Athena Premier Resort Ninh Binh

The place looks pretty nice on the outside, but more attention to details can be made. Paid a premium to be here. Most staff seemed really blur and does the bare minimum. Wanted to go sight seeing, no mention of bike rentals no maps just “it’s nearby 8 mins cycle” asked if it would be safe to park the bicycles nearby “yea it’s safe” but no mention that we have to pay the vendors to park our bicycles. Room itself looks OK, upon further inspection you can see the big spider webs, spiders and in other bugs, algae and molds. Get it that it’s nature but perhaps more effort should be focused on cleanliness, especially the bathroom walls. floor is pretty dusty. Bathroom looks okay, but when toilet bowl is flushed, the floor will be wet (sewage problem) and has a musky spell. Breakfast is mediocre. But good thing would be the restaurant’s lunch menu saved it, room service was pretty good. Waiter forgot to ask for our room number the first time so we were left waiting.I ordered room service on the 2nd day, waiter forgot my cutleries. The gym had a grand total of 4 equipments. It’s really the details that make my experience a lackluster one. For the price I paid, I expected way better than this.

There are no words to express how the beauty of Athena resort, Athena Premier Resort is surrounded by the fresh green of the forest, creating a beautiful scene of greenery; The rooms at Athena Premier Resort are designed with warm tones of wood combined with traditional rattan and bamboo materials.

My first impression was that this is a resort located isolated from crowded streets, so it is suitable for those who like quiet. However, it's located not too far from the center, so I'm satisfied with it. Some points I feel are as follows: - Rooms are clean (I'm afraid of getting dirty), spacious and airy. - Delicious food (especially the pho broth for breakfast). - Landscape: beautiful, peaceful, many trees. The resort has a back against the mountain and a great view of the river :bd. There is also an outdoor play area for children, and a duck-riding canal that my children love. There is also an outdoor dining area, but it was cold when I went so I didn't experience it :D - Service: the staff here are good and very enthusiastic. After checking in, my family was given a fruit basket to welcome guests. In short, this is a place worth going many times. Those who haven't been yet should come try it once

What a lovely place to stay in Ninh Binh! I was amazed by the beautiful surrounding landscapes. The staff was also very nice to me, not to mention all the delicious food. It was perfection. I'm looking forward to coming back with my family one day.

The scenes are breath-taking, the rooms are luxurious while being environmentally friendly with plants and a river balcony view! Highly suggest you try those lovely boát there, you'll fall in love with them! The staff are the loveliest and the most hospitable ones I've ever met. Definitely would come back again.

This is the best resort I have ever come. My family absolutely will come back next time for more experiences. Big thanks to all staffs for helping me with my problem that enthusiastically. Besides, the atmosphere here is also enjoyable, the Delux room is clean and fragrant.

This does not feel like a 4 star hotel. If you were to tell me this hotel was 20 years old, I would believe it because it feels run down. Bathroom has no vents so it has a really musty smell. The windows can open, but they have no screens and with the amount of bugs around the property, it’s basically unusable. Shower need a deep clean (see photo). Our A/C is only in our bedroom, so the bathroom stays hot all day. And then you mix it in with the musty smell, ugh I found myself just avoiding using the bathroom Mosquitos were a big issue in the room as well (but we found the mosquito zapper on our last morning there). There were dead bugs on our bathroom window screens, window sill, and on the walls. Pool bar was never staffed and pool was floating with dead bugs. Balcony bar above the restaurant was also never staffed and only has a few chairs up there. I’m not sure if it’s just the season, but it definitely feels like a skeleton staff at the hotel. Grabs can be hard to get from the resort so you should ask the front desk to call you one. Free bikes are provided which you can take to bike into town (about a 25 min ride). It’s fairly easy and would be nice if the staff mentions that to everyone coming in. Driving you go on the outside roads and it takes just as long. Breakfast was lackluster, but at least it’s free. Overall, for the price (especially compared to the other options here), I expected way more. I’m glad we didn’t pay extra to be in the premium riverfront rooms. And luckily we got the top floor where the rooms below us look like the view is blocked by all the messy shrub. I’m honestly a little annoyed we even paid as much as we did.

For those who like seclusion, this resort will be for them. Situated way inside the mountain and rice paddies of Tam Cốc, at first look the resort is nice and still new , just operated since 7/23. But its location becomes inconvenient when it will take about 20 minutes walk to get to the main road of town with no other choice than to call a taxi or ride bicycle. The resort should provide electric car to transport guests at least to the main road. Resort do lend bicycle but during the bad rainy weather (which was what we experienced) , the road is slippery, muddy, dangerous since you have to compete with cars on a narrow road. Our room is nice and large but lack the warm ambiance due to white neon lighting! The insulation is so bad that you can hear loudly noises from other rooms or even from people passing by! Breakfast menu is poor with the same limited ,tasteless food every day and sometimes food was not prepared properly (like burned egg roll!). The swimming pool and the jacuzzi room are nice but no attending staff Overall, staff was not professionally trained! Resort claims as a 4* hotel but felt like a 3* with 2*staff. The only helpful staff that we recognize is Mr. Tuần Anh, the bell boy. We were so excited to spend 4 nights at this resort but were disappointed since it did not meet our expectations for services of 4* nor as advertisement and pictures shown on the web!

Everything was fine until I almost slipped and fell twice because the stairs were too slippery. this is very dangerous. However, I will still recommend it to friends and will return here in the future. New resort & very nice, clean & nature..
