Sofitel Sanya Leeman Resort Reviews

Three nights at the resort. Millesime ocean front room and upgraded to suite. We always enjoy our lounge access and particularly happy with this one as the weather was very warm so we were constantly refreshing ourselves and keeping cool in the comfort of the lounge. Excellent food options. Only disappointing thing was the Thai restaurant which we thought was terrible. Poorly made food overcooked thai beef salad and watery pina coladas. Resorts should have better standard food. Restaurant downstairs was Excellent for lunch very good food. Breakfast was also a good selection. Ambience overall was lacking and something Sofitel needs to imorove to compete in the luxury segment. Room was Excellent however the lobby, lounges and other public spaces feel a bit cheap as far as furnishings are concerned. Pools were Excellent. Beach is also excellent. shame no Swimming permitted. We were happy with the room location. Easy asscess to club lounge and restaurants via elevator. Best quality bed in a hotel room ive experienced for a while. Absolutely wonderful sleep quality. Staff were great and we appreciated the extra mile.

Very good hotel, nice facilities. Not many option in food for foreign people. I think it should be improved in this point. The Pools are so nice. There is not possible to swim in the sea and there is not any beach furniture to enjoy the sunny day in the beach.

We had the best time at the Sofitel! This was our first visit but it won’t be the last. The customer service was first class, Nikki was particularly brilliant, looking after all our needs and responding quickly to any questions we had. The options of activities in immense - especially for children. There are so many pools that we were spoilt for choice. The room was brilliant, clean and very big. The bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve slept in. Everything was great and we will be back!

The hotel is really clean and the service is good. Breakfast can be a bit busy specially on weekend so get prepared to wake up a bit earlier. Pool, facilities and beach are nice but swimming in sea was not allowed. Nearby, around 300m from hotel you can rent a car conveniently over CAR rental service.

Really enjoyed our stay at the resort. The staff was helpful and nice to us. The environment was inviting, with an easy access to the beach.

I enjoyed my stay at Sofitel. The staff were very helpful and friendly special thanks to Emily from the front desk. She make our stay even more special. I celebrated by bday there and I got a birthday cake and a goodie bag filled with chocolate.

The hotel is perfect for families with children. My child was very happy with his experince at the hotel and still talked about it days after we left Sanya. There are a lot of things kids can enjoy during the stay at the hotel. Hotel staffs were very helpful, particularly Emily. She contacted me before leaving for Sanya. She also informed us about all the activities available at the hotel and also can be asked about things around Sanya. Other hotel staffs were very nice even those who cannot speak english. Overall, it was a great experience.

This hotel contains many fabulous pools and contains many activities for kids. If you are searching for a place to relax and swim I would highly recommend this hotel.

Sofitel has outstanding facilities. I selected the hotel specifically because of the activities that are build around younger children 4-9 yrs. There is a daily schedule for kids including cooking, go kart introduction sessions, foam party at the kids pool. For the fancy things you will have to pay e.g. Kayaking at the pool. We had a room with direct pool access which was the most used feature of the holiday by the young ones. The are several pools including an infinity pool closer direction beach. No swimming area at the beach. So don’t expect a dip into the sea. We stayed either at our room with direct pool access or at the main pool next to the children’s play and pool area. Three slides at the kids area including one with tubes only for children) Breakfast is excellent! I blame it for gaining weight. Plus you can get food till 11am. Big plus The restaurants at the hotel are very good. One Thai and one Chinese. But not really an every day option for me. Basic dishes start at ard 100 RMB and a Beef Curry ist at 170 RMB. No IPA or Craft beer on the beer list. Location is “only” 4 out of 5. There’s nothing within walking distance of the hotel. No restaurant, no bar or anything. So if you wanna go anywhere plan 30-60 min commuting by Didi / Taxi. Overall a fantastic stay and a big thank you to Nikki. She did a great job as experience manager at Sofitel and is a huge help if you are struggling with Chinese topics.

The main pool was under maintenance during our 3 days stay which a bit disappointing, other than that all good.

Very nice experience. Perfect for families. Jolly was wonderful with us and perfectly managed our stay.

Where do I begin? This hotel experience started with a call from Emily, one of the hotel staff checking when we will arrive at the hotel and added me on WeChat as well. Once we arrived, we got checked in and the together with kids went to the family entertainment center. This hotel offered all that we needed as a family. Breakfast is good! Environment is great! Staff is amazing! Activities are entertaining! Will surely recommend this hotel to anyone.
