"The staff were incredibly friendly and enthusiastic, offering great recommendations for local attractions. The overall atmosphere was wonderful. We loved the convenient location right on Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, which is always bustling with plenty of delicious street food options. A cute gorilla statue in the lobby was a fun touch! It was super convenient to do laundry with washing machines and dryers available. The shower had excellent water pressure, and the room's bedding was soft, comfortable, and spotlessly clean."

"The first hotel we stayed at during our weekend trip was so terrible that we immediately rebooked and chose Niaodao the same evening. The next morning, the guesthouse staff called me to confirm the booking. From the moment I booked until I checked out, the service was truly impeccable. The staff were all incredibly friendly and provided many helpful travel tips. The room was a sea-view room with a fantastic view of Gulangyu Island, and given its orientation, you could even catch the sunset. It was spacious, cozy, and very comfortable – truly satisfying. Its location is excellent, right at the intersection of Zhongshan Road and close to the ferry terminal, making it very convenient for taxis as well. The guesthouse has been around for a while, so there was some minor peeling paint on the walls. It wasn't very noticeable unless you looked closely, but a fresh coat of paint would definitely freshen it up. Being so close to the sea, the bedsheets felt a bit damp when we returned in the evening, but it was manageable with the air conditioning running constantly. In summer, there are quite a few insects, so some attention to pest control would be beneficial."

"Very Disappointing Experience Upon check-in, our room was full of mosquitoes. Even my 3-year-old son asked, “Mama, why so many mosquitoes?” We had to request a room change immediately. During the stay, the service was acceptable until the last night before check-out. We informed the front desk that we would be leaving early the next morning at 6am for our flight, and since our stay included breakfast, we requested for a takeaway option. The front desk noted this down, and even the hotel’s poster in the lift promotes “takeaway breakfast.” However, on the morning of check-out (in the rain), when we asked for our breakfast, the front desk staff told us to go into the kitchen ourselves to collect it. I walked past a dark restaurant into the kitchen, only to be told by the staff there that the breakfast would only be ready at 7am. What is the point of promoting “takeaway breakfast” if it cannot be prepared on time? In the end, we had to buy Burger King at the airport instead. Totally unacceptable for a hotel that advertises this service."

"The hotel's view was absolutely incredible! Our sea-view room featured floor-to-ceiling windows, looking directly out onto Gulangyu Island. With such a magnificent vista from our room, there was no need to even set foot on the island! Just open the curtains, and the entire stunning scenery unfolds before your eyes – it was truly beautiful. The room itself was also super spacious and clean. The double bed was huge, providing a very comfortable stay for our family of three. The hotel's location is fantastic, right behind Ba Shi Market and Zhongshan Road. With a snack street and seafood market nearby, dining and exploring were incredibly convenient – most spots were just a 10-minute walk away. Typhoon Yangliu happened to arrive during our stay, but it was so comfortable at the hotel that we were content to just stay in."

It offers a tranquil escape amidst the hustle and bustle, making it incredibly convenient for daily outings, shopping, and dining. It's also very close to Ba Shi Seafood Market and the pier, making travel a breeze. There's even an underground parking lot available. 2. **Decor Style:** The B&B is quite new. While its exterior showcases Xiamen Zhongshan Road's typical arcade (Qilou) architecture, the interior boasts a charming Nanyang retro style, which I personally loved. 3. **Service:** The staff were all incredibly helpful and attentive. Here are two examples: First, on our initial night, my daughter likely set the AC too low, resulting in a low fever, headache, and chills in the early hours. I asked if they could prepare a traditional remedy: a warm drink with scallion whites, ginger, and red dates. To my surprise, they actually prepared it exactly as I requested! After she drank it, she broke a sweat, and her fever quickly receded. We almost thought our vacation was going to be cut short! The second incident occurred on the morning of our departure: my daughter left her bracelet on the breakfast table. We only realized it after we had already left, so we went back and asked the front desk for assistance. They managed to find it for us. The staff's service was truly exceptional; they were responsive to every request and always went the extra mile. 4. **Breakfast:** While the B&B's breakfast might not compete with a large star-rated hotel, it's generally quite good and offers a decent spread. They cover all the bases, providing a variety of options like Mianxian paste (vermicelli soup), sweet potato porridge, mung bean soup, white fungus soup, soy milk, milk, bread, stir-fried dishes, fried snacks, steamed dim sum, eggs, assorted grains, and fresh fruits. For children, those under 1.2m eat for free, those between 1.2m and 1.4m get half price, and children 1.4m and taller pay full price. 5. The hotel corridors feature unique devices holding tea leaves. I'm not sure if their purpose is mosquito repellent, but it's the first time I've ever encountered such a thing. It struck me as a distinctive local touch, and a rather thoughtful one at that. **PS:** For this B&B, I highly recommend choosing a room with either a terrace or an external balcony. Many rooms have balconies that face an internal atrium or courtyard, which isn't as appealing. I personally saw the difference and decided to upgrade my room on the spot."

"The Puyueju Hotel I chose for this trip has a great location. It's just a few steps away from the subway. The surrounding roads are clearly marked and it's easy to get a taxi, so there's no pressure to travel. It's close to the subway station and convenient for transfers. Whether you're going to the beach or other bustling business districts, you can easily get there, and the travel experience has skyrocketed!"

"When planning my trip to Xiamen, I started my hotel search. After much back-and-forth comparison of many options, I finally settled on Weishang. The cleanliness and overall environment were top-notch. The front desk service was also excellent; when we checked out, one of the staff members even helped us carry our luggage downstairs and load it into our car. What's more, the location offers excellent transport links. Zhongshan Road is right downstairs, and it's very close to Zhonghua City and Tiger City. The bus and metro stations are also not far, just about a 10-minute walk away."

The smart toilet and voice-controlled lighting were a fantastic bonus, adding a touch of modern tech. What's more, every corner, even the often-missed spots, was immaculately clean – I truly couldn't find a single fault. The breakfast spread, while not spectacular, was definitely ample, offering both Western and Chinese options. I particularly enjoyed the freshly prepared noodles and freshly brewed coffee. Should I return to this city, I would definitely prioritize staying here again! I highly recommend it to anyone who values both convenience and comfort."

"Hotel is quite old but generally the room condition is very well-maintained and clean. Staff's attitude is very polite at front desk, room service and cleaning team. The cleaner even gave me a mouse pad when she noticed i didnt have one. Location is awesome, as there is a lot of local foods restaurant and convenient stores within 200M walking reach."

Not a speck of dust, even in the corners. The toiletries were of good quality, the soundproofing was excellent, and it was incredibly quiet at night. The location is super convenient; it's close to many restaurants and shops, and just across the street from Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street. The laundry facilities were also fantastic, with highly efficient LG commercial washing machines and dryers that delivered great results. Overall, the hotel offers exceptional value for money, and the entire experience was absolutely superb!"
