Loved it. Rooms are rustic like a boy scout camp but have everything you need. The kids loved every minute of it and the views absolutely cannot be beat. Would 100% stay here again. Make sure to stay in the tree top ones or tree house. Can’t remember what it’s called but they had the best views.

Our family stayed at Concordia during a quick jaunt to St. John, in one of their eco tents after a fortuitous run-in at the front desk. The tent, which is more like a cabin, and stocked with a fridge, hot plate, pot, pan, dishes, and utensils, in addition to running water opened to gorgeous views of Salt Pond Bay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, as we planned our visit, and gave us their very own recommendations for local food (check out the Friendly Spot!) Its proximity to the beach, just down a small nature trail which led to additional trailheads, including Ram’s Head was incredibly convenient. In addition, we found snorkeling in the bay fruitful, and saw plenty of rays, turtles, and fish (especially if you are adventurous enough to swim out to some of the rockier areas beyond the boats). While we did not take them up on this, the resort also keeps snorkeling equipment on site. We had a wonderful time, and would be happy to stay again.

This remotely located treehouse-like cabin was super clean with hot water and very cold A/C. We were booked in a tent but were generously upgraded to cottage A15 by the owner in Wyoming. We loved the convenient location near Ram’s Head and Salt Pond beach. The hike to see the sunset was unparalleled. Our amazing dinner was served roadside at the “Happy Place.” The staff members were very kind and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Great memories were made!

I booked this place on Airbnb for my solo birthday-cation. There aren't tons of options on St.John and this place looked really cool in the photos! You don't need a Jeep to access this location unless it's raining, I had no problem getting here in a sedan. Check in was simple, there's a front office. You carry your own linens/towels to your lodging but they didn't have any available for me at that time. They said they would drop it off later so I went hiking for 2 hours, but when I returned, there were still no linens/towels. I caught them right before they closed the office which is open from 7am - 7pm (not posted) and they told me to grab the linens/towels then. I was thrown off because I'm not sure what I would've slept on if they closed the office before I caught them and they communicated they would be dropping it off. The views are GORGEOUS and you get an amazing view from the deck. They have fully stocked kitchen and a working refrigerator. It's a mix of tent/treehouse which I loved at first, I was really excited to stay here. I went for dinner and came back around at 9-10pm. I'll add that I've camped a lot and I'm used to running into bugs. Here are critters I'm expecting - some beetles, mosquitoes, moths, spiders, maybe ants, etc... I was not expecting to run into 3-4 giant roaches within the span of 30 minutes. Because the bathroom lights weren't working, I became alarmed when I noticed a roach creeping by during a shower. I killed that one, then was immediately greeted by another one which got away. I gave up on the shower despite being covered in soap and went to the kitchen sink to just wipe off as best as I can with a towel, where I ran into a biggest roach I've ever seen. It proceeded to crawl all over my tumbler, my toothbrush, soap, water bottle, etc... I was ready to just drive away but I was already stuck on the island, barely had internet connection (wifi doesn't work here, you get minimal reception) and the only other lodging that I knew about was on a boat and it was already 10pm so I wasn't sure if the host would respond in time. I understand 1 roach (I'm on an island and in nature after all) but 3-4 in span of 30 minutes was too much for me and I have a massive phobia of them. Also this place has a lot of rules including that they would charge you $250 if you didn't leave the sheets/towels back with the front desk when you check out. I texted the host but didn't hear anything back. I barely slept, kept all the lights on, and just waited for the morning so I could check out as fast as I could when I was greeted by hoards of ants despite not having any food in the tent. Mosquitoes I knew from other reviews so I sprayed some OFF spray at night which helped. The host also left a review saying I made a food-mess but as you can see from the photos I'm posting here.. I ate nothing here. He's never even met me. The unprofessional attitude of the owner is really throwing me off and I discourage people from staying here. TL

Let’s start with, perhaps, the one positive: the location is spectacular. Perfectly isolated, with an amazing view of the sea on the cliff side. That’s why it’s so sad what happened to this place. We stayed here previously a little over 10 years ago in an eco tent. It was great. Bare bones, but great. The tents/resort were destroyed in 2017 and never rebuilt, until a new owner took over. It’s clear this owner wants to turn a quick profit and doesn’t give one s%#t about the island or us travelers that have been coming so long (20 years for me). Don’t expect anyone at the front desk, almost ever, if you have an issue. With that, I’ll recount our experience. We arrived, called the owner, and someone came over to check us in. Here’s where things were off to not a great start. When we stayed here previously, there was someone there all day to check us in. The walk to the tent was treacherous as half the stair lights didn’t work, at all, and it was pitch dark. All 3 beds in the tent were made with sheets. We got one set of sheets in a duffel bag, for the loft, which was extremely hot when we got into the tent and didn’t have much airflow. Since the bed was bigger, these sheets didn’t fit the lower beds. And the mattresses were covered in sand and dirt, so now we had dirty sheets to transport to another bed. Can I just say something about the sanitation of using the same duffel for dirty and clean sheets? And no, we aren’t high maintenance. I’ve stayed at Cinnamon Bay 4 times. Even at Cinnamon Bay campground, the beds were made on arrival, and the bags were for dirty sheets only. The tents are nothing like they used to be. It’s clear they were rebuilt as cheaply as possible. It was literally swaying in the wind. The old ones were totally solid. It was much hotter, maybe due to them having a solid wood roof instead of the canvas roofs (which provided light during the day. Instead of decking, they have plywood floors which can’t be cleaned as easily and absorb everything that’s spilled on them. The sink was filthy from previous guests. The patio door was misfit and hard to open and close. I could go on. These were dingier, cheaper, hotter versions of the tents we’d stayed in. And the wood stairway into the place was rotting. We couldn’t sleep in the heat and our sheets were filthy. So we decided to leave and got the last room on the island at great expense, and an Airbnb for the rest of the trip, which was great. This is such a sad review to post, as this was such a cool spot to stay, but I cannot recommend it. They’re going to have to make major changes or they won’t last.

Our trip to St. John was the result of a church trip to Israel being cancelled. Since it was late in the game, I searched for a place that was reasonably priced, but with a great view. We also wanted something out of the busy hectic Cruz Bay area. We found a newly opened Concordia Eco-Resort and decided to go for that. When we got in we were just totally amazed at the view and location. The room had a beautiful porch and a fully working kitchen. We were not fully aware of this, so we didn’t get groceries until later on our trip. The bed, couch and furniture were adequate and represented an Eco-Resort well. The shower, sink and bathroom were all what we would expect. There were sufficient outlets and power was not an issue, even though we were warned that that side of the island is still recovering from hurricane hits. The resort restaurant re-opened the day before we were leaving. I had an opportunity to visit with the chef and am thoroughly convinced he will be a huge asset for them. The new menu was great and though we had eaten elsewhere that night, we visited with several guests and they spoke highly of their food. The pool and courtyard space is beautiful and was super comfortable. There were trails to hike to Salt Pond Bay Beach, Ram’s head, sugar cane plantation ruins, Drunk Bay and the actual salt pond. All were well maintained and entered right into the national park. If you go to St. John’s, you will want to research thoroughly driving and drive times completely before going. It’s not just an easy task. Because of the remoteness, the whole Island is having critical staffing issues. As a result lobby hours are abbreviated and services are limited. But what else would I expect from an Eco-Resort. I was fortunate to meet the owner and have shared some concerns. The biggest thing I saw was a need for the staff to have a clear checklist of what should be in each room and make sure it was. I made some suggestions regarding internet (Great at the pool and the Lobby area but non-existent in our room) service. We knew to bring towels for beach stays, but we weren’t aware we needed pool towels. We were quickly aware that if we needed any food or other goodies, we better get them while we were out touring. To end, we went to St. John to snorkel, beach, hike and relax. We got that to the max. We will return to St. John again, probably in 2026 and if the current owner is still the same guy we will stay at the Concordia. Make sure to get upstairs units for the best views.

Please read my review in its entirety—I know, I’m long winded.. :) If you can’t and need a “TLDR”: Bottom line, if you are in need in of a hard reset & recharge—look no further, book the trip to see for yourself! My family (2 adults & 4 children, ages 10/6.5/4.5/2.5) recently stayed at Concordia Eco Resort & I feel like I would be doing other adventurous families a complete disservice if I didn’t share our experience thoroughly. In the beginning stages of planning our trip to St. John, I honestly don’t remember how I even stumbled upon Concordia, but regardless-I instantly fell in love with the concept in its entirety and ceased our search for lodging. Being eco-conscious is something that’s very important to me, and even more it’s important to teach our children to be mindful of their footprint as they navigate life. However, after further researching & reading reviews across different platforms, I truthfully had significant reservations & I almost ditched the entire idea, but in hindsight I am SO glad I didn’t. Lots of the reviews were very outdated, or from guests (whom I feel) had completely unrealistic expectations of what they were signing up for. I think a good chunk of folks had visited when there was an overlap in ownership (Tim, the current owner took over last July), and during the initial post-hurricane construction phase—but once we arrived, never at any time did I feel like we were in a deserted ‘apocalyptic place’ or a ‘dangerous construction site’. We were welcomed by the staff and the resort was blooming with other guests. More on the grounds later. Normally when my family travels, we are pretty nomadic in our accommodations so we are able to see as much of the island we are visiting as possible, but with how small St. John is I actually booked our entire trip (13 nights) at Concordia! Now that our trip has come to an end, again, I can confidently say that all of my initial reservations about that decision went out the window & when we return to the island- there isn’t anywhere else I’d rather stay. My family (I’m sure lots of families parallel to ours could say the same thing) was in desperate need of a hard reset from the ‘daily grind’, and frankly our time spent at Concordia was nothing short of refreshing. Don’t get me wrong- traveling with 4 kids is EXHAUSTING. Period. There is no sugar coating that. However, once we got settled our family spent more quality time together, actually face to face, during our trip than we had in months. There was no rushing the kids out the door with their breakfast in hand to make it to school on time, and no snack in the car on the way from school pickup to their respective sports practice for the rest of the evening or trying to juggle a 60+ hour work week with appointments here and meetings there. With little cell service, we were granted an opportunity to ‘unplug’ and recharge our family unit. We played multiple card games together, we read books together without being rushed, we had

This end of St John has retained its island jungle character since my first visit over 50 years ago. I love that Concordia strives to preserve and protect the original natural surroundings with elevated wooden walkways through the trees leading to simple tent-cabins. The view from the deck, the pool, the hike to the beach, Salt Pond, Drunk Bay, Ram Head and the natural surroundings are unequivocally extraordinary. Accommodations in tent cabins cover the essentials - luxurious for a backpacker, minimal for those who are accustomed to luxury getaways. Stunning simplicity.

We returned to Concordia for the first time post Hurricane. Good: beautiful and very reasonably priced. Picture postcard perfect, serene, incredible views. It’s a hike to salt pond but lovely beach, great snorkeling with rays and sea turtles Bad: twin bed mattress was too thin to sleep on. Management was nice but fairly absent. We had to ask for 3 towels (given 1 for 3 people) and bedsheets and a key to the room the day after check-in. no information on anything, luckily we already knew the area/cabins etc. we helped other bewildered guests. The restaurant may be opening but it’s still irregular. It would be a big plus if it were as good as before. It’s a work in progress. Enjoy the view. Don’t expect service to be offered. They help when they can.
