I really like the feeling of this hotel. I like the wallpaper, furniture and furnishings of her home. The bed is very comfortable. The bed is clean and comfortable. The four-person family has a double bed. The twin beds have a water heater and a coffee machine. Room 2 can sit in the beautiful courtyard with a cup of coffee on the first floor. Great experience

We were traveling in Rotterdam for work/vacation and the Usual had rooms for our family of four (2 adults and 2 children). Maybe it is just us, but we have found it sometimes difficult to find quad rooms in our travels and don't like to have to book 2 rooms... So it was fortunate that the Usual had a room for us. I say fortunate because the rooms are quite large (a bed and a pull out sofa bed) that still left enough room for our luggage and moving around. There were 2 sinks, a refrigerator and dishware which really helped us out. Not that cooked in the room, it was just great to have for snacks and light eats. I believe the hotel is new as the furnishing was all modern, in excellent condition and very clean. I personally liked the style and amenities of the rooms and hotel. We were on the 6th floor which gave a small view of the city. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, though I would note that check-in is self-check-in and naturally we couldn't find our QR code that the hotel sent us...but there was someone to help us find our way. We only had drinks at the bar, which were good and reasonably priced. We did not get breakfast largely because of the price and that there are many local bakeries/coffee shops available. The hotel is in an excellent location, easy access to the tram/metro and many sights including the Maritime Museum. We stayed 5 nights and would have liked to stay longer. Highly recommend. Many thanks!
We’re located on the banks of the river Maas, offering sweeping views of the water and skyline. Discover attractions like The Museum Boijmans van Beuningen and Markthal, both less than a kilometer from us. We are next door to the iconic Erasmusbrug, the perfect spot for a Rotterdam sunset. Our hotel has a waterfront terrace and private jetty accessible for water taxi pickups.

Google maps will not take you to the correct location of the hotel! The address states the hotel is in Leuvehaven; however the hotel and entrance are really on Terwenaker 18 (the small peninsula just east of the main road (Schiedsedijk). You can definitely see the hotel on the peninsula as you’re driving north on the main road, but your GPS / offline Google Maps won’t take you there. Just a tip in case you’re driving to the hotel. Other than that, our room was spacious, comfortable, had its own sauna, and a great view of the river. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk to the Cube Houses and central market area. Overall, we’d stay there again if in Rotterdam!

Visited for North Sea Jazz festival in July 2022. Hotel is of a high standard throughout. Our room was a standard ”water view” double, and not that big but had all we needed in terms of furnishings and amenities. One tiny gripe of mine, the bathroom has a sliding frosted-glass door, which of course saves space, but doesn't fully close. Bed and bedding all very comfortable. Shower and Air-con easy to regulate. Plenty of lifts (elevators) at all times. Breakfast superb. All staff very friendly and efficient.

My husband and I recently took a bicycle trip to Holland and spent one night at the Marriott in Rotterdam. We only wish that every hotel on our trip was as good as this. The Front Desk staff was incredibly friendly and helpful -- they had a special place to lock-up our bikes, helped us do that, spent time with us reviewing a map of the city to decide what to do and where to go, and emailed us additional information. The hotel is in a great central location, across from train station and in walking distance to a lot of sites. The rooms are good-sized, totally modern (great bathrooms!), very quiet, cool (it was warm and we needed air conditioning) and internet worked perfectly. Breakfast is served in a nice room with a great view of the station/city; friendly staff, hot items are cooked to order and the buffet is full of any item you might want. We're just sorry to we only stayed one night.

We stayed at The James for 5 nights in the middle of July. It's a nice hotel - centrally located that' s walking distance to the train station, restaurants and attractions. The room we stayed in was a good size and nicely appointed. As part of the package we had use of 2 bikes for a full day. We took the bikes out on July 19 for a ride around Kinderdijk, which was about 20km away by waterbus. One of the bikes felt sluggish from the start but we attributed the problem to underinflated tires. Unfortunately, that wasn't the issue. It was making a loud pinging noise when it was put in reverse as in backing out of a bike rack on the ferry. The pedals were freewheeling as soon as we started riding when we came off the ferry. I emailed the hotel about the issue immediately but didn't hear anything back for over half an hour. A local pointed us to a bike shop 2 km away and off we went. This was the hottest day (39 C) the Netherlands had experienced in over a decade and we had almost 60 km to cover, so we wanted an earlier start. By the time the hotel emailed us back we were already at the bike shop getting it fixed. There's simply no way that we'd wait another hour or 2 for the hotel to send help. The mechanic was so disappointed with the bike's condition that he said the hotel should pay for the repair and that they may call him if they had any questions. The front desk told us their bike supplier would likely pay us back for the repair but 3 weeks later we're still waiting. The point is: I took the bike from the hotel, not their supplier. Any reasonable hotel would compensate their customers and deal with their supplier on their own. I'm not going to get too upset losing 35 euros but this shows how terrible customer service is with this hotel. You may stay there and it should be OK as long as nothing goes wrong.

Booked this in a rush without checking TA - big mistake. On checking in the staff (who were the only positive) handed me some ear plugs !. At this point I considered walking to another hotel (should have done). You will not get any sleep here - with earplugs in the street noise was almost bearable (soft thudding of the nearby club) however the paper thin walls internally meant you could loudly hear other residents - I’m a heavy sleeper and was woken up at 4:45 (after finally getting to sleep at 1) - now this didn’t seem to be loud partygoers, just people talking relatively loudly managed to wake me up with earplugs in !!. WiFi/tv etc all fine, no air con so hot, but the other thing was I read these reviews before I went to bed on bedbugs. To be clear I didn’t see any - but to mitigate I slept above the covers with a long sleeve T-shirt. I do have a bite on my ankle but that may be a mozzie / happened elsewhere. This place is only fit for people on a big night out - get smashed, pass out on the bed, leave as it is in a great location. Anyone else heed the above - harder to enjoy a great city with no sleep.

From the time we walked through the front door to when we left two days later all was perfect. The staff very happy and helpful. The room was very nice and well appointed . We chose this hotel because it is connected to-the Rotterdam Cruise Terminal. It is close too many eateries. Ifwe return in the future we will rebook.
This is a five star hotel. Thanks all.

My 2nd time to book and staying in this hotel. as good as before.
Good in location, 5 min. walk to Rotterdam central station. LRT just in front of the station.
Good in services, we arrival at early morning 10:00, no room available, the front desk lady can keep the luggage for us, and offer free breakfast to us.
Clean and tidy room and public area.
Recommend this hotel to you.

My experience in this hotel was really nice. It's located near the city center and the metro station and you can practically have everything you need (supermarkets, shops, food) within a few minutes on foot. All the stuff is really kind and helpful for anything it may occur during your stay in the hotel. Breakfast has not a big variety of drinks and food but it's still really good. My only complaint about this hotel is that there is no fridge in the room, which you really going to need if you are staying for more than 5 days. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay in days inn and I would definitely visit this hotel again.

__jxj_A very good hotel. I get a free upgrade to executive room. The staffs are very friendly. The only bad thing is sound proof not very good, always heard a lot of people walking outside and bang things inside their room.
Location 5/5 - right next to Centraal train station with shops, supermarket, and food. Front desk 4/5 Polite and efficient. Thank you, Irish Ms.Shauna. Room 4/5. Great views. This is our second time staying here. When in Rotterdam we shall return again. Housekeeping 0/5 Worst Housekeeping I have encountered in both staying and running hotels (now retired). The after-hours staff make up for the poor performance of the day crews. Checked in and got a soiled bathroom with number one and number two in the toilet bowl and sticky floors. Couldn't get a housekeeper to come and clean as they had left for the day. The housekeeping supervisor and manager hadn't done the necessary quality control. The next day the Do Not Disturb sign was dismissed and I received a phone call informing me that the housekeepers had left at 2.30 pm for the and they claimed that they had cleaned the room. I Cleaned the sticky floor and the toilet bowl myself. Agreed with the front desk for cleaning the room for 9.30 a.m. the next day. Of course, the housekeeper was a no-show. Turns out the housekeeping staff arrive when they want. There's a normal Albert Hjein 5 minutes by foot.(not the expensive ”to go” type) More shops and eateries inside the train station. Watch out for pickpockets. Most are women and operate despite the presence of Police. The Police are inside the train station whereas the pickpockets are outside the train station. :) Unlimited free coffee at the lobby 24/7 - 5/5
My wife and I had a grand stay using this historic hotel as our base as we export Rotterdam for a weekend getaway. So much to see and with the Watertaxi it’s easy to get about. The hotel called a week ahead of arrival to check in and see if they could help with anything which was handy figuring out the best way to arrive. We had a nightcap in the buzzy bar before turning in. Breakfast the next day was in a grand room full of nautical touches and with a full array of breakfast choices. Staff were always friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.
GGuest UserGreat location, easy to get around in Rotterdam. If you are a bit sensitive to noise , better ask for a room far away from the elevator.
Highlight is definitely the breakfast buffet team - thanks a lot for the great service and smiles despite a high stress level in the morning.
GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is very convenient, very close to the city hall and the transportation hub Buers, and nearby restaurants and supermarkets are also very convenient. It is not far from the central station, and you can get there by taking one or two stops or walking.
This should be a historic building. The room is quite large, but the layout is not very reasonable, but all the facilities are available, including a kettle and a small refrigerator, which is very good.
The front desk service is also very enthusiastic. No matter what you ask, they are very enthusiastic and write down the results in Dutch, which is convenient and considerate. You don’t need to clean the room for consecutive stays, and the hotel also provides drinks as a reward, which is very heartwarming. The hotel also saves precious labor, a win-win situation!
GGavin AndrewGreat to have an apartment experience at lower than hotel prices. It doesn't get cleaned every day, but not a problem if you are used to tidying up after yourself.
Location is in the heart of the city - shopping, conference centre, restos and bars are all within walking distance. I would def choose again.
GGuest UserDon’t usually say this but I was truly blown away with the decor and design of this hotel! We had ‘loft’ room in the older part of the building with high ceilings which was beautifully decorated throughout, with three huge windows which we were able to open - something I really appreciate in hotels. Large desk and seating area was great for working and for the night we chose to order in, staff even gave us plates and silverware for our order which was a nice touch. Also really appreciated the separate shower and toilet rooms as well as the underfloor heating, and the bed was incredibly comfortable! Didn’t use the restaurant but the bar area was beautifully decorated and had a good atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and also allowed us to leave luggage upon check out. Super handy for the tram too and a lidl underneath, would definitely stay again.
Tired of the far-too-efficient and sterile hotels where all the rooms are looking alike? Then 'Hotel not Hotel' is the way to go! What's missing is an elevator and a little light(bulb) at the end of the staircase, so it doesn't take you forever to find the keyhole in the door to your room :-) . But other than that... great hotel! Beds are good, pillows are good, shower is good, everything is clean. But most of all... the staff is phenomenal! Mostly young, motivated people. Not shy to enter a conversation, positive minded and clearly enjoying their work.
GGuest UserVery nice and comfortable hotels located near the historical centre, and about 20 minutes walk from the historic port of Rotterdam, for a short and perfect holiday, friendly and educated staff, excellent breakfast, Restaurants and bars can be found near the hotel to complete everything with the beautiful atmosphere of the city
GGuest UserThere is no elevator, the stairs are beyond imagination, the boss is very good, very enthusiastic, help with luggage and lie down the stairs. Cheap price, poor setting
