"Such a great transit hotel. Arrived Xiamen at 10pm and and before that we already contact the hotel through wechat for a pickup service. They pickup us by van which is so convenience since we had 4 big luggages with us. And our flight next morning was easy as well. You can refer their airport transfer schedule & wait at lobby. "Before my trip, I did some online research and found that GreenTree Eastern was the top-rated comfortable hotel on Zhongshan Road, and it's located right on the pedestrian street. Since it was my first time in Xiamen, I wanted to stay somewhere central, so I chose this one. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was very friendly and efficient with the check-in process. They even upgraded me for free to a room with a balcony – it was October in Xiamen, and the refreshing sea breeze felt amazing! It's not far from Gulangyu Island, Putuo Temple, Xiamen University, the Eight Market, and other attractions. The metro station is also close by! Excellent value for money!"

"I got off the plane in the early morning and chose this hotel near the airport, about 20 minutes' walk away. The room was clean and had a washing machine. There were food stalls and snack shops all around. I recommend it to those who like to visit these places. The downside is that the environment nearby is a bit poor."

"I chose this hotel near the airport for the Mayday concert, and the price was an absolute surprise! It's so close to the airport, which was super convenient for catching an early morning flight after the concert. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was fresh and odorless, the A/C worked great, and the soundproofing was surprisingly good – I got such a comfortable rest. The front desk staff was incredibly thoughtful; staying here was both hassle-free and heartwarming."

"I didn't take any photos of the room. We only checked in after 11 PM, and the air conditioning wasn't very cool. I had to ask staff to adjust it before it started blowing cold. The hotel is right by the main road and extremely close to the subway station. However, during the day, you can hear traffic noise, as well as the sound of chairs and tables being dragged in the adjacent room. The hotel facilities are excellent; the availability of a washing machine and dryer is a huge plus. The breakfast selection was a bit limited, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to arrange for a late check-out and free luggage storage in advance, which was very convenient for our trip."

"Really loved the hotel for this trip! The ladies at the front desk were super friendly, and the cleaning staff did a thorough job. The hotel's location is fantastic too – just a five-minute walk to Yanwu Bridge, and you can enjoy continuous sea views on bus route 29. It's also very close to the subway station, a quick walk away. Plus, all the main attractions are nearby. All in all, I'd definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Xiamen!"

"The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of BinBei. Great restaurants and night life around. Very convenient location. The staff was very friendly and spoke very good English. Check in and out was easy.
The only negative point of the experience was the room itself. We reserved as Superior King room, for 514元 (714元 with breakfast for two). The King Room only had a Queen bed. The wallpaper was peeling, the carpets felt old and a little dirty. And the electrical outlets were VERY inconvenient. Only one outlet on the whole bedside wall and it was pretty far away from the bed. So I gave that one to my girlfriend for her phone and I had to plug my phone in on the other side of the room on the desk. I know it’s an old hotel but it’s time to update and renovate the rooms. For the price we paid, the room felt like a bit of a disappointment.
Overall it was a very pleasant experience and the hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location. Just the room left a little to be desired. It was nice to experience such an iconic Xiamen institution but for us, in the future, we’ll stay somewhere else."

"I had a pleasant stay at this hotel! The location is very convenient as well. The hotel is right by the roadside: if you walk to the left and cross one traffic light, you’ll reach Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street; if you walk to the right and cross a traffic light, you’ll arrive at the Eighth Market (Ba Shi). Taking a taxi or didi to the ferry terminal is also easy and quick. It’s a great area for sightseeing.
The hotel staff were warm and friendly. The front desk helping with the parcels were very attentive. The aunty at the noodle station was also lovely, the noodles served in early morning were delicious. The housekeeping aunties kept the room very clean, which made the stay comfortable. Thank you for all the good service!
Overall, it’s great value for money, with a convenient location and friendly service. Highly recommended!"

I can't imagine the wonderful dreams one could have staying in such a beautiful garden guesthouse! The delightful owner hails from Qingdao, Shandong, and has a wonderfully outgoing and passionate personality. 11360195****The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of Gulangyu Island. It's tucked away in a quiet spot but still close to Longtou Road, where all the restaurants are, and attractions like Sunlight Rock and Shuzhuang Garden. We stayed in Building 9, which was very peaceful. It hardly felt like the bustling National Day holiday, but as soon as we stepped out of the hotel, we were met with throngs of people – truly two different worlds! The hotel has a private back exit for guests that leads to a quiet beach with very few people. The kids absolutely loved it, braving the heat and strong sun for over two hours, catching several small crabs.
The hotel used to be a government retreat and is now open to the public. While the facilities and decor are a bit dated, you can tell the original fixtures are still of good quality. The room even came with tea ceremony tools, and the kids had a blast playing tea master – the Dahongpao tea was delicious.
The hotel service is outstanding. They offer exclusive shuttle transfers from the ferry terminal to the hotel when you arrive and depart. If you're heading straight to the ferry after sightseeing, you can arrange a time with the hotel, and they'll deliver your luggage to the terminal, allowing you to enjoy your day worry-free. The staff are also incredibly helpful; knowing the kids wanted to play on the beach, they even brought sand-digging tools. When we encountered a staff member on the road and asked for directions to the beach, he simply walked us all the way there. We genuinely loved this hotel and highly recommend it.

AAnonymous UserA truly satisfying stay! The hotel, a charming century-old house, is nestled right next to Bagua Tower, offering an elegant and peaceful ambiance. The lush greenery in the courtyard, the gentle gurgle of the small fountain, and the interior layout and furnishings all perfectly complement the historic building. The highlight is definitely the small viewing platform on the third-floor terrace, which offers breathtaking panoramic views. The lights across the water and the cruise ships at sea are clearly visible, the vermilion dome of Bagua Tower feels incredibly close, and behind it, the dark silhouette of Sunlight Rock stands tall. It's also very close to the Longtou Road snack street. The three receptionists and the auntie were incredibly warm and attentive; they even upgraded my room for free on the morning of my arrival. The hotel also provides breakfast for guests. The only minor downsides were the lack of a power outlet on the bar counter, meaning I had to boil water by the bedside table, and the washbasin being a bit small, likely to fit the overall layout. These are just minor details, and I would definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Gulangyu.

GGuest UserThis stay was really a pleasant surprise! The location was easy to find, and the housekeeper would call ahead! The surrounding area was very quiet, and I slept very well at night. The room was very carefully decorated, clean and tidy, and the light was very comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were very complete and very convenient to use. The guy at the front desk was very nice and gave a lot of local travel suggestions. He felt like a caring friend. It was a very relaxing stay, and I will choose here again next time!

BBlindSmileThis was my second time staying here, and I chose the Deluxe Suite. The room was spacious, clean, and felt more like a serviced apartment—with a huge sofa that could easily seat 6–8 people, a proper living area, and a comfy king bed that made it easy to get good rest.
The hotel has its own dedicated lobby for drop-off and pick-up, which made arrivals smooth and hassle-free.
Staff were friendly and attentive. I was offered free breakfast, and they even helped with laundry by moving my clothes from the washer to the dryer and placing them at the counter for pickup—just let them know in advance.
The food was great, with a mix of Western and Chinese options that were both delicious and satisfying.
The location is convenient, especially if you're attending events at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, and getting around the area is easy.
Overall, a smooth and enjoyable stay. Everything was handled with care. I’ll definitely be back.

RRam KondaAt first, we were disappointed because they put us into a small room that we felt was not worth the price we paid for. However, the next day they upgraded our room into a nice one with a separate toilet and shower area. There were wide windows and the view was the quiet road below and two small mountains in the distance. Not bad eh! This was the time we started feeling comfortable and relaxed in our 4 nights of stay here. The bed and pillows were firm and very good to sleep in. Good for relaxing after a long day of touring or working. There was a small dining table as well as some space or area to work and put your other stuff. The toilet is fully automated so it was really comfortable to use. The staff in general were accommodating and the female receptionist manning the lobby was always enthusiastic and helpful. On the other hand, location is far from downtown so it might cost you a bit more if you take the didi often. Also, breakfast fare was sparse when we were there, probably because it was still the tourist season. Not sure though but for whatever reason, when we got to the breakfast nook at around 8am, most of the food was gone. We had to wait for about 30 min for some trays to be refilled with food while the rest simply remained empty. If you don’t like local breakfast, then this hotel’s breakfast is not for you. Overall, it was a pleasant stay for us.

It's super close to Zhongshan Road, you can walk right out to explore中华城 (Zhonghuacheng), and it's also very near the beach. It's fantastic to be able to step out and immediately be at a scenic spot when you're traveling. The service is also incredibly good; the front desk staff were warm, patient, and meticulous in helping me with my questions. Highly recommended! I'll definitely stay at Yishang again next time. Awesome!
