GGuest UserCould not fault this place. We had booked a bigger room, but it was on the main street, so decided not to take the risk. A slight downgrade was organised swiftly. Room very comfortable, with a nice big bathroom. A well equipped gym where I seemed to be the only user. Breakfast passable with toast, fruits, cereal, coffee and baked goods. We extended our stay to 4 nights. The service at the front desk, room servicing, breakfast was exemplary. The room maid left me a lovely book marker as she saw my lonely planet. (btw, LP mentions a restaurant at the start of the bu xing jie; I wouldn't bother).Hotel is 1km west of Tiyuguan metro station on line 2. Line 1 yet to open. Two stations north brings you 400m from Bell Tower Street, a bu xing jie where there are heaps of great eating places. One station north of Tiyuguan, then east as far as possible gets you to the old Taiyuan train station. Buses 308 or 804 (slow trip) gets you to JinCi Si; well worth the trip even just to see a 3,000yo tree

It’s my first time staying at Kempinski. It has a strong old-fashioned atmosphere, which young people may find a bit old-fashioned. But the service and hardware facilities are very good, and the cost-effectiveness of staying in the off-season is very high [heart]
Location: Close to Changfeng Street subway station, about 100 to 200 meters away, and also close to Binhe Expressway, very convenient for driving and public transportation.
Decoration style: It's quite standard. In the eyes of those who like it, it is steady and elegant, and it is the result of years of accumulation. Those who don't like it think it is old-fashioned and has no novelty [laughing and crying]. But the furniture is of high quality, with a bit of old money style.
Hardware facilities: Impeccable, with a gym and swimming pool, all of which are large in size. The room is big enough. I stayed in a deluxe view room. I like the layout very much. There are huge floor-to-ceiling windows, three separate washing areas, and a bathtub next to the window, so you can have a clear view of the night view. The interior is also unambiguous, with electric curtains, smart switches, top-tier brand sanitary ware, wall-mounted toilets and the quality of the toiletries are also online. The most important thing is that the bedding is very comfortable, the mattress and pillow are moderately soft and hard, and I slept soundly [laughing and crying]
Service: This is even better. Free drinks in the minibar, turndown service, cultural and creative gifts when leaving the hotel, all kinds of problems can be handled quickly, the service staff in all parts of the hotel are polite, and the happiest thing is that the room type was upgraded for free [laughing and crying]

Let’s start from the beginning~
After my reservation was successful, a hotel staff called to inquire and added WeChat after asking for permission. There was no interruption after that, and when I asked questions, they responded immediately~
We were traveling by car and were used to parking our cars in the basement. We were surprised. The basement was so clean that the ground looked like a mirror, and the elevator led directly to the lobby~
Entering the lobby, you are immediately greeted by a receptionist. The decoration in the lobby is very grand, and check-in is quick. What is very special is that the hotel has Starbucks coffee service, and I gave you a coffee coupon. The girl who makes the coffee is very cute, and her attitude is like a family member. Makes you feel warm~
The room is large enough and has a practical design, especially the double sinks and the toilet and bath settings, which can be used by the whole family at the same time~
The supplies provided are also rich and include some things you can’t see in ordinary hotels, such as mouthwash, styling spray, etc. Oh, the drinking fountain is great~~
The bedding is very comfortable and the hygiene is very good~ I came back the next day and found out that the person who tidied the room seemed to be a young man named Mu Yurui. Let’s talk about the breakfast. I knew from the reviews that the breakfast in this hotel is very good. But when we went there in person, we were still surprised. It was so rich. In addition to what is available in five-star hotels, there are also many others. , such as lamb chops, soup stock, freshly squeezed juices that I have never seen before, propolis, salmon and other cold cuts, tangerine peel and red bean paste, etc. In short, it is delicious~~~

AAnne-MarieHaving lived in private residence at an overseas Pullman Hotel, this Pullman is different.
Pros:
- Very professional, presentable, helpful, prompt, and well spoken multi-lingual staff at reception and breakfast (staff member Ivo is exemplary of these qualities, also Zhao fengpei (gentlemen on the door who helped me with my bag and the car door), and the gentleman that was by the door at check-in who helped expedite the check-in process).
- Comfy beds and pillows.
- The softest and best bathrobes!
- Yoga mat in the room in a nice touch
Cons:
- A general issue across most hotels is enforcing the non-smoking policy. Unfortunately there was a group of men smoking in the lobby (despite the non-smoking signs), one elevator smelled of cigarette smoke, the a/c seemed to recirculate this smell, and I had to change rooms the second day as the smell of old cigarette smoke was embedded into the pillows and you could smell it every time you walked into the room. Therefore it triggered my asthma. Although they were very busy, I was able to change rooms after the first night.
- Unfortunately the executive lounge was not open and your only other option is the lobby.
- No spa
- Only one restaurant open at night and no room service
- Is in need of more regular general maintenance
Room for improvement:
- While the lounge is unavailable it would be helpful to communicate this to your executive room guests when checking-in or on the booking website which it wasn’t. My husband had to prompt this conversation at check-in. But it was clear there was no set alternative, that is, just go to the lobby lounge and have what you like (no timing, no specifics). This led to confusion for the staff members in the lounge. To save time for staff and the customer, a simple bulleted list on an A4 sheet is what Kempinski do. Perhaps a note on the guests profile or the room number should suffice.
- Slightly envious that the other reviewers were upgraded. We were supposed to be upgraded from the executive room for free as a platinum member but that never happened. However, it was good that Kelly offered the minibar, and some drinks and cakes at the lobby lounge as free.
- Also, our first executive room 1710 was dark, windows were filthy, it was run down and had no Nespresso machine (compared to 1805 which was the same room type but a lot better).

The dining environment is very clean and hygienic, and the dishes are plentiful... The waiter Guo Defeng has been warmly asking what to drink, and he also helped to bring fruits. WWinston-1I booked a suite at Shanxi Hotel. Oh boy, what a stay!!! The hotel looks like a courtyard. The receptionist and the bellboy were all very cordial. They carried my luggage to the room for free. Our room was in another building so they advised us we could check out without coming back to the reception desk again. Just leave the keys in the room. The room was quite spacious with lots of amenities. I am very surprised they offer in-room laundry detergent and electric cloth dryer for hanging clothes. They consider every aspect of my stay and I would give them 5 out of 5 stars.

GGuest UserDuring the May Day holiday, I went to Taiyuan and booked Yuantuo Hotel online. The hotel is in a prime location, right in Liuxiang, with Gulou Street at the door, making shopping very convenient. The hotel hardware is very good, with smart toilets, electric curtains, smart electric kettles, robot delivery, large projection, and the decoration is also very regular. Souvenirs were given when checking in, making the guests feel very warm. The breakfast is very good, with many varieties, Shanxi specialty meals, and good service. The front desk service is enthusiastic and the procedures are fast.
The shortcomings are that there is no toilet in the reception hall on the first floor, which is hard to understand. The beer and fruit plate gift package sent to the room was asked twice, and it was said to be on the fourth floor outside, and it was not found in the end. Since it is free, why not give it to the hotel? The smart toilet and kettle should be posted with instructions for use, and older guests don’t know how to use it. The projection cannot watch live TV, and it is basically paid, and the availability is not high. I called the front desk at 10 o'clock in the evening, but no one answered. I asked the next day, and the front desk said it was impossible. The customer service was also very polite, but I always felt uncomfortable. BBarbaraD.The location to the hotel is really something, but luckily the hotel staff came to pick us up from where the taxi stopped. The room was okay but in terms of cleanliness, there's still a lot to be done especially in the bathroom. If I were staying for longer it would be a problem using the wc but since it was just a night to catch a flight I'm not too mad. The bathroom was spacious enough and the room as well even though there were two beds, which was good. The overall stay was okay, we had to go back into town and the lovely Mr Lee was very helpful, he drove us back to the roadside to get a taxi and when we got back luckily we met him after the map took us to a wrong route and drove us back to the hotel. The airport was about 6 minutes from the hotel and even though we both had different departure times, one early in the morning and myself late afternoon, we were both taken to the airport as well. I think if the road to the hotel is fixed and they can do some real scrubbing and cleaning it would be a really good place.
