Pieve Aldina

We had the most wonderful stay at Pieve Aldina! We were visiting Tuscany for our 10 year wedding anniversary, and everything about our stay here was excellent. The hotel has been open for less than a year so all of the facilities were in perfect condition, and the setting in the Tuscany hills was just beautiful. We had booked a junior suite, but the hotel was not full so we were upgraded to a spacious and lovely suite. The rooms were a mix of modern furnishings and old world charm - very well appointed. We had dinner one night at the hotel which was very good, and the breakfasts were also very nice. What made our stay extra special was the fantastic staff. Beatrice and Justine at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of - they gave us excellent recommendations for local wineries (and booked us visits with short notice), and great suggestions on local villages to visit. Daria in the restaurant was also wonderful. She was very welcoming to us at every meal, and she arranged a champagne toast for us on our anniversary day. Fabio the general manager was also very kind and friendly. He checked in on us throughout the stay. We loved this location in Radda - it was a short drive from many great wineries, local restaurants and villages, and it was just beautiful. We will definitely return.

The staff at Pieve Aldina are above and beyond any possible expectations. Everyone took care of us from the moment we arrived at the beautiful hotel. A friend and I spent two nights here and made the most of the staff's local recommendations. Great service, lovely atmosphere, attentive and very personable staff throughout the visit. We had the most wonderful time, the property is truly unique. The small scale - only 22 rooms - ascertains privacy. The food was truly amazing - the breakfast is the best we ever had, simple but delicious, and the dinner was amazing. The staff was kind and very helpful and accommodating. The sound proofing in the room was remarkable and the facilities were brilliant. Thank you so much! We will for sure be back!

Having stayed at the sister hotel in Provence which was stunning, we had high expectations for this hotel. Unfortunately whilst the building is beautiful, the location was stunning and the staff very friendly we were disappointed by the following - The entire property lacks atmosphere. It feels unfinished which maybe is the case as it opened in July . There really is nowhere to sit and relax outside. It’s set up with lots of tables and chairs in which you can’t relax, the dining room is too bright and feels clinical. The inside spaces of the main hotel building are lovely but again nowhere to relax. We were in a junior suite. There was an open clothes area by the bed which was a poor quality and with nowhere to put bags or many clothes. There was no mirror near a plug to do hair. We visited the pool late afternoon only to find towels left from previous users and lunch debris. We didn’t stay there long. It feels unfinished and not enough time or money has been spent on furnishings, equipment and other finishing touches to make the best of a spectacular property. Sadly we would not return as not a 5 star hotel in our personal view. That being said we believe with some time and more investment this hotel could be amazing

Picturesque property. The staff was especially polite and helpful. The room we had was an upgrade to a suite with a beautiful view. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast, both delicious. The weather was a little cool so we didn’t use the pool but the views were very nice.

We used Pieve Aldina as our base hotel for the start and finish of a 12 day cycle tour of Tuscany. Although it was new ( June 2023 ) we trusted the Relais &Chateau brand and the location was ideal for our planned route. We are so pleased we chose this hotel - it is for us a perfect hotel – idyllic rural location, exquisite buildings/rooms, delicious food and wonderful staff. Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful and really made our holiday start and finish perfectly. They I'm sure have many things they wish to improve and change as they develop but right now in September 2023 we love this hotel and will be back. Thank you to all the staff
