Taipei Wanhua District Hotels

I stayed in this hotel quite often while visiting Taipei for a weekend. Location is great and is good value for money. The hotel is clean and service is nice. Don’t spect anything fancy though. They have a bar just down with craft local beer is quite nice.

The hotel is located in a very popular area. It’s a pretty neighborhood vibrant and young. I totally recommend for the location. Don’t tell itself. It’s quite nice. It seems to be a newly renovated hotel even though some of the older furniture is still being used. Some of it is stained or damaged, but overall everything was functional. The laundry area with free detergent really came in handy, it’s actually one of the main reasons I booked this hotel. There’s no breakfast offered, but there’s a nice array of free snacks that guest can choose and pick up as much as they like. The main minus point for me was the toilet in the lounge and laundry area, having the male urinal right by the toilet stall was a bit icky because I had to walk over spilled or dried up pee to be able to use the toilet. 

The Ximen Citizen Hotel offers an excellent location, just a 6-minute walk to Ximen MRT station and with a 7-Eleven conveniently located right in front. This makes it perfect for travelers looking to explore Taipei with ease. The rooms are clean, with towels changed daily, and the strong shower and ample toiletries add to the comfort. Guests also receive free bottled water daily, and there's a coffee machine available in the reception area for added convenience. Additional features like a fixed-price airport shuttle service (advance booking required) and a weight scale for baggage repacking demonstrate the hotel's thoughtfulness toward traveler needs. The combination of its central location, thoughtful amenities, and cleanliness make Ximen Citizen Hotel an ideal choice for budget-conscious visitors who value convenience and comfort.

Do use their mandarin name to locate as the gps tend to point you in the wrong direction. Happened to me… Location was very convenient, just minutes away from Ximen station exit 6 and ximending. Overall, an enjoyable experience staying there.

I understood that the hotel location is in Xinmen night market center but check in time at 3 p.m. and check out time at 11 a.m. it doesn't make sense for guest because the previous hotel could check out till midday. As hotel location not easy to find and very important thing since I open the room door that it was very smelly from the smoke of cigarette which an absolutely I don't like it. The 2nd thing when I took a rest in room at approximately 4 - 6 p.m. it was very noisy from a construction in the same building even the hotel uncontrol but should be informe guest since check in.

If you happen to travel in Taiwan and stay in Ximending I can recommend this 3stars hotel. This is for those who like ”A bit on a pricy side meets artsy ”kind of space vibe. Just learned that Taiwan has this culture of making their relationship to customers feel like really at home and not too luxurious. Imagine that even their staffs are just wearing everyday clothes on shorts and shirts with no branding at all. You would just be surprised that they are part of the hotel team when you ask for help. The style of the hotel is on the ”Industrial meets Pop culture ”. Details l've noticed are as follows 1. Exterior Signage: • The hotel's exterior features a modest, multi-story building with a weathered appearance. The illuminated hotel sign, ”ARTOTEL,” is prominently displayed above the entrance, surrounded by lights to draw attention. 2. Lobby Area: • The lobby has an industrial-chic design, with exposed pipes on the ceiling and large, retro-style hanging lights. There is a wooden counter with multiple desktop computers, likely serving as a check-in area or a business center for guests. • The signage directs guests to amenities such as laundry and restrooms, indicating a basic yet functional setup. 3. Reception Desk: • The reception area features a vintage-inspired counter with ornate detailing, adding a touch of character to the space. • Behind the counter, shelves are lined with various items, possibly for guest use or sale, contributing to a somewhat cluttered but cozy atmosphere. Overall, the hotel combines functional amenities with a unique, industrial aesthetic, characteristic of a two-star establishment aimed at ambience conscious travelers seeking a bit of style.

Location was walking distance from Longshan Temple metro station. Lots of eateries within walking distance if you are not having breakfast at the hotel. 2 convenience stores within a 1 minute walk from the respective entrances. Swimming pool you had to bring a swimming cap to swim. Otherwise you had to buy 1 from the front desk. The only rule that I had problem with. There were water dispensers on every floor as they don’t provide free bottled water. An organization playing its part to encourage sustainability.

Very impress with the hotel service cleanliness. They also have self service laundry on 6th floor. Lobby receptionist is on the 6th floor but main entrance first floor there is a lift directly to 6th floor. We choose comfort double king size it was actually extra long for 2 adults and 1 child. Just you need to bring extra towel for child. City view is amazing and the room sound proof is good. They have warmer function in toilet room. 350m near to Exit 6 Ximen MRT. 7-11 is few steps ahead. Overall it is very convenient to night market.
