"It’s a large onsen hotel and close proximity to the station and shopping street. Everything is very organised arrangement for hot spring time, dinner and breakfast time. "Awesome ryokan with history! Very convenient to get to the place. The train offers beautiful views of the Hida Valley, mountain rivers and cute villages, this already prepares for a super experience. The purple bus will meet you at the station and take you up the mountain.
The ryokan is huge and consists of several buildings. And even if there are many guests in the ryokan, you will get a really calm and peaceful stay. The rooms are in a traditional style, each one is different from the other. The rooms are spacious and very beautiful. The windows open up to views of the mountains, the forest. The ryokan itself is like a labyrinth, you can wander through the corridors and each time find a treasure: private onsens, billiards, a rest room, a viewing site. I took a room with an onsen inside, and I never regretted it. It was wonderful to sit in my own onsen with a view of the mountains and admire the sunset. An unforgettable experience. The public onsen is also great. There is an indoor bath and an outdoor bath with wonderful decoration. The kaiseki dinner is also great. It is brought to your room. It is very tasty, entertaining and exciting. Each dish is elegantly served, served on the most beautiful tableware, which makes it equal to art. "My stay at this hot spring hotel was disappointing, especially in terms of food and service. The dinner experience lacked any semblance of service standards. The food was already placed in the room before we entered, and the waiter merely asked if we lit the fire without offering explanations or providing a menu. They also kept forgetting different cutlery for various dishes, making the experience feel chaotic and unprofessional. The food itself was very ordinary, far below the quality I've experienced at other hot spring hotels.
The private onsen was another letdown, as the water switch was broken, leaving us unable to adjust the temperature or flow. This meant enduring uncomfortably hot water throughout. Breakfast was similarly disappointing—simple and uninspired, offering no surprises or variety. Overall, this hotel fell well short of the standard expected from a hot spring retreat."

"Lovely onsen ryokan. Staff don’t really speak English so there’s a bit of trying to figure things out for yourself. Nevertheless, service was friendly and helpful as best they could. The outdoor onsen is really relaxing and because it’s not a crowded hotel, both times I went I had it to myself as did my wife and kids in the ladies area. We picked the room with its own outdoor onsen tub which is a great option if you don’t want to use the non-private ones. You can apparently book private onsens but they did not have any available for us (possibly because we arrived slightly late in the day). Food was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. Kids couldn’t;’quite enjoy the onsens cause they found the water too hot so you may want to make sure your kids can before you decided to splurge. One final point, the ryokan is located down a tiny road on the right just before Google Maps tells you that you have reached."

"The hotel is settled in the middle of Gero Hot Spring town, short walk from the train station and can also be reached via bus from Kamikochi area.
The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. You can feel the spirit of older times in this hotel with a lot of beautifully selected decoration pieces.
The manager showed us around and even offered us a new room since I accidentally booked one without shower (we declined that offer since we only wanted to stay for one night). That’s why we used the Onsen area for showering which is beautiful and includes all amenities. View above Gero and including an outside Onsen area to watch the sunrise.
The staff was very friendly, the manager even drove us to the bus station since we forgot our jackets in the bus. The bar is well-equipped and a great place for a drink or two.
One of the best parts was the breakfast. Never had such a good Japanese breakfast before- delicious, served in a private room, beautifully arranged. Next time we want to try their dinner :-)
We felt like family and I can recommend anyone going to Gero to stay at this great hotel! Thanks again for your hospitality!"

"This was my first time using this hotel, but it was non-union so I took the train to the site.
I had booked a shuttle bus from Gero Station so they took me to the hotel.
The room was spacious and clean.
Dinner and breakfast were served as a buffet.
Even though it was a weekday, there were a lot of guests and dinner reservations could only be made at 5pm or 8pm.
When eating, everyone was greedy as if they were fighting for food, which was a shame, but there won't be another time!
There was an indoor bath, an outdoor bath, and a sauna.
It's a popular hotel so it's good if you're concerned about price."

GGuest UserThe hotel has few rooms, but it is very clean, tidy and warm. The food is Japanese style and the ingredients are very fresh. The indoor and outdoor hot springs are on two different floors, which is not very convenient. The service is very good. When checking in, they will introduce the hotel facilities and some precautions for check-in. Every service staff is very enthusiastic. Alipay and UnionPay cards are not accepted for payment at check-out, and it is not very convenient to use cash.

TTrave- The outdoor area of the hot spring is small, so two or three people can use it. Anyway, I didn't see anyone else using the hot spring when I checked in. It might be because I checked in late. I didn't see anyone soaking in the hot spring in the morning. It might be because breakfast is at 8 o'clock at the latest, check out at 10 o'clock, and the hot spring is closed at 9 o'clock. My skin did feel smoother after soaking in the hot spring.
- The room is simply furnished and the decoration is not too outstanding;
- On the contrary, the lobby is more old-fashioned. I really like the old Japanese coffee shop culture and layout, which fully demonstrates the fusion of Japanese and Western coffee culture. I really like the layout of the coffee corner;
- We really had to arrive before 6pm, but I took the wrong road and other factors made me arrive 45 minutes late. I suggest you communicate with the trip customer service first and let the hotel coordinate the meal (I had ordered dinner), but it was indeed not easy to drive and communicate on the highway.
- The restaurant is well decorated and nice for taking photos. The food is average, but the taste is not amazing.
- In summary: The price/performance ratio is high. After all, with a full schedule every day and rushing to the next destination, there is no need to stay in a very large hotel.

GGuest UserExcellent! Very satisfied for this onsen hotel!! Definitely recommend this accommodation to friends and family. Everything is over expectation: services, facilities, room, public bath (onsen), food, and all. One drawback would be language barrier between some staff, but they really trying to communicate with us which is impressive. Also, there is a free shuttle bus service between train station and hotel during daytime, very convenient. Tips for me is to book this hotel on weekdays, it is half price cheaper than weekends or holidays.

曾曾Gero Hongyekan Wanboting is really great! In Japan's three famous springs, Geroizumi, the service is very good. There is an open-air bath on the roof of a sister hotel, and there is a car to pick up and drop off at any time from 9 to 12 in the evening, which is very convenient. The water quality is so good, the sun that soaks up the skin will slide down when it falls on it. A wonderful hotel experience! The beauty at the front desk drove me out to buy urgently needed products when I was in an emergency. Every detail was great. The Japanese-style room was also spacious. I really like this place. I will definitely go again if I have a chance, and I will definitely stay here again. hotel. Breakfast is included, and the environment and ceremony are very beautiful! The winding mountain road finally drove to this hot spring hotel. The room is clean and very large. There are two super large cherry trees and rolling mountains when you open the window. It is really amazing. It was raining and foggy on the day of check-in. The hot spring has indoor and outdoor. It is open 24 hours a day and there are few people. After soaking in the hot spring, I had a glass of milk, which was really comfortable. The breakfast and dinner were also very good. They were all in the form of set meals. If you feel that it is not enough, you can also add some snacks. It is not bad for this price.

Ssjf1986aaaIt is a sister hotel with Fugaku next door. Before we even got to the door, the old man of the hotel came over to confirm whether we were staying. The names of the people matched. When we left, the old man was waiting for us at the door very early. When we went out for a walk, he also thoughtfully prepared a map for us. The service of the older generation of Japanese is really amazing. There is a special room for breakfast and dinner, which tastes good. There is a private bath in the room. Open the window to the outdoor private bath. Hehe, there are several hot springs upstairs and downstairs. My wife took a bath three times a day and soaked in all the hot springs. Gero is not big, so it is suitable for a leisurely stroll for half a day, eating some snacks, returning to the hotel to taste food, watch the snow, and take a bath.

DDonovan_lIt was a comfortable, family-run Ryokan style inn. There is free parking for those who drive. It is also walking distance from the train station. We arrived after dark and the staff told us there was no more dinner, so they recommended us a dinner place nearby.
For breakfast which was included, it was a full set and really delicious Japanese platter. We ate to our heart’s content. The onsen is located on the basement and the 4th floor, I like it specially for the rooftop onsen. The men and women onsen will swap at certain timings to allow each gender to enjoy the facilities at the rooftop. They give clear instructions on a piece of paper, and you just need to look at the colour of the cloth hanging outside the onsen. The hotel is located near the town centre, so you can walk around easily.

RRex Wong HKThe overall experience was very satisfactory, and the Mandarin-speaking waiter arranged for us from Hong Kong and the communication was smooth. There is no shuttle bus at the location, but it takes more than ten minutes to walk from the JR station. If the luggage is not heavy, it is not too far. The hotel is beautiful, there is a letter shop at the beginning, and there is a foot bath hot spring pool. The seventh floor is a separate hot spring pool for men and women, with an open-air pool. The male soup faces the direction of the station and sees different scenery sooner or later. The female soup is very private, but there is no scenery. It seems that you can order private baths for men and women, but we have no time to try this time.
The room is large, you can choose to make a bed, there is no problem for four people, but this time it is only my girlfriend and I. The view of the stream outside the room is particularly beautiful at night, but it is very light in the morning. It is recommended to bring your own blindfold to sleep later. There are special activities on Saturday, there are many performances and stalls, very atmospheric.
Finally, meals, breakfast and dinner can not be missed, you can enjoy at a few designated times. We stayed for two nights, two days have different menus, the dishes have signature flying yak and fish raw, but the cooking method is different, very pleasant, it is recommended that two nights do not need to transfer to the hotel.
