Scenic Hotels in Koh Lipe

"First, let's talk about the facilities. The room size was perfect for two people, and the big bed was very comfortable. Both the floor and bathroom were wooden, which was quite slippery when wearing slippers on rainy days. The biggest drawback was the lack of sufficient hot water for showering. After spending all day in the water, I was really looking forward to a hot shower in the evening, but the water was always cold and the water pressure was very low. I didn't bother complaining to the hotel, though, as fresh water is scarce on Koh Lipe, so I understand. Hygiene: The hygiene was actually quite good. Considering it's on a hillside, and there are bound to be bugs, I was pretty satisfied with how clean it was. Environment: The hotel is made up of individual villas, which offers a good level of independence and privacy. It was incredibly quiet at night. The nights I stayed there, it rained heavily with thunder and lightning every day, but the next morning the air was fresh and the sun was bright, which was truly wonderful. Service: Overall, the service was great, especially the room service and the staff who came to light mosquito coils; they were all very polite. One of the best things was that my pool villa faced an uninhabited island. It was only about a fifteen-minute kayak ride away, and the snorkeling there was absolutely beautiful! There were all sorts of small fish underwater, perfect for a beginner like me. I even learned how to use a snorkeling mask and a snorkel there. The hotel's beach was a bit small, but the sand was very white and fine, better than anywhere else on the island."

"Fantastic! The view is exceptional, and the beach is stunning and peaceful because the boats are docked on the previous beach. The staff are lovely, and the bar and restaurant are great value for money. The breakfast is very good, even if there isn't a huge selection. The location is perfect, the sunrises are magnificent, and the water is turquoise – it's a little paradise on earth. This is the best spot on the island. It's a 20-minute walk to Sunset Beach and barely 10 minutes on foot to the small center of Koh Lipe, where you'll find shops, mini-marts, and a bunch of small restaurants. Everything on this island is walkable, it's so peaceful and pleasant. We loved it so much that we added a fourth night to our stay! The little chalet is very cute, though it's not easy to sleep well without air conditioning; there's little air circulation, and it's heavy, but we survived. The bathroom does the job; there's no hot water, but honestly, you don't need it – a cool shower is very welcome when it's 30 degrees Celsius 24/7. It's an eco-lodge in the middle of nature, so you have to accept seeing a few little creatures sometimes; it's part of the experience :) You can rent masks for snorkeling and kayaks or try an introductory dive thanks to the agency right next to the beach. This is a quiet resort with no entertainment. For evening entertainment, head to Sunset Beach or the bars at the end of the hotel beach (you can also watch the sunset there, and the view is very pretty)."

"Service, ambiance, and facilities: Excellent, truly top-notch. Probably among the best on the island. We received complimentary welcome desserts upon check-in. Communication and service bookings can all be done conveniently via their in-house app. They also offer free shuttle service to and from the pier. Cleanliness: 1. There were always flies in the restaurant, though it was still much better compared to other eateries on the island. 2. The pool didn't feel very clean; I could see a lot of twigs, leaves, and other debris at the bottom while swimming. Koh Lipe is lovely, and I'd definitely come back if I have the chance. Next time, I'd book a villa directly."

"This hotel was a lovely surprise for me and my fiancee, with a beautiful rustic charm that really adds to the experience. The pool is fantastic, and the beach is literally just steps away. It’s also within walking distance to Walking Street, with convenient taxi services available right outside the hotel. Breakfast offered a great variety of options, which was a nice bonus. While this isn’t a typical 4 or 5-star resort, what you do get feels 5-star, the stunning beach, the beachfront bar, the pool, and the very comfortable bed and pillows all stood out. My only minor issue was with the shower, as the hot water was a bit inconsistent. Aside from that, I would highly recommend this hotel and wouldn’t pay too much attention to the negative reviews. Koh Lipe is a small paradise island far from the mainland, and this hotel is a wonderful place to enjoy it."

"Loved it! 🥰🥰🥰 This stay completely exceeded my expectations. Each room is a small, standalone bungalow, and the hotel's beach is absolutely beautiful. The staff provides shuttle service to and from the pier. 🥰🥰 The rooms are very clean, and it's a short walk along the beach to both the pier and the walking street. For places further out, the staff will help you call a tuk-tuk. There are almost no downsides. I honestly didn't have high hopes before arriving, so I was completely surprised that a 500-yuan hotel could be this good! The only issue is that the service attitude isn't great, and the front desk staff seemed to judge people. "

"Koh Lipe is a really untouched island. It's about a 1.5-hour speedboat ride from Langkawi, but the immigration process for both Malaysia and Thailand is just awful. Expect to wait in the sun for 1-2 hours; it's a normal level of inefficiency. If you're particular about hotel quality and environment, I'd suggest you look elsewhere. We stayed in a treehouse pool room, and there were so many dead beetles, mosquitoes, and flies. Right outside the hotel, there's a stinky ditch and a very run-down local slum. The water quality is also really poor; we had to change our filter shower head every day. The only good thing is that the snorkeling water is better than in Langkawi. Honestly, if you're not super into snorkeling, you're much better off finding a nice hotel in Langkawi and just chilling out for a few days."

"We had a very lovely time at Casa de Lipe. We even got engaged here so we will certainly be coming back. Pros: The staff are the loveliest people on Planet Earth No loud music at any time, very quiet Sensational food and service, very smiley staff ready to help with anything Private beach is a real bonus The setting is fabulous. Among the rainforest and with the sound of the sea rocking you to sleep Epic sunsets Great breakfasts Cons (being really picky): The air con unit in our room was a bit loud The pool in our room (honeymoon villa) was a little bit smaller than I expected The decor could be updated We’ll be coming back here time and time again for sure. "The bungalows are located between Daya beach and Sita. The restaurant is beachfront, and bungalows F1 and F2 are also beachfront but set back slightly. We stayed in F1, which offered a direct view of the beach, though Charena's sunbeds were between the bungalow and the sand. We were only at the hotel in the mornings and evenings, so we didn't see many people there. If having your bungalow directly on the frontline is crucial, this might not be the best option. Bungalow F2 has a direct view of a fence and a partial view of the beach, while F1 has a direct beach view. There's also a neighboring concrete, white bungalow with panoramic glass, but I'm unsure if it belongs to this hotel. Pros: Free transfer to and from the pier on arrival and departure days, excellent location at the quieter end of the beach yet within walking distance of the 'Walking Street' in the center (we often walked there multiple times a day as all the shops are there). The breakfasts were good: egg dishes were cooked to order however you liked – just tell them what you want, and they'll bring it to your table or you can pick it up. Everything else was self-serve: muffins or waffles/pancakes, chicken rice soup, rice, chicken in various curry sauces (always different but equally spicy), chicken pasta (in different styles) or non-spicy noodles. Fruits like watermelon, melon, pineapple, and papaya were rotated. Every morning, two bottles of water were delivered to our veranda. For room cleaning, you needed to request it that day. They changed towels, made the bed, and swept or mopped the floor (I didn't see). At the bungalow entrance, there was a hose with a showerhead to rinse sand off your feet, and a broom to sweep sand away yourself, preventing it from spreading inside the room. We swam once at the very end of the beach by the rocks, where there were fewer boats. In the morning, the tide was in, and it was deep enough; in the afternoon, it was low tide and very shallow (this applied to all beaches). We booked an extra bed with breakfast for our child and paid an additional 500 Baht per day on arrival. However, the 'extra bed' was just a mattress placed on the floor between our bed and the window. Our child ended up sleeping with us; the main bed was very large, and it was comfortable for three of us. As for creatures, we saw some centipede-like caterpillars a couple of times, mostly in the bathroom, but once one fell from the ceiling in the room. There was a constantly running mosquito repellent (fumigator) in the room, so there were no mosquitoes inside, only on the veranda. We bought coils from a pharmacy, which helped a lot. Our bungalow's air conditioning was on its last legs, only cooling effectively in the morning. However, overall, the bungalow wasn't excessively hot with it. The hotel was generally quiet and peaceful, except for one day when a group of Thais arrived – we think they were friends of the owner or staff. They were very noisy from breakfast onwards, waking us up at 3 AM with loud shouting right outside our bungalow. Overall, we really enjoyed everything and were very comfortable; we don't regret choosing this hotel. The administrator was lovely, coming out to see us off when we left for the pier, which was a very nice touch. * We really want to return; 8 days wasn't enough!))"

"Accommodation with good views, with the wind blowing all the time, not sticky, the beach is private, not crowded. Near the forest, but there are no mosquitoes because the wind blows all the time. Accommodation, although old, is clean. The stairs to the beach are not very steep. A short walk down, there is a private living accommodation at the end of the beach. The staff who serve breakfast are hospitable. Walking distance to the walking street, the road is good, not far away, there is a free car service when moving the accommodation as well."
