers mostly, given the quality of the international brand Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG). It’s worth staying if one can get a good deal/price. Otherwise, one should simply choose the similar IHG hotel in Manhattan…

Western breakfast is quite rich, the service guy is very warm, the room is not big enough to look like an extra bed, the location is very good on the roadside, there is no parking lot, there is no delicious Chinese food around.

The location is good, 3 minutes away from the subway station. The hotel includes breakfast, which is pretty good. The room is not big but the hygiene is OK. But the soundproofing is average and you can hear sounds from upstairs or in the corridor. The hotel has a microwave and refrigerator. Very convenient

I found this hotel on a whim when I suddenly needed a place to stay and am so lucky to have found it. It is clean, comfortable, quiet, safe, and convenient (everything you need is right around the corner and it's almost too easy to get to Manhattan). However, the best part of this is the staff - they are incredibly helpful, nice, and always there for anything you need. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough, especially for solo travelers or couples who need somewhere reasonably priced to stay that is simple but still has everything you need. I would highly recommend this hotel, and hope to come back in the future!

This is a really good hotel for a really good price and the front counter employees were nice. But there are things I wish that were a part of the hotel room. First, I wish there was a ”not distrub sign on the door”. I didn't want the cleaning service to come in without my permission. Next, the shower. There was no shelf in the shower to put my bar of soap and shampoo. I had to step out of the shower to put my bar of soap back in my soap dish on the bathroom sink. The tile floor in the shower I wish was a little bit cleaner, there was a brown stain on the floor. Also, there was no towel rack on the outside of the shower door. The towels and wash cloths are placed above the toilet, and I had to place the towel on the bathroom sink. So not have a shelf in the shower and a towel rack is an inconvience. One of the nighstands I used to put my electronics on to charge, the top of the nightstand slid off. I didn't use the dresser, but the top drawer handle was broken and the bottom was missing. In the closet, I wish the hangers weren't hangers bought from the $1 store. At least have the hangers black so it'll look more chic. The t.v. channels and internet weren't that great. But all in all, the room was clean and the shower (in my room) was semi-clean, and it had a mini fridge and mircrowave in the room which is a big PLUS. This is truly one of the best hotels for the price in Brooklyn.

Excellent
KKitrynThis hotel is immaculate and absolutely everybody is above and beyond pleasant. Though not directly affiliated with the hotel, Inexpensive, super clean and very easily accessible parking is a two minute walk away at 25 Kent St. We paid $64 for 2 1/2 days of parking. The room was incredible. Exposed brick walls with super high ceilings, the bathroom had a huge tub and a wonderful shower. Pro tip: if traveling with someone that you do not want to see you naked, understand that it is not a one-way mirror over the bar and you absolutely CAN see into the shower While someone is showering. Luckily I was with my daughter, so this was not a real issue. The restaurant within the hotel and the Ramen place directly next-door are both wonderful. I did not make it to the rooftop bar this time but since I absolutely will stay at this hotel every time I come to visit I will check it out next time! The room was extremely quiet, temperature was easy to control. Now, a little too much honesty, I am an extremely “sensitive” person, and resting and hearing so much from the second I stepped into this hotel. I was never scared, as I definitely don’t typically get scared, but I had numerous very genuine and very obvious things happen while I say that this hotel, such as seeing things walk across the hall in both my room and the hallway, in the main lobby bathroom someone walked into the bathroom and into the stall next to me, but never left, and when I looked, there was no one there, and I was in the shower. I could hear several men talking to each other as if they were right next to me. I was definitely not hearing people from another room. I also heard the door to the stair well open, which is right next to our room and I was right next to the door so when I looked, there was nobody there and I pulled it shut again. Just out of curiosity, as to what was there prior to the hotel, on the way home my daughter looked up the history to the hotel. Let’s just say it was very enlightening as to why i was experiencing so much activity in this hotel, especially on the third floor next to what I will assume would have been a fire escape at some point. It also may explain why the first thing that went through my mind when I opened the front door of the hotel and turned to my daughter and said “I’m surprised the hotel gets away with door opening inward. It goes against fire code. Anyway, You can look up the history yourself and understand all that I have said. :-) either way, a spectacular hotel at a decent price and a very safe and beautiful part of the city. I will definitely stay here again!
GGuest UserWe always stay at Marriott, although I rarely use my Bonvoy membership. I always book our hotel through trip.com. The fridge had a bottle of Coke that had been drank by the previous guest. The hair dryer bag is dusty.
Everything else looks good. They provide free water during check-in and a raincoat in case of rain.
The breakfast seems decent for the price.
MMd HumayunDuring my week-long stay at Hi New York hostel from December 14th to 21st, I found the overall experience to be quite enjoyable. The check-in process was seamless, thanks to the ever-present front desk staff who were helpful and efficient, ensuring a smooth start to my stay
The proximity of the canteen and cafeteria next to the reception area added to the convenience. The cafeteria offered a delightful selection of freshly baked goods and various beverages, making it a pleasant spot to unwind.
While I explored nearby Bodegas for budget-friendly groceries, the hostel's public kitchen became my go-to for preparing breakfast and dinner. Although the communal kitchen occasionally suffered from post-use neglect, the dedicated hostel staff ensured it remained clean and well-equipped.
The cleanliness of the shared facilities extended to the toilets, which were consistently well-maintained and stocked with amenities. This attention to hygiene contributed significantly to a positive overall experience.
Despite booking a bed in a 12-bed room, I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness and the daily cleaning routine carried out by the diligent hostel staff.
Adding to the positive experience, the Hi New York hostel's location proved to be exceptionally convenient for exploring major destinations. The hostel's close proximity to a subway station, just a 2-minute walk away, made traveling around the city a breeze. This accessibility enhanced the overall convenience of my stay, allowing me to easily reach and explore various attractions without any hassle. The strategic location near the subway station was undoubtedly a valuable asset for anyone looking to make the most of their time in the city.
In essence, Hi New York hostel provided a comfortable and budget-friendly accommodation option with its friendly staff, convenient amenities, and well-maintained communal spaces. My stay was marked by a harmonious balance of affordability and quality service.
MMaikehuThe location of the hotel is invincible. You can walk to Central Park, Times Square, and countless famous attractions in Manhattan. Next to the subway station, the transportation is very convenient.
The hotel service is also very good. Hair dryer and coffee machine were sent to the front desk by phone. The room was clean and tidy.
It is basically full, causing the elevators to be very tight and need to wait. Some rooms in the hotel are a bit old-fashioned, and the details such as the corners may not be very beautiful. Let's see if someone pays attention.
帅帅哥NomadLocation is good if you want to stay close to Times Square. Their fridge was not working but they immediately send one when I complained. Elevator is okay, doesn’t bounce.
BBINBINExcept for an extra charge of $ 49 per person per day of the resort fee, this is not acceptable, and I hope to cancel it.
Good location, same building with park central. Manhattan club
Newly renovated, but the toilet and bathroom in the room are too small, only half the size of the Manhattan club
Breakfast was generous and dinner was negligible,
Opposite diagonally is Carnegie Hall, the subway station is right out, walk 10 minutes to times square 5 minutes to central park
15 minutes by subway to Wall Street,
If you can cancel the resort fee. I will book this hotel every time I go
Otherwise, I would still choose Manhattan club
GGuest UserThe West Side YMCA is definitely a no frills place to stay, but the location is excellent. You're right next to Central Park and Columbus Circle. Times Square is an easy walk south. We stayed in 2 different rooms. The first had a bunk bed and was quite small, but the bed was comfy and the room was clean. It also had a small TV and fridge. We had a semi-private bathroom, which was down the hall. This meant we had to scan our key on one of the bathroom doors to get in, but once inside we had privacy while we got cleaned up. The bathrooms were kept clean and tidy. We were able to upgrade the second half of our stay to a room with a larger bed and an in room bathroom. Again, this hotel is no frills. It can be rough around the edges, but it's clean and comfortable at the end of a long day of sightseeing. We did not have time to take advantage of the gym, the pool, the sauna, and stuff like that, but they looked nice. I'd recommend the West Side YMCA. If you're visiting NYC, you should be out doing stuff, not sitting around the room. It was everything we needed it to be.
MmelI really like the Sheraton Hotel, this place is really very satisfying, highly recommend for a relaxing holiday, the service is quite good and friendly and very clean, and complete equipment will not disappoint
AAshley NicoleThe hotel is in an excellent location. It’s very easy to get around by walking or hopping on the metro. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful, but the hotel itself is in need of renovations (as other reviews have stated). If the hotel were to make those renovations I would stay again.
MMisti WallerWe get there at 10:00am - We knew we couldnt check in but asked anyway. Lady on Thurs 9/28 told me we couldnt yet and gave us bag tags to hold our bags for us. Very nice and pleasant. We then return to the hotel at 9pm to finally check in. We had a great day seeing the city. We are then told that the room I booked was over sold and they can not provide me with a King that I purchased but a double. This was the manager - She discounted the bill and $54 and told me they would make sure we were accommodated tomorrow. The room we were put it was the size of a walk in closet with a bed with a window unit that water dropped on all night making a loud noise with every drop. It also had a broken shelf above the sink so you literally had no where to put anything. It was horrible and honestly a $54 discount was not nearly enough.
Friday at 9am we come down turn in the room keys and explain to yet a third person....she understands and says I see notes here and we have a king room for you. I asked if we could go ahead and get the room number but she said no not yet we have to wait for the people to check out. We check our bags with tags and leave them at the desk again. We then spend another wonderful day exploring the city. We return around 9pm again and another person is working and has absolutely no idea of anything that was supposed to be done for us. I asked for any other room then the one we were in first and they had a queen room available. I took it after being so tired. The lady gave me the managers email and said he would speak to her for us. I will be reaching out but now that we checked out sat morning I dont believe we will be compensated for this terrible lack of communication. We never even got to unpack our bags.
