Rocco Forte Hotel de La Ville

The Hotel de la Ville is a real gem located in the heart of the historical centre. The views from the rooms are spectacular, a dream for any traveller. Cielo Bar on the roof top terrace provides elegant and perfectly prepared cocktails, the service is excellent! Breakfast in the morning is served in the courtyard, a beautiful hidden garden you would find only in fairy tales: the buffet is unbelievable, a true Italian feast and experience! The design of the hotel de la Ville is fresh, contemporary classic, elegant and fun. Thank you for a memorable stay, I can’t wait to go back!

We had a pleasure to spend 5 days at the Hotel and what an experience it was! Each team member went extra mail to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The negroni at Cielo Bar served was the best ever and we highly recommend Mamma Mia signature cocktails. The hotel is decorated with an extreme care to details and the restaurant doesn’t disappoint. Luxury and comfort quarantined here at every step. Truly unique place!

This is the 3rd time staying in this incredible hotel and the most special stay we will ever have in it. We got married in the hotel and it was utterly perfect in every single way. We stayed here back in 2022 when we got engaged and again in 2024 to plan the wedding and each time it just becomes more special and magical. You will see further on how much I talk about the staff, but it is them that make this much more than a hotel and bring the magic to life. They are truly at the top of their game with customer service and go above and beyond. Our suite which we stayed in for four nights was incredible- a big terrace and spectacular views over Rome. The housekeeping was amazing as always and made sure the room was always perfect. We felt so special from the minute we checked in. Ciranza from the front desk was amazing, she walked us to our suite and chatted with use throughout our stay. When I say nothing was too much trouble I mean it. The staff in every department were incredible. Now for what is the most special day in your life, the wedding. It was absolutely perfect in every single way and beyond what we expected. We felt like two kings and that is no exaggeration. Our amazing wedding planner Chiara who dealt with us over the last 2 years to plan was there on the day and ensured everything went perfectly. She went above and beyond and was so helpful with last minute changes due to some guests not being able to make it due to cancelled flights. Chiara made sure our day was perfect and for that we will be forever grateful to her as she made a dream come true. Thank you Chiara! The food, drinks and service was outstanding the whole day and every guest commented on how they have never had better service and in such beautiful surroundings. Luca and his team were great! However, a special mention to Giuliano from the bar staff. On our first day he served us in the bar and was telling us he would be working Saturday at our big day! Well…. This man is just incredible at what he does. He went above and beyond in making sure my husband and I were not only looked after but utterly spoilt all day. Thank you again Giuliano! We will definitely be back at the hotel to mark our anniversary next year and plan to have many more fantastic stays in this amazing property with even more amazing staff. Thank you to everyone that played a part in our big day!

Yes we’re spoiled travelers but the hotel is far below the recommendations. It’s aged, everything from the carpets to the interior paint is worn. The attitude of the staff is one of indifference. When we arrived and asked about an ironing board & steamer the response was that none are available,sorry. This is not a luxury hotel by any measure! I strongly suggest you look elsewhere

De La Ville is a Roma classical hotel that offers a full range of guest services located in the heart of Roma. We were upgraded to a balcony suite. The suite living area was compact and dark while both the bathroom and terrace were bright and large. The rain shower was impressive. Breakfast is the star here and the beautiful restaurant is only open for breakfast. The outdoor terrace is pure Roma in scenery. The buffet features special items like smoked swordfish and tuna along with house smoked salmon. The tomato beans were crazy good. You can order hot items from the menu. Coffee is hot and strong. They have two additional restaurants. Cielo features an outdoor bar on the 6th floor and offers light food items as well. Cielo restaurant is on the 7th floor, rooftop, and the menu is questionable. The other restaurant open for dinner, Cafe Ginori, also has a questionable menu. Sorry when in Roma, at least one restaurant should serve classic Roma food. The concierge recommended La Matricina and it was incredible. Guest services include decent gym, nice spa with ice room, hot and cold baths, steam and sauna and included with your room. The property is located steps from the Spanish Steps, great location. Service for the most part is excellent and the doormen are great for taking care of your needs. Overall, very nice hotel with excellent location and guest services. And breakfast to die for.
