4-Star Hotels in Shantou

The hotel's location is great, with convenient transportation nearby. It's a 10-minute walk to Nan'ao Island, and you can take a direct bus. There's also the Zhujiang Road night market nearby, and a oyster pancake place there has really good taste. The Xiaogongyuan scenic area is worth a visit to see the ancient city's charm. My only regret is that whenever I left the hotel, I'd always smell a sewer odor, which was unpleasant 😔

The location is fantastic, the service attitude is excellent, and the rooms are very clean. As it's a new hotel, all the facilities are brand new. Right next door is a huge market selling various local delicacies like marinated raw seafood, beef balls, fish balls, and other seafood. The beef hotpot downstairs is also delicious. Just a few hundred meters from the hotel is Zhujiang Food Street, which offers authentic and affordable delicious food. I highly recommend the lion head goose, Zhou Ji's preserved fruit, and sesame paste downstairs as well.

The hotel is wonderful, the service, the interiors, and literally everything. BUT. There are a few annoying little things: a corporate video with a song constantly plays in the elevator and lobby, and after several uses a day, it literally gets stuck in my head. It irritates me that someone is recording songs in my head without my knowledge. The light controls in the room are very inconvenient - they are very bright and turn on by themselves with the slightest movement. The bright light at night disrupts my sleep, and it literally irritates and infuriates me when it is constantly on. I am also irritated by the TV, which turns on every time I enter the room. I don't like any unnecessary details that disrupt my focus and distract me. I have to spend an extra action to find the remote and turn it off. Also, during cleaning, the staff throws away my disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste every day. This is yet another unnecessary action that I have to do to brush my teeth - open a new package, open a tube of toothpaste, and do this every day.

The hotel's location is super convenient, within walking distance to Longsheng Beef Hotpot. The room decor is simple and clean, with good air circulation. The service was excellent, and they even provided a tea set, which was a nice touch for enjoying some tea. It's also close to the high-speed train station, making arrivals and departures very easy. I actually prefer staying a bit further from the main attractions; I feel the comfort level is much higher this way.

Kevin at the front desk was very welcoming, the environment was good, and the breakfast was great. I stayed for two consecutive days and it was excellent. I also recommend Sixi restaurant across the street, the food was good and the staff were all very friendly. ❤️

No regrets paying more for this beautiful homestay! 花多点钱住这里一点遗憾也没有！ My parents, sibling and I stayed for a total of 3 nights in their 4 pax room. It’s a beautiful and tastefully decorated accommodation with personal courtyard and interior. Bed and duvet were so comfortable especially in the chilly weather of 18 ~ 22 degrees. I didn’t spot anything obvious I can complain about regarding the cleanliness of this place, hence 5/5 for cleanliness. Location is perfect (5/5). Next to streets of food places that have good ratings, and super near 万象城 shopping mall (restaurants, luxury shops, retail and more). Anyways cabbing around Shantou is really convenient, fast, and affordable. Even though it is nested amongst other tall residential area, once we close the door we couldn’t hear much noise from outside. Service is 5/5 as well. There’s free pickup and drop off serviced from the railway station. There’s daily fresh fruits delivered to us, as well as chicken soup. There’s also free laundry service which we really appreciate! Staffs were always ready to help and always ready to give recommendations. We really felt their hospitality and they are genuine in providing best service possible. Amenities is 5/5 as well. The hair dryer is Laifen brand which is so strong and sleek looking. They provide disposable towels on top of those reusable towels. Their slippers are fluffy and comfy. They have like everything we need. Bonus: Their residential cat and her kittens are adorable!!! All in all wonderful stay and would stay again if i ever visit Shantou again. Suggestions for improvement: (1) more variety in breakfast options (stayed for 3 nights and felt that some breakfast options would be great), and (2) the shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner are a little too hard to pour out maybe can consider using press bottles.

Days Inn By Wyndham Shantou Jinping. The Absolute Best Hub for a Chaoshan Food Hunt! Our holiday in Shantou was an incredible culinary adventure, and staying here made the entire trip seamless. The location is exceptionally convenient for food lovers. The hotel is located in between 2 highly rated nearby food streets, the Longyan South Road Food Street and Zhenbang Road Food Street, just a short walk away and absolutely packed with local flavor. We completely skipped the hotel dining because our sole mission was to eat street food. The absolute highlights of our trip were the highly raved-about Chaoshan beef hotpot and the famous local braised goose—both were incredibly delicious and easily accessible from the hotel! On top of the amazing dining, the area is perfect for shopping local specialities, and we managed to buy and bring home tons of fantastic dried seafood. The hotel itself provided a fantastic resting place. After a long day of walking and eating, coming back to a clean, comfortable, and modern room was exactly what we needed. The staff were very helpful, and the room amenities were excellent. If you are visiting Swatow for a food hunt and shopping spree, look no further than this hotel !

The hotel location is excellent, the room is spacious and bright, and the bathroom has no unpleasant odor. The shower water was hot enough and had good pressure. I slept soundly, feeling completely at ease.

What I loved most about my stay at the Golden Gulf was two things: their dim sum breakfast and the location. First, the dim sum. The Jinhe Hall truly lives up to the reputation of a long-standing five-star hotel. The shrimp dumplings are freshly made and steamed, with thin skins and juicy, bouncy filling – a real delight in every bite. The phoenix claws are steamed until tender and flavorful, and the Buddha Jumps Over the Wall soup uses authentic, high-quality ingredients! The ambiance is also pleasant, with a spacious dining hall and high ceilings. The location couldn't be better. It's right in the city center on Jinsha Road, next to MixC World and Suning Plaza. It's only a few minutes' walk to Longyan South Road Food Street, perfect for an evening stroll to sample all sorts of Shantou snacks. There's also an airport express bus stop right at the entrance, making it super convenient to get to Chaoshan Airport and Shantou Station – no worries about transportation at all. As for the room, being an older five-star hotel, the facilities do show their age and aren't particularly trendy. However, they are clean, tidy, and spacious enough. The staff are also very friendly and helpful, making the overall stay comfortable. If you're not too picky about the newest hardware, this place offers excellent value for money, especially for its dim sum and prime location. I'll definitely choose it again next time I visit Shantou.

The front desk staff were attentive and enthusiastic, and the facilities were all well-equipped. Highly recommended! Because I was traveling with a child and needed a bed rail, I called the front desk and they sent it up immediately and even helped with the installation.
