I loved this hotel. It is well designed and the staff were very friendly and willing to help. They have a dedicated wechat that you can contact for help during anytime if the day. It was easy to find, not far from the ferry pier and they sent be directions a day before arriving. The hotel was also near to a beach.
The breakfast was fully vegetarian and it was absolutely delicious and well presented .
The room itself was a little small, and the only issue was the shower was in the middle between the basin and the toilet. However there was an issue with my first room and they upgraded me to a better room. This room was bigger and the shower was bigger and also not in the middle. The room was clean and they provide free drinks .
Due to the covid outbreak in Xiamen I was due to stay here six days but only ended up staying 2 nights as I needed to leave Xiamen . The hotel was kind enough to fully refund me the 4 nights I had booked and this was a major plus on their side.
On check out they gave me some water while I was waiting and it was absolutely delicious.
I would recommend this hotel .

Friendly, helpful staff clean rooms and a pleasure for a change to shower with decent water pressure and plenty hot water and be woken up by birds not traffic.
Tailored to local taste but this is understandable considering I was one of maybe three Europeans I saw over the weekend.

If you choose to stay on the island, choose Yangtao Courtyard, it's so comfortable! A big tree covers the entire courtyard. This courtyard is very comfortable. We rested well. The front desk guy was super enthusiastic. He helped with the luggage, told us the story of the courtyard, and gave us a hand-drawn map to introduce us to the surrounding attractions. We chose the twilight tatami, which was very comfortable to sleep on, and the breakfast was also very appetizing. All the services were great. Next time I come, I will choose Yangtao Courtyard~

The location is close to many attractions in the South Island, the room is clean and hygienic, the environment is quiet and the service is good! The B&B is not very close to the pier, about 1 km, because the island is closed to cars, it is not easy to push the luggage.

We arrived at the hotel at 4:30 in the afternoon. As soon as we walked in, we felt that the service of this store was very good. Every staff member was very enthusiastic, especially Yuanzi and Twelve. They were very nice. They also took us to a very delicious barbecue restaurant. They told me that it was opened by people from Xinjiang and it was really delicious. They also shared the word ”fate” with me. If we didn't come here, we wouldn't meet and become friends. Everything is because of our fate. Then we talked a lot while eating barbecue in the barbecue restaurant, which made us feel that this trip to Xiamen was very worthwhile. They were really super enthusiastic. I strongly recommend it. I will definitely come to Xiamen again next time I have the chance. I am very happy to meet these two good friends Yuanzi and Twelve! ! !

The first time i go to xiamen, and decided to book this hotel because of the rating, and turn out it is a good decision! While we have a langguage barrier at other hotel, but here at puyun hotel the staffs are tech savvy (they don't speak english but they also have google translate 😎 and our problems solved quickly). The staffs is also very helpfull as they gave us a free luggage storage for several days because we need to go to gulang yu island. The security man at the front door also very kind with us. Very recommended place to stay for foreign people, especially the location is right at the center of touristy street, at least you need 2 days for exploring this area. It is also close to xiamen wharft, just 750 meter from the hotel or 10 minutes walks.

It is a small hotel on a single floor (L3) but the room is big. The front desk staff helped me to change to a quieter room for free. This location is near many of the main attractions and there's lots of food downstairs. Minus 1 point for cleanliness as I realised that they did not clean below the beds.

I had a great stay at the htoel. The place was spotless, and the reception team, especially Xiao Chen and Xiao Ting, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. When I asked for directions, they not only provided clear guidance but also shared contacts and recommended lots of great places to visit. Highly recommend!

Mr Cheng Li spent a long time to teach me how to download the train app and how to book train tickets. Very kind and patient. Another staff also help me to get a local phone and phone card. Many thanks to all of them.
The only drawback is the location. No convenient shop nearby. No metro. Seafood restaurants are 20mins walk from hotel under the hot sun with no shelter. The Chinese restaurant is Ok but choice rather limited.

GGuest UserYiju Hotel is beyond our expectations. The room was beautifully presented, and the staff there was polite and helpful. The afternoon tea on the rooftop was very memorable, and the staff took family photos for us. He sent them to us by WeChat and printed a few of them out. No effort was spared - on the envelope was a message in English as he realised my husband doesn't speak Chinese. Breakfast was again beautifully presented in the quaint courtyard. They helped us register to see the Baguo Building - we had no idea we have to pre-register. They helped bring our luggage down to town upon check out and gave us a lunch recommendation, which we thoroughly enjoyed. I am truly thankful for the level of service they have extended and I highly recommend this hotel!

It was not only tidy but also well-maintained, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made my stay incredibly comfortable. One of the standout features of my stay was the complimentary laundry service. This thoughtful amenity made my trip even more convenient, allowing me to refresh my wardrobe without any hassle. It’s a fantastic perk, especially for travelers who are on the go or attending conferences.
Additionally, I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast offered at the hotel. The variety and quality of the food were impressive, providing a delightful start to each day.
I also appreciated the gym facilities, which were practical and useful for maintaining my fitness routine while traveling. It had everything I needed for a good workout, making it easy to stay active during my stay.
Another unique aspect of the Mercure Hotel is the innovative use of robots to deliver food orders from ** (*******) directly to your room. This modern touch added a fun and convenient element to my experience, making it easy to enjoy delicious meals without leaving my room.
Lastly, the hotel features a designated space for pick-ups and drop-offs, which was incredibly convenient for my travel arrangements. It made coming and going a breeze, allowing me to focus on my activities without any stress. there are mall nearby within 2KM and it’s so cheap and convenient to just didi anywhere from here. FYI during winter most hotels in china does not have air conditioning, here offer both air conditioning and heater, which is a must for me.
Overall, I highly recommend the Mercure Hotel for anyone visiting Xiamen. The combination of a clean, comfortable room, delicious breakfast, practical gym, innovative delivery service, and excellent amenities like free laundry makes it a top choice for both business and leisure travelers. WWan SuwanThe apartment location is in good environment, going around with taxi is fair enough, however, the building itself doesn't exist on the map, only the neighbor one does, which made us difficult to find the right building when we first arrived, plus we have no idea that the check in room, is one of the room on the 5th floor, as in the address of the hotel, it just put room 501, 521 Gaolin Road, etc. I recommend to give more details to ease the check-in of the hotel description like, 'when arrive, please contact room 501 on the 5th floor to check in', also, the hotel should pin the exact building location on the map, otherwise, guests may get lost on first arrive like us, whereas people around don't speak English to help too.
The apartment itself is clean and in good condition with good space & layout. Facilities are good enough, except, the kitchen is kind of waste because there is no kitchenette at all, they only provide bottle water, glasses/paper cup & electric kettle in the kitchen, in which we expect a hotel apartment should have at least some kitchenette like tableware, cutlery, pot or pan (as they have electric stove) and at least a microwave oven & dishwashing liquid, which partly why we choose to stay in the apartment rather than normal hotel. This is one of the upset issues that we have for this stay.
The breakfast comes as McDonald's breakfast coupon consists of one small Berger & a drink, which is fine as McDonald is on the street level of the building itself.
Plus thing is that we can request for more bottle water & the disposable towel with no additional cost. Although the disposable towel is not so good to use as towel, they are still acceptable & hygienic, so, if you want more comfort, I suggest, bring your own towel. The washer works well, no dryer, but they provide hanger with drying space where there are windows open.
The nearest large shopping center, Wanda Plaza, is nearby, taxi costs only ~CNY10, where you can find lots of restaurants & Walmart, etc.
In overall, this property is good & worth of money.

The double room was too close to the elevator. I was afraid that our children would not be able to sleep well. The boss specially added two big bed rooms I bought two beds and gave Xiang Piaopiao to the children

GGuest UserWhen I write a review, I always put in perspective the price I can paying for and it's competitiness in the country.
1. Cleanliness is good. Housekeeper is friendly and accommodating.
2. Hail a car from airport to hotel cost about Sgd5 and less than Sgd5 from hotel to airport for me. Actual will depend on your App and cars you pick.
3. Hotel location is impeccable with the starting point of Zhongshan Road right below the Hotel.
4. Staff is helpful and friendly.
5. Breakfast is decent for the price. The range is not extensive, but one has to look at the price you are paying for. Coffee maker at Libby makes freshly brewed coffee.
6. There is a little gym for simple workout.
Overall, it is a satisfactory experience and I have no complaints.

GGuest UserFirst of all this is NOT a HOLIDAY INN, indeed the hotel's name is SEP HOLIDAY. However on DIDI and Trip.Com it is listed as HOLIDAY INN. The real HOLIDAY INN is located about 200metres away. So please do not book this hotel if you are looking for a real holiday inn (IHG hotel). Having said that, this hotel does not need to call itself a HOLIDAY INN for you to consider it. We stayed here for seven(7) nights and will stay here again as it is very convenient, clean, provides a decent buffet local breakfast and is in a good location near bus station (50metres away), Metro Line 2 (Cruise Centre station) is across the road 300M away (there is a proper overhead walkway to cross the road, no escalators though) and you can walk to the gulanyu ferry terminal and sea world. It is also on the same side of the road as the start of the Mountain to the Sea Walking trail which is about 500metres away. Short, since the trail itself is 23km. The rooms are decent size (We got a corner unit room 8403 on the 4th floor), attached bathroom with all the amenities for 2 persons with hot shower and cold air conditioning with free cable tv and wifi and lots of power points. It doesnt have a fridge but none was needed. No swimming pool and really a too tiny gym with just a bit of free weights here and there. So don't bother packing your gym or swimming stuff. But if you are looking for a value for money decent and clean place to sleep and to have a cooked breakfast before going out out and about xiamen city for sightseeing, then this hotel is highly recommended. Just forget about the HOLIDAY INN part!

GGuest UserThe staff are polite and nice and the breakfast are very nice, with various type of dishes. . However, the facilities are relatively old. The air conditional function normally, but the room temperature stayed at 25 while we set to 21.

RRika SyI stayed at the 16/F with my elderly mom and she enjoyed her stay. The room was newly refurbished and the view was nice.
The hotel is right next to a big mall and a major shopping street, super convenient. The buffet breakfast featured western and local xiamen style food.
The service was great and the receptionists can speak English. Shoutout to Jerry, thank you for the help my mom needed!

GGuest UserReally grateful for the free airport pickup. Added their number to my wechat and called them using wechat. Was given directions where to be picked up and asked to send a picture of how I look like. waited at the pickup point and even message them at exactly which location I'm at. Received a call later to ask where am I and also messaged me the car plate number. As the pickup point only allow 8mins of wait time, the driver was pretty pissed when I arrived. I mean, couldn't you have sent a picture of the car and the car plate number earlier?
Driver was smoking all the way while driving and I'm unfortunately seated behind him, breathing in all his smelly smoke. He opened his window but that didn't help, the wind has kept blowing the smoke into my face. Luckily it was a short drive. I feel that the hotel should educate their drivers not to smoke while driving. This is so selfish.
I got upgraded to a bigger room because they wanted me to give a good review. My room has a big window with the street view.
Room was clean and nice. Slippers given.
Toilet was badly designed. the shower head faces the toilet bowl and the sewage system is not good. After showering, the toilet flooded. I only realised the next morning that there are some buttons that you can switch on for ventilation in the toilet. The toilet was still flooded in the morning but I think if I have known about the buttons earlier, it would have been dried in the morning. The buttons are in chinese characters. Ask for help to decipher them.
The room has a projector but nothing was watchable. You need to have accounts to sign on to their various content provider.
The hotel is near a small street market with awesome and cheap food. There was also some supermarkets opened late into the night.
Cannot expect much from sound proofing as dead into the night, you can still hear food delivery rider delivering their food to occupants.
The driver in the morning did not smoke but when I told him that nobody asked me which terminal I'm going to, he insisted that it is impossible for them not to ask. I also cannot be bothered to argue. Why would I sabotage my own departure plans? Suggest that before the driver drives off, stressed which terminal you are going to. Terminal 3 for International flights, Terminal 4 for domestic flights. And they are not close to one another apparently.
Otherwise, the bed was quite comfy. The socket above the bedside table is almost falling off the wall.
