It was a good hotel, a bit basic, rooms (in the hall part of the hotel) need updating; not sure of the others. The restaurant good. The breakfast was good but a bit busy on one of the days.
The hotel facilities need attention. TV remote not working, the team couldn’t get it fixed easily; not ideal.

The environment is first-class, but the location is a little bit out of the way. Recommend to friends visiting the Cotswolds!

Place is beautiful but the staff is no specially friendly, specially at the bar area. Worst curry ever with overcook, watery rice (re-eat) and for £20 :-(, If the cook cannot do a curry, I will not recommend the main restaurant which is outrageously expensive. The hotel is huge so it will take you 5 walk to get to your room meeting some lost souls on the way. Very disappointed experience.

Poor stay, we’re regulars at Tortworth. The past twice we have been it’s been poor.
Staff are inattentive, always wandering off - leaving you to wait for service.
The rooms are basic, the pillows were in such poor condition. No stuffing in them, mattresses soft & had an awful nights sleep on them. Rooms drab, light solely by lamps. Very run down. We attended the spa, but there were no robes in the room. When checking in to the spa nobody acknowledged us we were just left to get on with it.
Food was mediocre in the library restaurant. Service was slow, menu there really isn’t a lot of choice I struggling to pick something to eat. It will probably be the last time we visit as it was that bad.
Run down & has just lost its special place for us.

Grounds, lobby, restaurant and bar are wonderful but the rooms need completely gutting and refurbishing, they are no longer fit for purpose. Beds are comfy but the bathroom fixtures and fittings are falling apart and the room in general is a truely depressing place to be. Unless I got the worst room in the place.
