5-Star Hotels in Athens

The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient to visit attractions. Although the 'Classic Room' has a traditional name, its decor is modern and stylish. The bedding is comfortable, and the room is spotlessly clean. What's most thoughtful is that an extra bed can be added for free when staying with children, which is incredibly family-friendly! The staff are warm and attentive, making the entire check-in process very smooth. The facilities are also comprehensive, with a good gym and restaurant. Overall, it completely exceeded expectations.

Location was great. The view we had from the restaurant for breakfast every morning of the Acropolis was fantastic. If you can do dinner in the restaurant there so you can watch the sunset over the Acropolis too. Breathtaking. Rooms were a little small but still comfortable

But let’s be honest: great pools and magnificent chandeliers don’t create world-class hospitality. People do. From Marios and Brian to the rest of the incredible staff, everyone greets you with a genuine smile and makes you feel like a king in his castle. Their professionalism, warmth, and authentic care for every guest are what make this hotel unforgettable. Recommended by a travel agent friend, the Divani Palace Acropolis exceeded my expectations. Nestled in the heart of Athens, around the corner from the majestic Acropolis museum, the hotel was a calming presence in a bustling city. The wonderful staff and grand entrance made us feel excited by our stay. Our rooms were a good size, spotless, and had everything we needed. The hotel also has a lovely rooftop restaurant where one can enjoy the Acropolis in the background. Perfect Athenian charm! And the most exciting part? Going to the basement of the building. Yes, the basement. They have ancient ruins of the city right there, behind glass, which you can admire. It was the best surprise during our stay. We were sad to leave but look forward to going back again for another stay in the future!

Excellent service, varied breakfast, and thorough cleaning. Everything was great.

We booked two rooms with family. The location was in the middle, so the price was a bit high. Breakfast was only for one person, which was a bit stingy. We would definitely book again next time, but perhaps choose the city center option. The service was very attentive, and the surrounding area was very quiet.

The room's terrace offered a fantastic view of the Acropolis! The room itself was in great condition, very clean and tidy. It was also conveniently located near a bus stop, with direct routes to all the attractions.

The hotel reception is spacious by Europe standards. Checkin was seamless however we had to pay for taxes at the time of checkin. Took a little while to work out the lift as the doors don’t open automatically. You had to manually open the front door to get into a reasonable small lift that catered for 2 people and 2 luggage. It reminded me of an old school type lifts seen in movies. Rather cool. Rooms looked newly renovated and modern. Pod Coffee machine with illy pods, desk, a single chair and a wall hung tv. With this said, we had a room facing the road and whether the windows didn’t close properly or the windows were very thin with no sound proofing, but the noise from the road was bad. We were on the 5th floor and every car that went by, we heard. The heavier vehicles were worse. Does not work especially if you are a light sleeper. Breakfast was average with comparison to many other hotels around the world however I would say quite sufficient by European standards. Precooked eggs, scrambled, boiled and sunny side up, basic cereal and fruit selection and bakery was a bit dry. Omelette made on order. Staff in restaurant were excellent and extremely helpful. Location was excellent for this hotel as it was walking distance from buses and train, restaurants and some markets. Communications with its reservations team was shocking. Even after 6 emails with regard to a future booking, I did not get a single reply. Eventually met the hotel manager and had the issue resolved so a big thanks to Ms. Maria. Overall, comfortable apart from the road noise. Would I book again, will not be my default hotel so I may be looking at other hotels but would not rule it out completely.

This hotel is said to be five-star online, but the stars abroad are actually different from those in China, which is the standard of three stars in China. The picture of the swimming pool is seriously faked. In fact, it is a very small swimming pool on the first floor and you can't see the sea at all. It's a bit of false advertising. The hotel is next to the main road, the doors and windows are not soundproofed, and the noise is quite loud. We told the front desk to check out half an hour later, and they agreed. When checking out, they insisted on 150 euros, saying that they only talked about one room and the other room would be charged. Later, after repeated communication, they waived the payment. I don't know if the front desk didn't understand or did it on purpose. These hotels all have kettles,

This is definately not a 5 star hotel. I can’t understand how it’s been given that ranking. The room was definitely not the same as the picture. The carpet in the room was old and faded. The decor looked like it was from when it was first built or updated, at least 30+ years ago. The bathroom in the executive room was worse than Butlins basic accommodation in the U.K., and that’s saying something. The yellow sofa in the grand reception area was tired and dirty. I definitely would never stay there again or recommend to anybody. The majority of the staff were unfriendly. The waiters in the dining room never even looked at you. We had to go to them to request tea and coffee with our breakfast and it seemed like it was too much trouble for them. We stayed in the hotel as part of a fully inclusive cruise booking. The cruise company Iglu cruises must have got a really good deal with them. The hotel was full of people on fully inclusive deals. Definitely not five star. More like 2 star in my opinion.
