"If you need a layover, this place is okay for a quick stop, but the room facilities are really something else – the water had a very strong chlorine smell. Then, the first room they gave me had an insane number of mosquitoes. After I called them, they switched me to a different room, but that room had absolutely no soundproofing. You could hear people talking next door, and if they were even slightly loud, you could hear everything, even the sound of them running water. I even called the front desk, and they came to talk to the neighbors, but there was still some noise afterwards, which I just had to put up with. The only upside is that they have an airport shuttle and are very close to the airport; the driver can get you there in just a few minutes. That’s probably their only redeeming quality. If soundproofing is important to you, I absolutely do not recommend this hotel because the soundproofing is genuinely, truly terrible. The front desk service was just average, nothing special. While the price wasn't expensive, perhaps because it was off-season, the facilities, including the soundproofing, were really bad."

"It was a basic stay, very basic amenities were there, but for cleaning it was not enough, as everything seems used from previous customer, like they have just arranged it again. Reception and hotel both are basically different buildings altogether (can say it justifies hidden stay). Some cost cutting was there as instead of proper cups , disposable glasses were there. But overall, at the price they are offering justifies it in location like this."

"The room was pretty clean and quiet, with good soundproofing. Breakfast options were a bit limited. We were traveling with seniors and kids, and the hotel's location was great, but the nearby food and drink spots were all quite expensive, which was the most frustrating part! We were too tired, so we ordered takeout to the hotel, and a robot delivered it, which was very convenient! Getting a ride-share or walking to Zhongshan Road from here was also quite easy..."

But this time, the Hampton by Hilton Xiamen City Plaza truly made me look good in front of my client! After checking out, my client specifically gave feedback saying the experience was superb, so I absolutely had to leave a heartfelt five-star review. First off, the location is truly unbeatable. It's right next to City Plaza, and Metro Line 3 is just outside, making trips to the airport and high-speed rail station very quick. This was super convenient for my client's business meetings and seeing partners. My client particularly praised the service, saying the front desk staff were extremely professional and enthusiastic from check-in to check-out, and very efficient. Especially when checking out and pressed for time, the front desk proactively guided them on how to get an electronic invoice, which was processed almost instantly. This kind of efficiency is a huge plus for business travelers. My client also mentioned that the hotel has robot food delivery, which they found quite smart. Furthermore, the room was very comfortable, maintaining Hampton's consistent quality. The mattress was just right—neither too soft nor too hard—ensuring a good night's sleep, and the room was spotlessly clean. My client was also very satisfied with the breakfast, which offered a rich variety, including local Xiamen specialties. All in all, this hospitality experience was very successful. The hotel exceeded my client's expectations in terms of facilities, location, and service. In the future, for any business接待 or travel needs, this will definitely be my top choice! I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Xiamen for business or leisure!"

The family twin room we booked wasn't originally designed as such; it was a king room with an additional small bed. This extra bed made the room feel quite cramped, and the mattress on the small bed was firm, which negatively impacted sleep quality. The room lighting was generally dim, and the lighting design felt outdated. Many areas had insufficient light, making it inconvenient when organizing luggage or looking for items. Regarding the paid breakfast, the staff service was quite attentive, and the food tasted decent, slightly better than what you'd find at an All Seasons hotel. However, for the price point, the variety of dishes was limited, so the value for money wasn't great. There was also a minor oversight where soy sauce and vinegar were mixed up, indicating that attention to detail in management could be improved. The complimentary bottled water provided was Ice Dew, which is commonly found in mid-range hotels, lacking the premium feel expected from a 5-star establishment. Objectively, the hotel's location is good, the staff are friendly, and the hygiene is acceptable. However, the modified room type, lighting, and breakfast significantly lowered the overall experience. Paying 5-star prices, the actual experience fell short. For those planning to book a family twin room, I recommend confirming if it's an original twin room layout before booking, to avoid the modified add-bed rooms. Breakfast can be considered based on your preferences, but the value is average. Overall, it's not uninhabitable, but I hope the hotel can optimize these details to truly live up to its 5-star positioning, which would encourage future stays."

The hotel's location is truly superb. Zhongshan Road is right downstairs, making shopping incredibly convenient. In the evening, sitting on the balcony and watching Gulangyu Island is incredibly relaxing!"
