Holiday Club Saariselkä

While I admit I was partly to blame for staying during renovations, the hotel was terrible overall: the front desk staff were unhelpful, the room was dirty, and the directions to the parking lot were poor. Upon check-in, I was told not to have dinner at the attached restaurant because it was occupied by tour groups, and that breakfast should be either early or late. The only saving grace was the kind woman at the front desk during check-out.

The room is really run-down... This is what you get for 1700.

The hygiene was terrible, everything else was fine.

It was close to the bus stop, so it was convenient even with a suitcase. The breakfast was delicious. There was a sauna. Swimwear was not allowed.

I didn't take a photo of the room, but it was the same as the picture, or even worse than the picture. It was the oldest room type, and it was very far from the front desk. It was the farthest room, and it was very inconvenient to get in and out. The hotel has only two floors of accommodation rooms, but there is no elevator. The sauna room is on the negative floor. I suggest you don't choose the oldest and cheapest room type, but a slightly newer and more expensive one. Although 1000+ is not cheap, it still shows that the prices of local resorts are high. If you want to see the aurora, I suggest you spend a little more money to stay in the glass house, there will be surprises in the middle of the night!

It's the best. There are activities, restaurants, bus stops, etc. all nearby. I highly recommend it.

If you stay in an economy class room, it's really far from the front desk to your room. I didn't know how to turn on the heater in the room, so it was cold... The breakfast buffet had a wide variety and was delicious! The bus stop was right in front of the hotel, and it was also about a 10-minute walk to the supermarket, so it was very convenient!
