We stayed in a cottage in the hotel grounds (of which there were many a bit like centre parcs) so could self-cater but could use the hotel for the swimming pool and breakfast. The cottage was simple but a good layout and had everything we needed. We were a party of 5 and on arrival the sofabed had not been made up for the 5th guest which I found a little disappointing so we had to work out the sofabed and make the bed ourselves but a minor thing. We also didn't have pool towels in our cottage ready for us but they acted on this straight away when we told them. We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel is lovely with nice grounds a woodland walk and a small kids play area. It was myself and 4 children and having the pool was a highlight and the hotel breakfast was really good food every day. The welcome hamper was also a nice surprise.

A lovely location, cosy accommodation but we were very disappointed to have to make upnone of our beds, as this wasn't done. We have travelled extensively domestically and internationally and have never experienced this, particularly from a reputable chain. There was also no iron in the room, or milk for a cup of tea.

Smelly Lodge We stayed for 3 nights over in lodge 418. When we opened the door, a strong smell of spice cooking was present throughout the accommodation. The smell seemed to be mostly coming from the extractor fan, which clearly hadn't been cleaned for a while. However, the smell was so bad that it was present in all rooms, and we could smell it on our clothes when we had come home. No amount of plug in air fresheners, sprays, etc, would cover up the smell. We reported this to reception, who said they'd get housekeeping to have a look into it. I really hope they do for the next people, as it ruined our stay! This was a shame, as the Manor is nice, the pool is great, and the grounds also really nice.

Very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable but needed the furniture updating. Good shower and plenty of hot water. We had an excellent Sunday roast. The other menus were not extensive like the wine list.

Excellent venue for a break or longer holiday. The staff and food were exceptional. Our room had an outdoor terrace with seats and a table. The bathroom was massive with 2 rainfall showers. It was a very relaxing comfortable break and we’d certainly return.

We had a wonderful relaxing mid week break here. We stayed in a superior room with terrace. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. It was wonderful to be able to sit out and relax on our own private patio with views of the garden. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. I have multiple food allergies and restaurant staff were really careful to make sure I felt at ease, and happy to accommodate my needs and adjust the menu to cater for me. We enjoyed using the swimming pool facilities which we booked on arrival, and both had a very pleasant massage that we had pre-booked. The interiors of the hotel are beautifully decorated and well maintained. Overall a very enjoyable stay, and we will definitely be returning.

Back again with a large family. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. We had children, dogs and four generations for fun and home comforts. Nice to be able to have meals with the children in the lodges to make life easy

Had a lovely relaxing weekend away. Hotel staff were attentive and friendly Food was amazing. Our room was large, shower room excellent and clean. Plenty of room to park car. Will definitely be returning.
