Hotel is in a great location on lorong 18. The staff were very helpful and even let me check in 3 hours early at 12pm instead of 3pm as the room was available early. I will definitely be staying here next time I am in Singapore.

Considering it's a prime location where every inch counts, value for money isn't the priority. It's comfortable and safe to stay here, and super convenient for getting around and dining. The room, though small, has everything you need and is very clean. Plus, there are cheap durian stalls nearby! Free luggage storage after check-out is a nice bonus.

The hotel is about 20km from the airport, a 20-minute taxi ride away. Even though it's a standard budget hotel, the price is quite reasonable for Singapore.

A budget hotel but readily accessible to MRT and Buses and to delicious local foods of a wide variety of taste (Chinese, Malay, Indian, Western, etc.). The room was clean and comfortable for two. I would recommend this hotel to those budget minded tourists who spend most of their day outside and come back to rest for the night.

There's a really handsome guy at the front desk! I didn't get a chance to take a picture with him, but the room was very clean and the service was super friendly. It would have been even better if late check-out was allowed. The location is also quite good.

The front desk staff were welcoming when I checked in, and the check-in process was smooth. When I first entered the room, I noticed it wasn't very big, but since I was only staying one night, I didn't mind, as long as it was clean. In the evening, there were restaurants within walking distance at the intersection, but I later realized that directly opposite the hotel was quite a bustling *** area. There were hardly any locals around, mostly foreign workers, which made me feel generally unsafe, so I didn't dare explore much nearby. When I returned to the room to rest, I was shocked to find socks worn by a previous guest on the vanity chair. It was unbelievable; I'm not sure if the cleaning staff missed it or simply didn't notice. Even worse, when I tried to sleep in the middle of the night, I discovered the pillow had a distinct smell left by someone else, which was absolutely disgusting. I couldn't fall asleep at all. I have never encountered such a poor accommodation experience with such terrible hygiene. A small room is acceptable, but basic cleanliness and hygiene are an absolute bottom line, and this was simply unacceptable.

We arrived about an hour early, and they accommodated us right away for check-in, which was a great start. The staff were all very courteous, and the front desk guy was especially helpful—he even recommended nearby food spots and explained the price ranges around the area. The room was clean and just the right size for two people. The water heater worked consistently, and the water pressure was surprisingly good. Bus stops are also conveniently close to the hotel, making it easy to get around. Overall, we were really satisfied with our stay and would consider coming back.

The room looks the same as shown in the picture below. However, there was some dust noticed around the handwashing area and on the bed. Otherwise, it’s in good condition.

Quite spacious for Singapore's budget hotel. Just 50SGD per night. Clean room, friendly staff, not too far from Geylang Serai and Arab Street but the surrounding area is not suitable for family with kids.

So happy with this booking! The hotel is nice and clean, and the staff are amazing. It’s conveniently located near a bus station, with bike rental and parking available. There are also plenty of nearby food stalls to enjoy!

It was the cheapest option I could find, and honestly, it gets the job done. The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the basics I needed. Big plus: my room had a window, which made a huge difference in making the space feel less claustrophobic. Don’t expect luxury — this is purely a functional stay. It’s not a place for lounging or extended stays, but if you just need a safe, air-conditioned room to crash in after a full day out, Hotel 81 delivers. Would definitely consider staying again for a short stopover.

Location is good, near the main road of Geylang. Though transport system is not a lot at this area. A lot of ******** nearby but for the price point, can’t complain much. Not a lot of toiletries in the room. There is potable tap water but no hand soap. The room is small and functional. Clean and updated. Beds are on the smaller side but all in all, a good budget hotel.
