DDoudoudoudoudouxiaosuoIt was my first time to Gulangyu Island. When I arrived at the pier, someone would come to pick me up and help me with my luggage. They were very welcoming. I would pass by several must-see attractions on my way to the hotel. The receptionist was also very nice and explained along the way. After arriving at the hotel, we were given an upgraded room type, which allowed us to overlook the sea view of Gulangyu Island. The design style of the entire hotel and the room is very unique. I was too tired to take photos at the hotel. The room type was exactly the same as described in the room type description. What you see is what you get. It was great. Regarding the tour guide of Gulangyu Island, there is a tour map in the hotel. The receptionist was also very detailed in helping to introduce the plan. The overall service was very enthusiastic. It is the best B&B choice for my next visit to Gulangyu Island~

Excellent
AAnonymous UserLocation: This hotel on Gulangyu Island has a great location, right across from Trinity Church. It's less than a 10-minute walk from Sanqiutian Pier.
Ambiance & Hygiene: The room wasn't huge, but it was exquisite, featuring Minnan characteristics and fitting the Wabi-sabi theme.
Service: The service was incredibly thoughtful. They contacted me in advance and even reminded me to book my ferry tickets to the island early as my travel date approached. The detailed map they provided from the pier to the hotel (mostly flat ground) was very clear and easy to follow. After checking in, they also recommended restaurants on Gulangyu, and I could get a complimentary dessert at these recommended restaurants with a picture from the hotel. The hotel also offered free luggage storage near the pier and luggage delivery service.
Food: Breakfast was a mix of buffet and set menu. The vermicelli paste was delicious.

GGuest UserMy personal advice is to choose your accommodation based on your travel itinerary. Since most of our trip wasn't spent on the island, and considering the value for money, we opted to stay in the local area (off the island).
Overall:
The customer service staff (especially the ladies) were very friendly and responsive to any issues. Their service was truly excellent.
Dining: There aren't many dining options in the immediate vicinity. There's a Satay Noodle shop nearby; I didn't get to try it, but it looked promising. I did try the fish congee (porridge), and it was delicious, especially the pan-fried fish that came with it.
A tip for future guests: for food, just stick to the options downstairs or order delivery. Don't bother wandering through the alleys; you'll likely find ordering takeout a much better and more convenient choice.
Lastly, for families with children, consider spending a couple of hours at the mudflats directly opposite. About two hours should be ample time for some fun.
One final point: the soundproofing. The noise from doors closing is quite loud and disruptive. It would be great if this could be improved.

MMiriamZHad a great family vacation stay at Linghai celebrated my son’s birthday in last minute plan with hotel staff recommendation and help. Hotel located about 15 mins walk from ferry station, but definitely worth for the view. Staffs and services are professional, great overall experience including the restaurants hotel thoughtfully recommended to guests for food safety and not getting tourist scams. Highly recommend the place, and would love to go back!

BBenKABI’ll definitely stay in this hotel again next time, if the price is right. I sometimes write reviews, just to get the coins. However, this hotel, I actually want to write a review to show my appreciation. It was an awesome experience. I was lucky to find a suitable price even during the holidays. The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, it felt like a real hotel. Not like some other hotels I’ve experienced. The only thing I can complain about, is that the hotel TVs don’t come equipped with the major platforms such as Tencent to watch good quality movies and series.

WWangyixiaoyuThe hotel lobby is very clean and spacious, offering complimentary drinks and tea. The lobby also has a pleasant aroma.
Check-in at the front desk was very quick. The front desk staff was very enthusiastic, informing us of breakfast times and thoughtfully providing recommendations for nearby attractions.
The room is on the third floor of a standalone villa and features a lovely balcony, perfect for enjoying tea and sunbathing. It's incredibly peaceful.
I highly recommend everyone to stay here!

Very Good
LLiaoliangdejungeI booked this hotel, which cost nearly 900 RMB after discounts, assuming the quality in all aspects would be good, so I didn't inspect the room beforehand. Upon opening the door, the room seemed quite spacious. However, after checking in, I found it to be very mediocre. The toilet was so high that a tall person would almost be standing to use it. The bathroom did have a wet/dry separation, but the renovation quality was just so-so. Again, the toilet was ridiculously high, and it wasn't one of those heated, bidet-style ones. For breakfast, there wasn't much variety; I looked around and didn't find anything I particularly liked, so I ended up just having a bowl of rice noodles. The fruit selection was also limited. Overall, though, the cleanliness was decent. The location is also good; you can see the sea when you step out, and transportation is convenient. There's an underground parking lot, and you can scan a QR code for free parking. Given the high price, I wouldn't recommend staying here at this price point!

MM60676****The hotel's location is excellent, nestled halfway up Xianyue Mountain. It's conveniently located yet quiet, and you can directly access the mountain trails from the park, leading to scenic views along the mountain-sea boardwalk. The facilities are very new, and all the family rooms are on the first floor, boasting beautiful balcony garden views. The breakfast is incredibly abundant. It's also very close to Dongdu Wharf and the Yujian Minnan Wonderland, making it a hotel that offers great value for money.

BBaiMaWangziI traveled to Xiamen during the Chinese spring service with my dog and took a day trip to Kinmen Island, Taiwan, just off the coast.
This hotel was in fact an apartment building with several management companies renting out rooms on various floors. Overall the building was in a horrendous state of disrepair.
Initially, the front desk tried to put me into a room on the sixth floor which looked like a scene from a horror movie... Stains on floor, walls, dirt and garbage everywhere....I asked if this is the same room I booked and another female staff member moved me to the 9 th floor which was at least clean and updated, in the hall. The room was ok, and bed comfortable, but I've never stayed in a hotel that put sheets directly on the mattress without a minimal pad between... Luckily no bed bugs.
The room had 3 out of 8 working lightbulbs so it was very dark. The heater didn't warm up the room even at max level running all day.
Everything was old and dingy... Nothing like the photos
I had no TV or Internet service the first day until I asked for it to be repaired.
Overall, no maintenance is the problem.. But at least the woman at the front desk was helpful and kind
That only real redeeming quality of the room was the view... But the window was so dirty, it was mostly obscured.

IIndrekhThis is the landmark of the Xiamen city. View is superb and neighbourhood is nice with Lot of young people. I booked High Rise apartment but for some reason I got apartment in lover possible level. It’s more than 50 floor high building but I got room in 18th floor. As well room size was
Not like described. I asked non smoking room but got room with smoke smell and ashtray was included. Bed was hard like stone and cinema asked for administrator. Check in needed calling for landlord and without any Chinese skills it may be difficult. As well landlord asked us to register ourselves thru app and it was as well only Chinese. Not easy for foreigners. After my complaint landlord gave another apartment what was in 50th floor and bed was much more softer. Thank you for that. Strange was that normal towels were not included. Instead of normal towels there were some strange disposable towel. Building himself is almost new but some mouldering is visible and that is not nice. As well the windows were a bit dirty.
