MM2h4k76m4****I can't praise this hotel enough! The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, always responding to our needs instantly. The room was spotless; the sheets and duvet covers were fresh and clean, and there wasn't a speck of dust anywhere, even in the corners. The facilities were excellent, with plenty of convenient charging outlets. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, including buns, porridge, and fruit â a truly satisfying Chinese breakfast. The late-night congee service was the most thoughtful touch; a bowl after coming back in the evening was so comforting and heartwarming. I'll definitely be back!

As I'm from Germany and don't have a Chinese phone, I couldn't get online. The staff went above and beyond, helping me set up internet access on my phone. They even provided me with a delicious breakfast free of charge!
The hotel room was spacious, clean, and came with a super comfortable large bed.
I traveled from Germany to Jinan for surgery, and being able to return to the hotel for a good rest after my operation was a huge relief!
Today, at check-out, they even gave me a lovely pastry as a farewell gift!
Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality! I hope to have the opportunity to visit Jinan again and stay at your hotel once more!

According to Trip.comâs grading system, The Madison Hotel is listed as a Trip Plus 4-star hotel, but based on our recent stay, we believe it falls short of that rating. While we had a mostly pleasant experience, there were noticeable issues that prevent us from agreeing with the 4-star classification.
The Positives
- Check-in & Staff: The reception team was friendly, and one staff member could communicate a little in English, which was helpful.
- Room Comfort: Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed. The air conditioning worked well and allowed individual adjustment.
- Amenities: We appreciated the complimentary bottled waters and two soft drinks restocked daily in the fridge.
- Location: The hotel is conveniently located inside Wanda Mall, making shopping and dining easily accessible.
The Negatives (Why Itâs Not 4-Star)
- Cleanliness Issues: The room wasnât cleaned to a 4-star (or even 3-star) standard. We found nail clippings on the bedside mat, indicating poor vacuuming.
- Shower Water Pressure: The water pressure in the shower was quite low, which was inconvenient.
- Breakfast Limitations: While the Asian food options were good, there were very few Western choices. Additionally, the Western cutlery felt sticky and wasnât properly cleaned.
- Staff Sleeping at Reception: On our second morning, when we tried to check out early, the reception staff were asleep on the couches. We understand they may have been exhausted, but this is unprofessional for a 4-star hotel.
Final Verdict
The Madison Hotel is a decent option, but weâd rate it as a solid 3-star hotel, not 4-star. If you prioritize location and comfort over luxury service and cleanliness, itâs a reasonable choice. However, management should address housekeeping and staff training to meet higher standards.
Would we stay again? Possibly, but with adjusted expectations.

GGuest UserEnvironment: It takes less than 5 minutes to get to the Laotun subway station, which is very convenient.
Hygiene: The room is spacious, clean and tidy, and you can see that it is cleaned frequently.
I soaked in the bathtub after a tiring day, which was very comfortable đ, and I felt that every pore was taken care of.
Service: I checked in at almost 11 o'clock in the evening. The waiter was very friendly and not impatient at all.
When I entered the room, I saw the prepared snacks. People who like to eat midnight snacks said it was very heartwarming đ„°
Facilities: The do not disturb function in the room is really great. I can sleep until the sun rises the next day. It's really great.
Once the curtains are drawn, no one loves them. The airtightness is great.
When I left, the souvenirs I was given included masks. Tears welled up in my eyesđ„č. I didn't expect there would be so many catkins in Jinan when I came here, so I didn't prepare them. I didn't expect the hotel to be so considerate and prepare them. When I arrived near Baotu Spring, there were as many catkins as the wind. Thanks to the hotel for providing themđ·đ„ł
I will come to this hotel again next time I come to Jinan. The bed is very comfortable and everything is great. I don't want to leaveđ

NNatDiscoversAsiaItâs within walking distance to Jinan Railway so itâs a good hotel to consider when you are using HSR - but do note that most HSR will go to Jinan West station which is not so near tourist attractions. I cab almost everywhere from this hotel as Jinanâs road traffic is chaotic, making walking to nearby tourist attractions a bit overwhelming for foreigners. Itâs not near the metro station but donât use metro, as it does not lead you directly to attractions like what other China cities do and you need to figure out the transfers.
That said itâs within walking distance (20-30min careful walk dodging all the charging scooters and unfriendly cyclists) to the more decent attractions like their old CBD area which is great for street photography. If I am to choose again Iâll stay nearer to the spring clusters since Iâm going to cab everywhere anyway as those area seems more vibrant.
In addition this hotel appears to host big groups which make having a peaceful breakfast impossible. When Iâm trying to have an early breakfast as early as 7am when breakfast start serving so that I can start my day early, I was shocked to see the entire cafeteria crowded with tourists. I have to delay the breakfast for 40min so that I get a place to eat in peace.

OOtautahianThis hotel is about a 15 minute walk south of Ji'nan West station, so is a good choice if you want to stay near the station, but is quite far from the tourist attractions in the city center.
My room was big and quiet, and the laundry room and gym were large and very secure.
I gave the service full marks in this review because although there was a small incident, the two reception staff I talked to werw very courteous, and one later came to my room with some consolation gifts as a sign of good faith đ

It took us a little time to find the exact location of the hostel because we did not realise that it shares its ground-floor entrance with another hotel in the same building.
Check-in was straightforward: the receptionist was very friendly and showed us around, explaining the basic rules.
There are separate rooms for women and men; ours had ten bunk beds and a locker. Extra luggage can be stored in a secure luggage room.
Both the room and the bunk bed were very clean. There is a small cupboard and a socket inside each bunk bed. This is very convenient. The room also has air conditioning, but this can be annoying if you have the bed right next to it and cannot agree with your roommates on a suitable temperature at night. In such cases, having a consistent room temperature would be a better solution.
There are separate shared bathrooms and showers for men and women, as well as a cosmetic table and washing machines.
There is also a community room with a great view, access to a spacious balcony, a fitness area, a coffee/water station, and some other soda and ice machines. The community area has a bar, a home cinema, sofas and tables, as well as a tea corner. This area is great for meeting interesting people.
The lake is within walking distance, as is the public transport.
Overall, we had a great time there. The staff are welcoming, and there's a family atmosphere. We would choose to stay there again if we visit Jinan again!
