"Very average hotel. It was once one of the most luxurious hotels in Pittsburgh, but it's been in serious decline. There was almost no service, the phone in the room didn't work (you had to go downstairs to get room service), and the cleanliness was average (there were even stains on the sheets). The shops and restaurants inside the hotel are almost closed. It snowed heavily when we checked in, and we couldn't go out during the day. As a result, there was no food in such a big hotel (only one bar was still open)! Finally, due to the overall design of this hotel, almost all the windows in the basic room types are inward facing (the window is opposite a wall), which makes it a bit claustrophobic."

"Worst hotel ever! Because my daughter checked in first, they took advantage of her youth and gave her probably the worst room in the whole hotel, with a window facing an ugly wall covered with pipes. I arrived in the early morning, so I didn't want to make a fuss about it. It turned out that the shower for washing hands was leaking all the time, so I had to put a towel on the floor to avoid slipping. We went out the next day, thinking the room would be cleaned. I also told the front desk that there was a water leak that needed to be dealt with. When I returned to the room at night, I was dumbfounded. The room was still like this, not cleaned at all and no one had dealt with the water leakage. Because it was late at night, I knew it was useless to talk to the front desk, so I didn't go to the front desk. Then, I noticed that the towel rack had also fallen off! Early in the morning on the third day, I ran to the front desk to tell them about these issues. I thought that since I had explained them so clearly, it should be okay. However, when I came back in the evening, they had not been dealt with. I was really pissed off, so I called the front desk to ask for clean towels, and finally a white manager came (it's not that I'm discriminating, the whole hotel is just a bunch of indifferent black staff). I complained right away, but he was the only nice guy who immediately told us not to stay in this room and upgraded us to the governor's suite! The suite was nice, even though it was our last night, it was a bit of compensation. It can be seen that the white manager is also very angry! In short, don't stay at this hotel! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Don't be mad at them! Poor manager, he literally had to clean up and move rooms himself."

Some of the interior doors show rust around the edges, and you can just tell by the carpet in the hallways and rooms that the place has been there a long time. The lobby is nice though, and they keep it and the rooms clean. Our room was spacious and looked pretty good. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the famous DoubleTree cookies were not available which was a letdown."

"Pittsburgh is a truly wonderful city to visit with so much to do. Hotel Monaco is right in the heart of it and an easy walk to the hop on hop off your bus and sporting venues. The tour bus is particularly good as it will take you to up to 21 different stops / spots in Pittsburgh. Hotel Monaco is next to an excellent Italian restaurant. The hotel room service was food and arrived quickly. The Biergarden on the roof and the free drinks for guests from 5 - 6pm daily are both nice touches. I cannot recommend a trip to Pittsburgh highly enough."

"I've heard that I was repeatedly charged by the hotel after I booked a room with Ctrip. Unfortunately, this happened to me too. On the day of check-out, the hotel repeatedly deducted the charge. I communicated with the hotel and the charge was refunded on the same day. However, on the third day, I was charged again, and the amount of the deduction was nearly twice the Ctrip price! After communicating with Ctrip, it was said that the hotel would take 3-5 working days to return the refund, but it has already been four working days... I was very depressed, and I didn’t dare to book the next room with Ctrip."

"When I first got to the hotel I stood there waiting to be called to the desk for 5 minutes. There was no one in front of me, and there were 2 workers. They both looked at me multiple times, but never said a word. Once I was called to the desk, it was a head nod. The hotel is pet friendly and 1 of the staff members are afraid of dogs, so she kept complaining about my 6 MONTH OLD PUPPY. She was going to the front desk claiming she was barking, off the leash etc. but it wasn't true. The breakfast was great, the only thing is, the dishes were dirty. And the lighting is terrible outside at night so it's very hard to find the hotel."
