Service staff is efficient, limited parking but you can also park at the train station which is couple minutes walk away. room size is standard for japanese business hotel, opening luggage was okay for me. all basic amenities were provided. breakfast option is pretty good with the local specialty butadon included.

New or well maintained hotel with great breakfast. The room that we got was really amazing. Corner room with two long pan windows overseeing the mountain ranges. The view was so beautiful in fact the most beautiful hotel room view from all the hotels we had booked for Hokkaido. Another thing to commend was there bath gel and shampoo. Pola brand smelled too good that I purchased 3 bottles from the counter. 3300 yen per bottle no tax free. Really enjoyed my stay here and will be back in the future.

Love this place. The suite has a washing machine and dryer!! The whole place is new and clean! Love it!

I've always yearned to visit Eastern Hokkaido, so I made a special trip from Sapporo by JR train to Obihiro. The two-and-a-half-hour journey took me through the mountains of central Hokkaido, finally arriving in this central city of the Tokachi Plain on the afternoon of March 13, 2026. Coincidentally, my room number was 313. When I opened the curtains, the JR train station was to my immediate right, and the Obihiro bus terminal to my immediate left. While Obihiro Station is almost encircled by hotels, the Richmond's location is absolutely superb. After getting off the train, I turned right (West Exit) from the ticket gate, walked about 30-40 meters to the end, faced a small shopping mall, and then turned right again (north side). I spotted the hotel immediately, even before exiting the building – no navigation needed! The room was spotless and incredibly comfortable. After checking in, I quickly went downstairs and explored the area around the hotel. The city was impeccably clean and remarkably quiet. I've never fallen in love with a city at first sight like this before. It's no longer just about whether the hotel is good; now I'm seriously considering moving to Obihiro. The next morning, I started my bus tour early and didn't return until after 9 PM. On the morning of the 15th, I had breakfast at the hotel's buffet restaurant. The restaurant is called 'Ye Guang Bei' (Night-glowing Cup), but it's perfectly fine for breakfast. You can get 'tipsy' even without alcohol here! I love this hotel, and I love this city.

We want to see warmer and more smiles from their reception staff. We spent a total of 7 nights in Hokkaido. The Richmond Hotel is the last night. I made this comment based on my experience from my last 6 nights stay in Hokkaido.

Very good stay and friendly staff. They even gave us a welcome drink ticket to use it in the restaurant of the hotel.

This hotel is conveniently located opposite to the JR station where there are quite a few shops to visit. The room is tiny but the air conditioning is very efficient and the rook facilities are up to standard. Once again, although the facilities are not very good, the welcome drink is a surprise and the very good quality bf is a plus.

The beds are clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located directly opposite Obihiro Station. They also offer complimentary welcome drinks, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Wonderful experience after 1 year past to stay again and the hotel never disappoints me. Sincere staff clean environment and nice breakfast which always makes me feel welcome and comfortable. No doubt it will be my only option for next trip to Obihiro.

close to JR station, full of personal amenity set, welcome drink is a bonus, restaurant service is better than expected, really love this hotel.

This is a resort if you want to be away from the towns and cities. Essentially, the feasible dining option (other than driving 12 minutes to the towns) would be the hotel restaurant which charges a somewhat expensive price for the quality they provide. Every facility is chargeable — ping pong tables, karaoke rooms, bicycle rentals are more expensive than outside the hotel, and the onsen pump was not working while we were there. Somehow I did not feel the warmth or hospitality of the place. Somewhat felt underwhelmed for a hotel which could do much better.
