Guest UserOn June 28, 2026, at 7:00 AM, after a high-speed train and a slower 'green-skin' train journey, we finally arrived at the Golmud Huanghe International Hotel. The friendly front desk lady warmly welcomed us and quickly processed our check-in. She even thoughtfully gave us two breakfast vouchers and advised us to rest well at the hotel after eating to acclimatize to the high altitude, rather than engaging in strenuous activities right away.
The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient for dining and shopping. It also has its own parking lot, which is very friendly for self-driving tourists. The guest rooms are spacious, bright, clean, and hygienic, and the housekeeping staff diligently cleaned them every day. The hotel breakfast was abundant, offering both Chinese and Western options, as well as ******* tsampa and milk tea. The freshly prepared beef noodles were particularly good. They delivered complimentary fruit and snacks every day. On two occasions when we left early for a day tour, they even prepared packed lunches for us.
The lobby manager, Xiaofang, was incredibly kind. She gave us a discount when we extended our stay and even added us on WeChat, checking in daily to see how we (being seniors in our sixties) were adapting to the high altitude. The Golmud Huanghe International Hotel truly felt like a warm and considerate temporary home for us in the highlands. We are very grateful for the efforts of every staff member at the hotel. Our trip to the Northwest highlands was delightful, and none of our initial worries materialized; we completed our high-altitude itinerary smoothly. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you visit Golmud. Five-star rating!

Although our stay was short, this was by far the best hotel we stayed at during our Qinghai-Gansu trip.
First, let's talk about the service. On the evening of July 7th, when we checked in, there was a dedicated security guard who helped guide us and park our car. Upon entering, the hotel staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to assist us with check-in. There were also staff members dedicated to helping us with our luggage and delivering it to our room. The next morning at breakfast, the chefs greeted every guest warmly, and the breakfast was delicious!
Facilities: The entire room had oxygen supply and a humidifier.
Highly recommended!

lun02Hotel was excellent, the staffs managed to arrange for me to check-in early despite check-in time to be usually at 2pm, I managed to put my bags down and rest and catch my day trip in Golmud, furthermore they also helped reschdule my breakfast and also informed me on the laundry services available. Overall, staying at Kaibang Hotel is the smoothest and most enjoyable experience

Paolo FuI stayed here in August during a Qinghai–Gansu trip with my girlfriend. The staff were consistently professional, helpful, and kind.
The hotel is modern and offers a good range of amenities, including a gym and laundry facilities. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of both local and international options.
The only drawback was the soundproofing, as some noise from the neighbouring room could be heard. I would recommend asking specifically for a quiet room when booking.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would happily recommend this hotel +++++

Guest UserThis hotel absolutely deserves a five-star rating, and I highly recommend it. I've stayed in countless hotels, but this one truly blew me away – it's a hidden gem for any trip to the Northwest. The location is superb, nestled right in the heart of the Yardang landform. You've got the popular cliff slide, breathtaking sunsets that set the perfect mood, and the Milky Way visible just by looking up, all within reach. Step outside, and you're at the desert pool and the emerald-green salt lake. In the evenings, there's a bonfire and a fireworks show. You honestly don't need to rush around visiting various attractions; just staying at this hotel makes your trip feel complete. The butler even prepared a small birthday gift for me, which was so touching!

Guest UserI had a wonderful stay! The room was spacious and well-designed, spotlessly clean, and completely odor-free. The bed was so soft and comfortable, I slept like a baby. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and there was plenty of hot water, with all the essential amenities provided. The hotel staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and friendly. The location is super convenient for transportation, yet the surroundings are peaceful and quiet. It’s definitely an excellent choice for a trip.
The hygiene was top-notch; there wasn't a speck of dust or dirt anywhere, and the room was well-ventilated with a comfortable temperature. The soundproofing was fantastic, making for a truly quiet night's rest. The facilities were excellent, with soft, pleasant lighting. The staff were responsive and friendly. This hotel offers much better value for money than others in its price range, and I would genuinely recommend it and definitely return.

Guest UserThe hotel is a bit on the outskirts, but the parking is convenient. Hotels right by the night market usually have bad parking. It's about a 4-minute drive to the night market. If you're fit, walking there is also an option. However, with elderly people and children experiencing altitude sickness, walking isn't ideal. You can take a taxi, but driving there is tough for parking. By the night market, I highly recommend Lao Guo's boneless yak meat! The hotel rooms have oxygen concentrators. We arrived quite late, and the security guard on duty was really nice. He helped us get our bags to the room, set up the oxygen concentrator, and even brought disposable oxygen tubes. It was cool at night, and we were worried about severe altitude sickness, so we just did a quick wash-up. Overall, it was good. The next day, it was very convenient to drive to Chaka Salt Lake.

Guest UserI arrived in Chaka Town in the evening, and this small town surprised me with its cleanliness and tranquility, far exceeding my expectations. The hotel was located on a quiet side street off the main road, with parking and staff to guide guests. The front desk provided breakfast and a salt bag, and proactively asked if I needed water when I left. In short, if you're going to Chaka Salt Lake, this small place and its small hotel are your first choice.

Guest UserThis stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's location is superb, with easy access to transportation, and it's close to attractions and a great food street. The lobby is both luxurious and welcoming, and the front desk staff were quick, warm, and friendly during check-in. The room was thoughtfully designed, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I slept wonderfully. The hotel's dining options were also excellent, with a wide variety and delicious food. All in all, everything was perfect.

The hotel shares a parking lot with other nearby shops, but fortunately this hotel uses cones to reserve parking spaces, and the price is cheap, which is an advantage. But then I want to talk about its shortcomings: First of all, I guess it is actually a city convenience hotel that has ended its cooperation, so it changed its name to ”Chengshi”, and lost unified quality control. This led to problems such as deformed windows and poor hygiene. In addition, the laundry room is actually just a decoration, because there was half a bucket of rancid acid water left in one washing machine, the door of another could not be opened, and a foul odor emanated from the groove for detergent. However, the hotel did not raise prices during the May Day holiday, which is a very conscientious behavior. So I didn't give it a very low score. If you don't have high requirements for the above situation, you can still try it.
