the receptionist was not friendly

You can cook in the room, and the pots and tableware are fully equipped. It's suitable for a family who doesn't want to eat out all the time. The hair dryer in the bathroom is a bit old, but overall it's good.

Updated , roomy beautiful hotel beside St Pauls hospital. Close to everything.

clean, walkable and close to downtown and bus stops

We had a generally positive experience here. The property is convenient and in walking distance to many downtown amenities. The room was really spacious. One minor gripe was that the pool was a little cool for the kids, and no hot tub made that harder to tolerate.

Nothing entirely wrong with the room. Room service was missed for 3 days. Cleaning of room was poor as well. Shower ran hot then cold. Staff were nice though and location is fine. Just a bit dated.

Very nice room. Very spacious and well equipped. Full kitchen facilities with full range and all pots and pans, etc. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Location is good, close to Davie St. village, but next door to St Paul's hospital and fire hall one block away. So heard sirens frequently every night. We were on the north side, so exposed to street traffic on Burrard St. A west facing room would be significantly quieter. Also, there was room construction going on everyday, so there was continual hammering, tapping, drilling throughout the day, starting early morning. We were out most of the days, so not bothered by that. Front desk staff are very professional, but not very friendly. Kind of cold. I would still stay here again, knowing now the conditions, and act accordingly.

Construction going on in room right below us so it was noisy. Staff were all wonderful, freshly painted room was nice, 1 bedroom suite nice but a bedroom door would make it better.

We love this hotel and its location. They have updated the rooms since our last stay there. However, we were disappointed with the state of the steam room and showers. It was not as well-kept as it used to be when they had a spa. There was no mist in the steam room and the showers were not clean."

The staff were amazing and deserve all the kudos. However the hotel needs some work. The lobby is beautiful but the hallway on my floor smelled terrible especially after it rained. The walls and elevators are very worn and need upgrading. The bottom of all the room doors look like they are being eaten away by something. Tried to shower twice but the temperatures fluctuated wildly. I didn’t appreciate getting burned one second and frozen the next. The room was as clean as it could be but once again are in desperate need of updating. I will be looking for other accommodations for my next trip to Vancouver I think.
