I have come out of "Review" retirement to share a most awful experience of trying to deal with the management of Tinakilly Country House Hotel. In brief, at a wedding there in early April. Most everything else was fine but there was no hot water in our room on the day of arrival or on the following morning. Only reported it on the following morning before breakfast but was essentially ignored, not even offered any facility to shower before we undertook our 2.5 hour car journey home. It appeared that a full floor of rooms had this problem. We didn't make a fuss so as to ruin the vibe of the wedding party but contacted the hotel subsequently via their webpage, by telephone, by email and formally by letter. No response, not even acknowledgement, received. Failte Ireland contacted the hotel on our behalf but they too were ignored. I wrote a final letter on 19th October and, you guessed it, that was similarly spurned. One would think that such an establishment would engage with customers as readily as they do when they are accepting your money, if only to be appropriately well mannered! It is not surprising that the latest reviews published here are of a negative nature, but the management obviously believe that their customers will accept such behaviours. I certainly will not.
