SAii Phi Phi Island Village

This hotel on Phi Phi Island was a fantastic stay overall. Each room is a standalone bungalow, and many have been recently renovated, giving them a fresh and stylish look that I really appreciated. With two beachfront pools, it truly feels like a perfect vacation getaway. I'd recommend staying for at least two nights, as getting here can be a bit of a journey – first a bus to the pier, then a speedboat for about 1.2 hours, which can be a bit of a hassle. So, definitely plan for a longer stay to make it worthwhile. The hotel is surrounded by a small village, making it convenient for dining and renting longtail boats. What's great is that it's not overly commercialized like Tonsai Pier; it has a wonderful secluded vibe, perfect for a relaxing holiday. I'd even say it's a great alternative to The Racha on Racha Island, which might be a bit pricier due to its closer proximity.

The room was great, but there was a slight issue with the pool where my child's foot got scratched. However, the hotel staff were quick to address the problem and were very caring. They also offer free bicycles and kayak rentals, which was a nice touch.

SAii was by far my favorite hotel this trip! We could go snorkeling anytime, anywhere. I have to give a special shout-out to Apple; her Chinese was incredibly fluent, and she was patient throughout our entire stay. Every single staff member at the hotel was fantastic. We even saw a monitor lizard at SAii and enjoyed cycling through the beautiful gardens, which was incredibly relaxing. Next time I go to Phi Phi, I'll definitely stay here again!

Although the journey was a bit of a hassle, it was definitely worth it. The hotel environment is absolutely stunning and very natural. The front desk upgraded our room, which was a nice bonus. It's incredibly convenient for island hopping; you can book boats directly from the beach. The hotel's restaurant serves great food – we ate there several times and the service was excellent. Honestly, you can have a fantastic time even without going out to sea, as there's a wide range of underwater gear available for rent. The room facilities are well-maintained. We did experience a power trip once, but we contacted the front desk and someone came to fix it very quickly, so it wasn't a major issue. We stayed for three nights and it still felt like it wasn't enough!

The environment and scenery at Saii Phi Phi Island are absolutely stunning, no complaints there. However, getting there was quite a hassle. Definitely avoid arriving at the hotel in the afternoon. The shallow beach by the hotel entrance experiences a significant low tide, so the speedboat has to anchor quite far out at sea. You then have to transfer to a smaller boat, and still walk a long stretch of sandy beach. We waited on the sea from around 1 PM and didn't make it to the hotel until 3 PM. The check-in process was incredibly slow; we waited another hour and finally got into our room past 4 PM. There's no such issue when departing the island at midday, as the speedboat can dock directly at the hotel's small pier. The service was average, but breakfast was pretty good. We booked a spa session, and it offered decent value for money.
