🌿 Great Emotional Value, Though Some Details Need Improvement I recently stayed at La Mere Ancienne in Guiyang. Overall, it was a warm experience, but there were some ups and downs. The Highlights: The ”Emotional Value” here is excellent. The nine-grid breakfast was both beautiful and delicious, especially the authentic beef rice noodles. Since it wasn't crowded, the waiter spent a lot of time chatting with the elderly members of our family, sharing many interesting fun facts, which made them very happy. We also received a beautiful tie-dye silk scarf as a parting gift. Later on, the staff was patient enough to upgrade our room, and the Yao herbal bath was perfect for removing all our fatigue. The Downsides: However, the check-in process left something to be desired. Although the room features a private herbal bath, the staff didn't proactively offer or deliver the herbs until we asked. Additionally, we were told that the afternoon snacks were already sold out when we arrived. Summary: While the initial service was a bit passive, the subsequent hospitality and the unique atmosphere made up for it. A solid choice, but I hope they can improve their proactiveness during check-in!

Super location. 3 mins walk to restaurants & Xiaoqikong Scenic. Love the modern Chinese decor. Home stay Boss is warm & friendly, helpful in giving advice to Xiaoqikong. Room is bright & spacious, 3 seater sofa, study table chair, tea area, open concept bath tub, toilet bowl with auto flush, seat warmer, bidget. Cleanliness 10/10. Probably the newest & nicest home stayin that area. Highly recommend

The hotel service was absolutely fantastic, making us feel like royalty for two whole days! 😂 They provided transportation to and from the scenic spots daily, and we even got to enjoy a lovely foot bath in the evenings. Our room offered a stunning view of the Zhangjiang River, surrounded by lush greenery, which was incredibly refreshing. The complimentary BBQ was super fresh, and the beef noodles for breakfast were hands down the best we had throughout our entire Guizhou trip! The only minor downside was the bathroom layout – it felt a bit cramped, and the doors for the shower and toilet were awkwardly close. Also, the sink drained a bit slowly. However, these small issues didn't detract from the overall excellent experience. This guesthouse is highly recommended! 👍

The lady proprietor of this minsu is very hospitable and responsive. It is clear she works hard to operate the minsu and it is reflected in the standard of cleanliness and hygiene. The towels were all good quality, clean and individually sealed. The dining cutlery too were all sealed in sets. The room was clean and spacious. It had many considerate touch points for convenience and comfort such as the in-room massage chairs, XiaoDu home assistant and a tea-making settee. The breakfast had a good range of options like a buffet which is impressive ! The chef does very decent dinners too. We felt very safe and comfortable staying there for the duration of our trip to Libo Xiaoqikong. Thank you and I wish your business continues to grow and see more overseas guests!

Family Experience and Feelings: Advantages: 1. Excellent location next to the ancient city. 2. The rooftop swimming pool is quite nice with a wide view. 3. The staff were very attentive and provided good service, but the products and details didn't live up to the price. 4. The hotel has a light luxury design with a nice bar atmosphere. 5. The breakfast was delicious and nutritionally balanced, with freshly cut fruit and freshly ground coffee available in the morning. 6. The complimentary gift of wine and small tea packets was a thoughtful touch. 7. High-speed rail shuttle service was provided, but we didn't use it. Disadvantages: 1. The location is average; there are no views from the rooms, as it's located in a corner on the edge of the ancient city. 2. The fruit and pastries served initially weren't fresh. 3. The room design is unreasonable; the bathroom glass in the standard room and family room is semi-transparent. 4. There's no extra place to hang clothes in the room, and the electrical outlets are unstable. The air conditioner switch is conveniently located in the middle of the bed; it's very hot when you enter, and you have to run to the bed to turn it on. The room lacks smart home features, unlike other rooms costing around 200 yuan. 5. The foot bath basin was tiny, the herbal medicine packet was also tiny, and the water they delivered was probably boiling water; I almost got scalded. I had to add cold water until it was almost overflowing before I could soak my feet. Compare that to the huge packet from Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village.

The location is absolutely unbeatable, right next to the Xiaoqikong and Daqikong scenic areas. There's a private path from the hotel that leads directly into the Daqikong Stone Bridge, just a 2-minute walk. We happened to visit when the park just reopened, and it was quite sunny, so it was super convenient to come back to the hotel to change and freshen up after playing in the water. The room amenities and decor were thoughtful and comfortable. The hotel also has a 'catch-a-bug' activity where kids can look for various insects, put them in a small box, and exchange them for a folding umbrella at the front desk. We caught a helmet beetle and a grasshopper, which were then displayed in the lobby as 'Big One' and 'Big Two' – my child was thrilled! Lastly, every staff member at the hotel was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. Overall, we were very satisfied! 👍

This is the first time I've proactively written a positive review for a guesthouse. First of all, the service was impeccable, absolutely fantastic. The owner was very kind and welcoming. The environment was beautiful, the air was fresh, the rooms were spacious, and the balcony offered a wide view. They also provided a complimentary tea-making set meal, and the TV could be used to cast movies. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast noodles were incredibly delicious—thin, flavorful, and even better than what you can buy elsewhere. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the experience and will definitely choose this guesthouse again next time I visit Libo.

Perfect for a family getaway. The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming and their service was exceptionally thoughtful. We had a child with us, and they didn't charge extra for the food our little one ordered. Overall, it offers great value for money. The package included afternoon tea, a Yao ethnic group bath, and a barbecue in the evening. Staying in the courtyard made time feel like it slowed down, and enjoying a barbecue and a drink in the evening was incredibly relaxing. It’s ideal for escaping the city.

The location of the hotel is good, the owner is also very nice and will send you to the entrance of the scenic spot, and will also provide some travel suggestions. The breakfast is also good. You can go to Xiaoqikong earlier to avoid peak travel.

Service: The staff were very friendly and handled any issues promptly. Cleanliness: So-so, acceptable. Environment: Overall, passable, much better than older hotels and guesthouses in the area. Facilities: Fairly complete. The hotel's location is a bit out of the way, but it's convenient for getting to the old town. Bar: Only provided for one day out of two, including the fruit.
