San Paolo Palace Hotel

San Paolo Palace Hotel

📍 Via Messina Marine, 91, Palermo
★★★★ 8.1 (89 reviews)

"Quality-price ratio is quite good on this hotel. However, if you are walking there it is a bit far from the main attractions and you have to walk through a very shady area during the night time. Rooms are spacious but old, would need some renovation, for example most power plugs did not work on our room. The breakfast was quite good for the price."

Hotel Politeama

"Loved the hotels location & style. Only issue was that the bed was very hard & pillows were also not that soft. Restaurant/bar on the roof was fantastic. Great choice of wine & great service. Also great view of the square & city below."

"The hotel isn't very modern, but it has everything you need. Excellent location, even with paid parking available for €25 per day. Friendly and helpful staff. I booked a double and two singles, which turned out to be a futon and a sofa bed. I wish I'd known this beforehand."

Hotel Villa d'Amato Hotels in Palermo

Hotel Villa d'Amato

"My room was in the basement, and the first floor (seemed like maybe staff moving furniture around?) was very noisy after midnight. Lots of footsteps, talking, and the sound of moving furniture. It went on for hours both nights. I was also woken up at 8am my first day by someone knocking on my door. I assume it was the maid, but i can’t be sure. It was way too early to expect to be able to clean a room. The bed was hard and creaky (there were three beds in my room, not sure why as I booked a room with a single queen bed) with no real blanket. It was fairly clean, though there was some hair in the sink and shower that did not belong to me. The shower was the biggest problem as it was a fairly narrow stall shower, and the drain needs to be cleaned out - the shower flooded after just a few minutes. The furniture is all very old, and the lighting in the room was incredibly dim. It did not feel inviting or look anything like the pictures in the listing. The location is nearly an hour’s walk from Palermo Centrale and in another direction, nearly an hour’s walk from the Palazzo Butera. Unless you just want to visit the beach, it is not convenient at all. Even just buying water was a chore with the closest shop being about a quarter mile away. The city tax listed on Trip is incorrect. You will need to pay three euros per day. Overall, I would not stay here again."

Splendid Hotel la Torre Hotels in Palermo

Splendid Hotel la Torre

"Overall, everything was fine. Except for the monotonous breakfasts, although they were delicious and plentiful. The shower in the room also leaked a bit. They clean daily and very well. The pool with sea water is excellent, and the access to the sea is quite convenient."

Hotel del Centro Hotels in Palermo

Hotel del Centro

"One thing about this hotel that i will definitely come back is the location, cleanliness and its right in front of the supermarket . I recommend you to take double room and its so affordable :) . And don't forget to bring cash for tourist tax. Well, I don't have many comments about this hotel because i feel comfortable and got what i need especially for solo traveling who wants to explore palermo :)"

Liberty Suites Hotels in Palermo

"Overall great location, very clean and staff were very helpfull. Could be a bit noisy in morning since room close to reception but this is dependant of visitors. Overall, we had a great time. Keep in mind that no safe in room. Would definitely book again."

Mercure Palermo Centro Hotels in Palermo

Mercure Palermo Centro

"Excellent location within walking distance of Politeama and various restaurants/shops. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, with a pretty breakfast room. Our room and bathroom were a good size with good wifi signal. The bed was comfortable and clean. Regarding the view, our room was facing the inner courtyard so we had a view of private apartments opposite so no city view. Also it didn't have a balcony or working air conditioning as advertised and booked. This meant the room was a bit smelly and stuffy so we had to sleep with the windows open and got quite bitten by mosquitoes. Overall we would stay again but in a room with a balcony and air conditioning as advertised."

Le Stanze Dell'Emiro

"Everything was perfect. Salvo and his wife are wonderful people, and you feel right at home with them! My husband and I stayed two nights at this B&B, which is about a 20-minute walk from the historic center. They offer an airport shuttle (which we took advantage of), and they offered us coffee upon arrival. Daniela gave us a very detailed and precise itinerary of everything we could see in two full days in Palermo, and I have to say, it was perfect! Thank you!!!! The breakfast was very good, and the location is quiet, so you can rest well...we had everything we needed! I highly recommend it! Thanks again, Salvo and Daniela!"

"It is a very old mansion. The outside is dilapidated. I didn't expect the bathroom and bedroom to be separated. It was very inconvenient to walk up dozens of steps with luggage. The new decoration is relatively clean."

Ambrosia - Timeless Hosting Hotels in Palermo

Ambrosia - Timeless Hosting

"Myself and my partner visited Palermo for five days, for her 30th birthday. After endless searching for a place to stay, I landed on Ambrosia Timeless Hosting and decided to book. What a lucky find this place is: Maria Chiara and the hosts are excellent, welcoming you into this beautifully restored house with spotless and well appointed rooms and providing you with a whole map of recommendations for things to do and places to eat and drink in Palermo and beyond. They even went out of their way to arrange a Setteveli cake for my girlfriend’s 30th, complete with a birthday message, which made the day all the more special. Do not hesitate to book - the excellent, kind hosts, the beautiful rooms, comfy beds, and amazing showers, all in an unbeatable central location (it’s right next to Palermo Cathedral) - make this place the perfect place to stay in Palermo. We will definitely be back!"

"Located next to the port, offering views of the beach and cruise ships, and a 30-minute walk from the train station. The downsides are noise and poor soundproofing in the rooms. There are many restaurants nearby, making dining convenient."

Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa ★★★★
"After all, friends who come to Catania should not come to see high-rise buildings. Stay here, stroll the streets, appreciate the unique style of the island, taste Italian folk snacks, and visit the secluded ruins. After all, many of the dilapidated places along the way may disappoint you, but staying here can balance them all."

"I booked 2 nights with my family on the weekend of July 20th choosing the Warhol Suite. The Hotel is located in a nice area of Palermo a few hundred meters from the Politeama and is inside a historic building. The entrance is characterized by a really vintage elevator (one of those that have a wooden cabin with double opening doors, not exactly modern I would say). The Warhol Suite at first glance seemed really nice but as soon as we unpacked our bags we noticed: 1 - The toilet in the bathroom was moving and all it took was for my 11-year-old daughter to use it and flush the toilet for the water to invade the floor; I immediately reported the problem and the lady at the reception told us that she would report the problem and look for someone (it was Saturday afternoon so I understand that it was difficult to find someone but the problem is that the leak had been there for a long time ...); 2 - The handles of the bathroom fixtures and the cabinet were all torn off and not fixed, the bathroom walls had stains, a sign that the rooms have lacked continuous maintenance over time; 3 - The terraces of the room are really small and suffer from the old, not to say worn, character of the facades of the Palace; 4 - The next day we had breakfast which was very good but it's a shame that to have a yogurt or even a glass of water you have to ask the lady who prepares breakfast; in two days I have not seen a buffet of anything, unlike the advertised photos; It's a shame because on paper it was a really nice place but given the price per night, I find these inconveniences truly inconceivable so I will certainly never return and I hope that this objective review will be helpful."

"Despite some negative comments, perhaps from people who stayed on the first floor, we were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The wait staff was extremely friendly, the breakfast was excellent, the room was clean, and the parking was free. The only downside was the poor soundproofing in the rooms, but it was completely quiet after 11 p.m."
