Harmony Hotel

Stay here like living back in history. The owner speaks good English and the location is right in the center of the old city.

We were initially hesitant as we're worried the hotel may be "too old". But we were pleasantly surprised it was renovated to retain the ancient city look and feel. Love the room and the courtyards. It's even better than the ancient city itself. This hotel stay is a must for those seeking a complete and fulfilling stay in an ancient city. Room is extremely clean. We were at other international chain hotels during our tour, but none is as great as this hotel. My friend who is very "sensitive" to "presence" could not sleep well in other hotels, but could sleep very well in this hotel. The location is just a couple of steps off the main street of the ancient city. Same row as the famous "bank". Family runned. Lady boss and family are very fluent in English. So communication is not a problem. They're super friendly and helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended. For those who would like to venture out of the ancient city, do get their assistance to book a reliable and affordable driver to take you around. They even offer free costumes for you to dress up like Qing Dynasty ladies. FREE. A very big thank you to the lady boss for making our stay memorable and fun.

Amazing hotel in the middle of Ancient Pingyao. Only stayed 1 night, but managed to see the major sights within the city walls. The owner was very helpful organising a transfer back to the train station after checking out. The only issue is communication before and after departure as the owner doesn't answer queries sent directly to the hotel. We wanted to arrange a transfer before arrival, but haven't received a reply. Additionally after leaving the hotel we realised that we have left my medication in a portable fridge at reception. Tried calling the hotel several times, but they didn't pick up the phone. Otherwise we had great experience.

From the beginning they were super friendly, kind and helpful! We really appreciate the recommendations and services offered :) The hotel is a walking distance from the main street and is very very pretty, thir old courtyard very well maintained. The room was clean and cozy! Recommended.

2 night stay. Traditional room in quiet courtyard away from the main hotel. Quiet and effective air con. Separate wet room with hot shower, toilet, basin and toiletries. Dining area in the hotel offers extensive choice from a menu of local or Western breakfast options. Nice coffee. Hotel very well located with all main sights within easy walking distance. Friendly and helpful owners who speak good English. Very pleasant stay overall!

They were very helpful and gave me recommendations how to plan my visit in Pingyao. The courtyard looks authentic, lots of decor to look at. The room is nice and clean. Location is perfect, very close to everything . I recommend it and would come back.

The hotel mirrors the atmosphere of the walled city. The Harmony is in a very old building, buikt around an inner courtyard. It is close to the Lower West Gate. English is spoken by the family who run the hotel. Very convenient for all the activities in the city.
