The breakfast was quite ample, offering coffee, tea, and snacks. Upon checkout, we received a souvenir and they helped us take our luggage to a spot where we could easily catch a taxi. Dining options nearby were convenient, and within walking distance, we could buy souvenirs and try the delicious Ginger Duck. The young man at the front desk was incredibly patient and helpful in explaining tour routes and recommending places to eat. A big thank you to him! He was a very handsome, fair-skinned young man. Unfortunately, I'm getting older and forgot his name! So embarrassing! I arrived on March 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
The room I booked was 50 square meters, on the 5th floor, with direct elevator access. It was spacious, tidy, and clean, with a nice color scheme for the decor. The bed was comfortable, and the duvet wasn't too heavy. I chose this hotel for three main reasons: 1. The room had ample space, with plenty of areas to place luggage (saving space), and the two chairs were a crucial addition. 2. Its location: within the ancient city, making transportation relatively convenient. We could reach major attractions by taking the scenic shuttle bus. 3. It's very close to Guandi Temple, just an 8-minute walk, which was perfect for enjoying the temple's beautifully lit night view.
Furthermore, it's worth mentioning a few things: the storage shelves were a great solution for increasing storage space, the touch-activated call button was clean and convenient, and it's rare to see a storage rack in the shower area, which was excellent. The shower water pressure was good, the drain worked perfectly with no odors, and the exhaust fan was very powerful. All in all, I'm very satisfied! And I'm so glad I chose this place. Highly recommended!

Guest UserEscaping the concrete jungle, I sought refuge in a quiet yet vibrant world, and this B&B perfectly fit the bill. The location is superb, offering close-up views of the East and West Pagodas. It's within walking distance of all the places I wanted to visit and trendy spots, and for slightly further destinations, the convenient 'Xiao Bai' (local transport) made getting around effortless. There were absolutely no transportation worries. The room was clean and hygienic, a relief for someone with a mild潔癖 (cleanliness obsession). I loved the oversized vanity and nightstands, and the projector that connects to your phone. I also really enjoyed the small patch of sunlight reflecting from the water outside the window onto the ceiling. The highlight was undoubtedly the rooftop bar at night; the cocktails were all delicious, and I found myself pleasantly tipsy, toasting to distant friends, captivated by the East and West Pagodas under the night sky. The B&B's service understood my lazy nature perfectly. Any request in the group chat was promptly met. Washed clothes, headphones left on the rooftop, and countless food deliveries were all brought directly to my room door. I was also pleasantly surprised to find very comfortable sanitary pads in the drawer. When I asked if I could have a couple more, they brought four or five, plus a warming patch! My only suggestion is for the rooftop bar to proactively inform guests about alcohol content and suitable patrons. I will definitely be back.

This hotel offers excellent service; the staff are all very warm and welcoming. The drinks, ice cream, and game console at the front desk were a must-have for the kids whenever we left or returned. The roasted sweet potatoes were also delicious – please prepare more! The room was very clean, with great attention to detail. The price increase during the Chinese New Year wasn't too outrageous, which was acceptable. Although the breakfast selection was limited, the ingredients were good, and I especially appreciated the separate sections for raw and cooked food. Quanzhou isn't large; a taxi ride to attractions near West Street usually takes less than 20 minutes. The accommodation was very quiet, which was a big plus.

flubberGrand Honor Hotel is definitely the best hotel in Shishi, but it’s not quite the same level as a luxury hotel in a bigger city. Generally the hotel is clean, but it’s the little things that I noticed, ie when I checked in, there were some sweet wrappers next to the bowl of sweets that weren’t cleared away. That said, the sense of space is evident in the hotel lobby, lifts, corridors and most importantly, the hotel rooms.
Rooms are very spacious and well-designed, although the closet area can definitely do with brighter lights. Most amenities are provided but what put me off is that many items that would have been free in other hotels at this price-range aren’t free at Grand Honor. There is a Chinese tea set on the table and usually the loose leaf tea is provided for free but it cost ¥15 per packet. Honestly it’s not a lot of money for us, but on the flip side, surely the hotel can provide a bag of tea leaves for their guests. There are the standard free single-use packet tea in the drawer so at least there’s that.
In-room slippers are not to be taken out; they’d charge you if you do - and that’s fine, but the slippers are actually really uncomfortable to wear.
The small plate of fruits (banana, plum and mandarin) given at 5pm every day is a nice touch.
The hotel breakfast is probably the highlight. Set on the 22nd floor with panoramic views of the city, breakfast is very enjoyable. The food quality is pretty good, but a real surprise here is the sheer diversity of food. The bread selection alone has 5-6 choices (pastries, brioche, baguette, square toast, etc), the cooked food section is almost endless (and there’s cooked Chinese vegetables! 👏🏾) and then there’s the fruit selection at the end too. My only gripe is that the coffee machine is a bit slow, and there’s only one machine so there can be a wait for coffee.
Location of the hotel is a little odd; good restaurants and the main mall is about 15 mins’ walk away. There aren’t many good shops to wander around nearby.
Generally, this is a solid hotel for this price point. Excellent service with very fast food delivery (using the ubiquitous delivery robots) and friendly front desk staff.

Quanzhou West Lake Hotel boasts an excellent location right next to West Lake Park, offering great transport links. The 'Little White Car' stop right outside provides direct access to the ancient city's core. The hotel facilities are new and comprehensive, with spacious and bright rooms. Some room types even feature oversized floor-to-ceiling windows, offering expansive views of West Lake – truly a sight to behold. The front desk staff are warm and attentive, making check-in a breeze, and the intelligent robot delivery service is a convenient touch. The hotel's quiet environment makes it ideal for families or business travelers, and its high value for money makes it a fantastic choice for visiting Quanzhou.

Firstly, I want to emphasise that the hostel staff are amazing - very friendly and helpful. They helped me sort out a problem with my phone, shared their suggestions of places to visit, and helped me upgrade my room too. So 10/10 for the staff. To give a more honest review of the room though:
Pros: The shared common room area is very spacious, and a great place to meet new friends. There are games and activities available, plus they often organised free social events like card game nights and movies. The dorm room was relatively spacious, with a desk space too. The beds have good privacy curtains. There are plug sockets by each bed for charging phones etc.
Cons: The main issue I have with the dorm rooms is that there is a dedicated bathroom per room. This seems great, until you have a roommate who spends three full hours all morning recolouringtheir hair in there, while the rest of us can't use the toilet or shower.
Other than that, I did feel that the location was a bit inconvenient (I had to drag my suitcase through some kind of dirty building site to get there, and it is about 15 mins walk from the main tourist area). Additionally, the beds were very uncomfortable (they've used foam mattesss toppers on wooden boards, with no actual mattress) and didn't have a shelf next to the bed or any storage lockers for bags. Also the hostel didn't provide towels for dorm room guests (which is usually standard).
After the issue with the roommate hogging the bathroom (who also snored all night too...) I asked to pay the difference to upgrade to a private room. The hostel happily arranged this without any issues, and even prepared the room for me to move into early. This private room was much better - a proper mattress, towels provided, etc. It was a bit noisy when the neighbour turned on their air conditioning (since the unit was right outside the window), but other than that I have no complaints.

Anonymous UserTime flies when you're having fun, and my trip to this thousand-year-old Quanzhou city has come to an end. What I'll remember most is choosing 2208 Inn, which boasts a fantastic location on the busiest street in Quanzhou's city center. The West Gate of the famous Kaiyuan Temple is just across the road from the inn.
From my room at the inn, I could open the window and gaze at the beautiful night silhouette of Quanxi Hall on West Street. I could also hear the bustling crowds of West Street from outside my window. Day or night, the ancient city's streets are lined with a dazzling array of local snacks and delicacies – think Mianxian paste, Ginger Duck, Fujianese crispy pork, with famous eateries right next door. If you want a taste, just head downstairs; they're just a few steps away. Xunpu flower-wearing shops are also everywhere. If you want to try wearing the flowers, just go downstairs, and you can instantly transform into a beautiful flower-wearing girl.
What brought me the most joy was the genuine conversations I had with the inn staff every time I returned. The front desk's handsome and dedicated customer service representative, the proprietress's beautiful smile, and the cleaning auntie's meticulousness and hard work all exemplify the inn's warm and thoughtful hospitality.
Thank you all for giving me such wonderful memories of the ancient city. It makes me recall: in this thousand-year-old city, in this little alley corner, I unexpectedly encountered your vibrant, almost divine, warmth and vitality. It makes me miss the moment the pigeons flew past the Twin Pagodas of Kaiyuan Temple in the morning, the fragrant misty aroma of Tieguanyin tea in an old teahouse in the afternoon, and the golden glow of the sunset over Jinjiang River.
Encounters are always brief! I've already made a promise with you – if I ever come to Quanzhou again, I will undoubtedly choose 2208 Inn without hesitation. As the year draws to a close and a new one begins, I wish the inn even greater prosperity and a booming year ahead!

I went to Quanzhou with my friends and booked a three-bedroom homestay. The location is good, the room is big and very quiet. The bathroom is not very good, a little small, and it is inconvenient for two people to use it at the same time, one to take a shower and the other to blow dry their hair. After all, it is a bit inconvenient to have the toilet sink and the shower together for three rooms. Overall it is not bad, I recommend it.
