The hotel gave a lot of surprises. The performance after sunset was very ceremonial, with strong Sri Lankan local dances and songs, allowing you to immerse yourself in the teardrop of the Indian Ocean.

GGuest UserThe Sunstar hotel is very nice and clean, with the pool area. The hotel was about 10 min walk from the stunning Nilaveli beach. The staff at the Sunstar Hotel were very friendly and accommodating, making sure that all of our needs were met throughout our stay. Overall, I would highly recommend the Sunstar Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Nilaveli.

SSimilorgyThe hotel consists of two two-story houses. The location is excellent, there is only another small hotel nearby. Very quiet and peaceful place. 5 minutes to the main road. 15 minutes to the beach. Friendly caretaker. If something is missing, he will organize everything! Breakfast is brought to the room, there is no kitchen or dining room. There are problems with ants, but they only appear if you leave open food for a long time. Gorgeous balcony on the second floor with a view of the ocean and mountains. Panoramic windows are cool.

MMr Adam PorterGreat location just a short walk from the beach. Dennis was our host when we were there and he was absolutely fantastic, recommended good restaurants, helped organise transport, looked after us at breakfast and made you feel extremely welcome. Rooms are certainly ok for the price you’re paying but refurbishment is needed. Showers didn’t seem to have hot water, air conditioning was great though.
