Visiting friends from Dublin and had planned on a night out at this location. Upon arriving at the door we were advised that the location is "Up Market" and they would not be allowing us to enter. The problem being that I was not wearing what they thought was suitable attire (which for men, is apparently a pair of jeans). The Security guards were less than friendly to say the very least, Telling me that I was wearing what they called "Tracksuit Bottoms", but we're in fact a pair of Linen blend Trousers with upturned hem (Not cuffed) bottoms, Along with an over shirt. My friend, who funnily enough was in a pair of cuffed bottoms, which Im my opinion resembled tracksuit bottoms more-so than my attire, was granted entry and asked to see the bar manager outside where I waited. The bar manager was friendly, and agreed that what I was wearing was in fact not tracksuit bottoms, and the only resemblence they seemed to bear to tracksuit bottoms was the fact there was a drawstring (Which many Chinos and Jeans also have). She told me that in her opinion I was more than suitably dressed and that she would speak to security however never returned. At this point I feel it important to note that passer-bys were approaching me at this stage shocked that I was not allowed in based on what I was wearing because in there opinion was actually "very formal for a casual night out with friends". By now we were still waiting for the manager to return, and asked security if she was coming back to speak with us, The security guard at this point got irrate, attempting to offend me by calling me names and slurs and told me he didn't care what she said and in his words "The buck stops with me". He asked then why would I want to go somewhere like this which is clearly not accepting of "The likes of me" to which I calmly replied "good point" and began to leave the location, being laughed at along the way. We attended 3 seperate locations whilst out that night, including a hotel, & at no point an any other location was my attire deemed unsuitable for entry. This is the first time I have ever been refused entry, anywhere and whilst I understand there may be dress codes, I am of the opinion that I fully met that requirement, as did the manager who spoke with us and many many passer-bys who are regulars at this location . The issue seemed to like solely with security. I did make a phone call that night to the location and asked for a manager, which I was advised would be a "few weeks" before they'd contact me. In 2022 it is such a shame that this still happens in places. I would never (& have never) accused a location of being unfriendly to any community of people, but it was made very clear that this was less about attire, more about aesthetic, and "My Kind" don't fit within that. An all round horrific experience.

To be fair, the hotel information blurb did say that it is a live music venue and open until 2 pm. What they didn’t say is it’s a disco venue with music being played at ridiculously high volume with only a handful of people in the room. I paid €191 euro for the pleasure of a tiny room looking out at a roof with the extractor fan fumes from the restaurant coming through my window which I had to close even though the tiny room was boiling hot (did switch the radiator off)! For that price and no value for money, never again . That said, Wexford is a fantastic town, loved it!!

I was out on a night out for a paid event with a couple of friends including a disabled man (cerebral palsy) in a wheelchair. Staff were very friendly and accommodating when we arrived. Later on in the evening a younger bouncer with lips tattooed onto his neck, arrived for his shift, he was asked by a man his senior to open the door for us as we were escorting our friend in the wheelchair to the toilet, this young man said ‘no, I’m not a door man’ and turned his back to us. Regardless, We had a great time dancing to the band and a couple of glasses were dropped by other dancers on the packed dance floor, I being older than a lot of the other people there, started to pick up the glass and make sure no one was hurt… no harm was done. As the night was getting on, I went to the bar with one of the girls, as I was as the bar, the young bouncer walked up behind us and I could here him shouting ‘get the f out of the way’ I turned and realised he was talking to me and my friend, he was carrying a broken glass saying ‘move now’. The bar was practically empty and he could have went to any part of it.. I kinda laughed it off and as I was walking back after getting my drink I crossed the bouncers path and jokingly said ‘you know it’s just as easy to speak nicely, you don’t have to be rude’ he basically told me to F off. I was shocked at this stage that he was deadly serious and I complained to the more senior bouncer as I was walking back through. My friends went to the toilet and I was standing with my other friend (in the wheelchair) when all of a sudden I was surrounded by bouncers and an intimidating older lady bouncer was in my face telling me the bouncer can speak to me however he likes. I argued that it wasn’t right for him to be so rude to me and what followed was me being grabbed by several bouncers and removed from the premises with my drink I had paid over €10 for being ripped from my hand and the gate closed on me. I had no phone, no way of contacting my friends inside and no idea where our lift was picking us up with their being around 45mins left in the night, I began to panic as I have anxiety disorder and one bouncer said they would get my friends but after 20 minutes no one came (my friends told me they didn’t go in to them) and I had to make my way home which is a 20 mins drive. I found it so intimidating as a woman who doesn’t go out in the area to be manhandled and removed from an event I paid money to attend. The following day I had badly bruised arms. I found the experience so hard to deal with and still get upset when I think about it.

Property and staff were nice. The room overlooked The Crown bar and there is music until 1am on Friday and 2am on Saturday nights. While we knew the bar offered late night music we didn’t realize we would experience that in the room itself. It was as if we were in the bar. There is no soundproofing of the bar or room. Ok if you were out on the town for the night but if looking for an early night that was not an option. Perhaps when there is no music it is a different experience.

The hotel neat, and the room clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. My wife and I felt the area was a little sketchy, but not so much that we felt unsafe. The one thing that made finding the hotel difficult was the fact that it is located in a promenade. Google maps kept sending us down, streets that were not open. Over all though it was a good stay.

Spacious, comfortable room with fun decor. Comfortable bar and 2 lovely resterants in the building. The room was clean but had an odd smell that made spending time in the room unpleasant. Staff made a note of it but couldn't do anything about it since they were booked up.

Excellent hotel with fab Indian restaurant on 1st floor. Would recommend the special which is three mains (smaller dishes) to give lots of choice. Crown bar also great and staff were excellent. Parking costs £5 for 24hrs which is good value and a very short distance to the hotel.
