The Monterey Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

Excellent hotel in St. Helier! Highly recommend! We stayed 4 nights HB. Professional, friendly and helpful staff, that could not do enough for you, to make sure you had the best experience ever. Great room, comfy beds and a fan, if you needed one. The food was amazing. Great choice of continential and Full English style breakfast, along with fresh fruit and pastries. The 3-course dinner each evening was so tasty. Great variety of food and the service from waiting staff was second to none; staff are a great asset to Best Western (Thanks to them all). There is a Bus stop right outside the hotel, only 2 stops to town centre and 3 stops to the bus station (£2.35 on the bus, no matter how many stops you make. Rooms spotless and serviced daily. Faith on the Reception was so helpful assisting us with bus timetables and phoning taxi to the airport etc. Finally, it was my birthday and management/staff left a bottle of bubbly on ice in my room, with a note, wishing me a happy birthday... lovely touch. Will definitey be back! Tip= you can get a 3-day bus ticket or a one-day ticket for £9 that takes you all over the isle of Jersey, get off/on as many stops as you want; great value! We spent a few hours in St Aubins and had lunch in St Brelades on the same day, before heading back to St Helier for dinner).

A very welcoming and friendly hotel. Excellent restaurant and bar with a good range of food and drinks. Good value for money. Room was clean and functional.

Absolutely loved my stay here, hotel staff are lovely and nothing is to much trouble they bend over backwards to make sure you are happy and comfortable. Excelent food both breakfast and evening meals which are 3 courses and menu different each night. Lovely indoor and out door pools. Definitely recommend staying here. 👌

Wonderful 6day stay at this hotel. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. Our ground floor room was spacious, clean and had a door out to the swimming pool which was a bonus. The head chef was away during our week. Every single one of our meals was delicious and perfect including the vegetarian options. Compliments to the stand in chef. A short walk into st helier from the hotel and bus stops outside if required. We bought a pass for the liberty bus from the bus station and went all round the island for very little. Couldn't recommend this hotel enough. Fabulous.

As this is now my second time to stay at the hotel I knew already the standard of hotel and was so looking forward to returning as had 36 ‘friends’ with me. I had told them about my wonderful stay the year before. But on this stay the staff all thru the hotel, comfort and restaurant food had improved up a notch Im pleased to say all my friends felt the same as me. The Monterey Hotel is a gem of a hotel and a great place to stay in Jersey. The food was delicious, there was always a good choice of main courses and desserts which were all cooked to a very high standard. All the staff were very friendly and efficient at their jobs..... nothing was too much trouble. The indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna were meticulously clean. We had a wonderful week at the Monterey and would definately stay there again.

Although we booked a Superior room it was on the small side, but it was spotlessly clean. Mattresses on beds are very firm and there wasn't any air con in the room. Good choice at breakfast, and on our last day we were able to get an early continental breakfast before we left just after 6am. We used the indoor pool and Jacuzzi which was nice and clean. Restaurant and Reception staff are very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Hotel is around 20 minutes walk down to St Helier, although there is a bus stop on either side of the road just outside the hotel with buses every 30 minutes or so. Did feel they could have had a better bar/restaurant menu in the evening - bar menu was restricted to soup or sandwiches. We walked down to the BW Royal Hotel for a meal one night where in their Bar 27 they had a better menu with more choice. Overall a lovely stay.

We booked this hotel through Condor Travel which combined ferry and hotel stay. On arrival we were greeted by lovely reception staff Faith who guided us through the formal paperwork for our stay and we were then taken upstairs to our lovely bedroom situated above reception. We decided to spend our first night in the hotel restaurant so booked a table time and then went for a walk into town for a quick look around . The hotel was only about fifteen minutes away from town centre . When we got back to the hotel we were asked if we could change our meal time as a coach party was booked in the restaurant as well. We were a little annoyed about this really but just accepted that the coach party must be more important than us. On going into the restaurant that night we went to the table manager gave our room number and was shown to our table by our waitress Charity who asked if we had any dietary needs then gave us the menu for that evening. Our food was delivered promptly to the table hot and well presented. The restaurant was very well lit spacious and clean . In the morning we came down for breakfast after having an excellent nights sleep in the comfortable beds. The breakfast had many choices again Charity was on hand to explain what choices we could have. Our stay was very good and the hotel had a leisure centre we could use containing a small gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools .steam room and a sauna .The staff worked extremely hard to make sure our stay was excellent and we would like to thank Faith and Charity on reception and Charity and the other restaurant staff. The only comment I could make would be background music in the restaurant in the evening and the only entertainment they seemed to have on was a Thursday evening with a guitarist nothing for a Friday or Saturday evening.

Fantastic stay. The staff are brilliant, couldn't do enough for you. Would certainly stay there again in the future. Breakfast and evening meal is really good value. The hotel cleanliness is very good. Used both swimming pools inside and out and very clean. The bar staff were very professional.
