Dinner is a kaiseki meal with lean beef steak grilled on a stone slab as the main dish. Mr. Nakai is a foreigner, but he does his best to explain the dishes. I was satisfied with the quantity and taste. The catering staff was moving very quickly and it felt good. After dinner, there was a picture-story show by the proprietress. It was about 15 minutes, but seeing the proprietress's heartfelt picture-story show made me feel very nostalgic. There was also an explanation of Shima Onsen. When my son saw the picture-story show for the first time, he became a fan of the proprietress. The second time, after the picture-story show, my son was very happy to have a two-shot with the proprietress. When you return to your room after dinner, the futons are spread out and you can sleep right away. My bed is always my home, so the futon in the Japanese-style room is somewhat fresh. The open-air bath was open to men and women at different times, but it was spacious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even after 5:00 in the morning, I went to the open-air bath in the dark and woke up perfectly. Breakfast was also very good. Check-out is at 11:00, so buy souvenirs at the shop before that. If you pay by credit card, it will be smoother if you ask them to charge the room before checking out. When I left the entrance, the staff took out my shoes, everyone greeted me in a loud voice, and I was able to leave comfortably. On the way back, when I took a family photo in front of the entrance, the staff came immediately and took it for me. Shima Onsen wasn't a big tourist spot, but it was a very good place to go to the hot springs with your family.

You also can take complimentary ice creams and probiotic drinks (opened at certain time period) in front of bathing facilities. There’s an onsen facility if you want to have a nice relaxing hot bath. Don’t expect the hotel staff to speak fluent English here, though.
