Hotel Bergs Suites

Construction works outside make it impossible to sleep in the morning. Otherwise it’s nice design and good location. Consult the hotel if works are completed if you like to wake up late as hotel even serving late breakfast for those who are not an early bird.

Very large rooms, very affordably priced; close to old town, outstanding restaurant right outside the door. Service from the staff was excellent, with advice on seeing the city and arranging for transporation. One negative: music from the nearby restaurant could be loud in late afternoon/early evening.

Very beautiful restored historic building in quiet courtyard with restaurants and coffee shop right outside. Very comfortable spacious rooms well fitted and great view into courtyard. Friendly efficient and helpful staff. Responded immediately if asked for something. When we return to Riga we will definitely stay there again.

What a wonderful, friendly, central, modern hotel. My wife and I were in Riga for 3 weeks (she was studying), I was completing Middlemarch and took some pottery lessons. Our suite, comprised a spacious living/dining /"office" area, a kitchenette (with all the requisite equipment and table ware) one full modern bathroom, and a powder room (how handy that was during 3 weeks!) a bedroom with a very comfortable king sized bed, and the lighting from bedside to bathroom to desk to reading was superb. Housekeeping was always there promptly when we left for the morning, and did a wonderful job. The front desk was extremely helpful, and accommodating beyond all expectations. For instance, we wondered if there could not be a roller for the gym. In less than 24hours there were two rollers in the gym. The location is easy walking to the old city, to the train and bus stations, to all attractions in the "newer" part of the town, and 1/2 block form a network of some of the most beautiful gardens and parks anywhere. The Hotel Bergs is set within a historic plaza where Riga is "happening". But most of all, the front desk made the stay especially pleasant and memorable.

Basic Accommodation The location of this hotel is nice but it is rather stripped down in terms of amenities and service. Limited staff. Virtually no paper products in apartment - no tissues, no paper towels in kitchenette, etc. Breakfast had to be pre-ordered or they needed 30 minutes to make something.

Only breakfast was too minimal compared to other 4-5 star hotels. There didn’t seem to be many other guests, so maybe breakfast was scaled to less visitors. But it was missing some basic stuff like porridge and there was only a handfull of tomatoes and cucumber in small cups. Otherwise the hotel was excellent.
