The hotel service was excellent, always responsive to our needs and going above and beyond to satisfy guests. No matter the time, they were always quick to assist. The service even started before we arrived on the island; hotel staff contacted us days in advance to confirm our needs during our stay, reminded us about the ferry tickets required for the island, and even helped us book them. After adding the concierge on WeChat, they sent us information about hotel and island activities, and could assist with advance bookings and ticket reservations. Upon arrival, the concierge met us at the pier and helped with our luggage. Any questions we had during our stay were answered instantly via WeChat. When we checked out, they even gave us a souvenir and helped transport our luggage back to the pier. Considering we had a lot of luggage, a staff member specifically accompanied us on the ferry, helping with our bags the entire way. The whole stay felt very warm and reassuring; it’s a hotel full of human touch. The hotel environment is very quiet, with an ecological park next to it. Walking through the park leads to the beach, and the coastline is beautiful and great for walks. A truly excellent stay!

ROSEOur first stop in Xiamen! We booked a Conrad sea-view room voucher that included executive lounge access. Upon check-in, the front desk attendant recommended a larger 'Half Mountain, Half Sea' family room, so we paid extra to upgrade. This included breakfast for two adults and one child, executive privileges, two complimentary teddy bears, a welcome fruit platter, turn-down sweets, and an extra bed. We're very grateful! Although the weather wasn't ideal, the view was still fantastic. It would have been perfect on a sunny day. The service was also good, but I'd suggest improving the food offerings in the executive lounge, haha. The location is super convenient; it's a 7-minute walk to Xiamen University Visitor Center if you turn right downstairs, and a 7-minute walk to the popular Shapowei Instagram wall if you turn left.

This is a very good hotel. It is right next to the shopping mall, so restaurants and coffee shops are everywhere. We really appreciated the friendly front desk staff getting us an upgraded room. It is spacious, cleaned, comfortable, and fully stocked with everything we need. We love their long and cleaned pool. It’s perfect for lap swimmers. Definitely we will recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

Jcccc8Staying at the Novotel Xiamen Central with my pet this time was a perfect experience. This hotel is genuinely pet-friendly, allowing dogs to stay and providing thoughtful arrangements. It's heartwarming not to have to board my pet when traveling anymore. The lobby is filled with various green plants, creating a refreshing and healing forest-like atmosphere. Stepping into the hotel immediately relieved my travel fatigue. The front desk staff were kind and gentle, making check-in quick and efficient, and proactively offering tips for local attractions. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the location was convenient for getting around. Overall, it offers great value for money. I would definitely choose this hotel again when visiting Xiamen with my pet.

Caicai[huaixiao]The front desk lady provided excellent service; it was the most gentle, patient, meticulous, and best service I've ever experienced in any hotel!!!
As soon as we walked in, before even checking in, we were offered several glasses of water. After checking in, she immediately told us about breakfast for the next day with the kids. Our room originally only included breakfast for two, but seeing that we had two children, she immediately extended it to four people. Then, she gave us a Gulangyu map and meticulously explained: where to have fun, where to eat, where to shop, and which beaches were good!! It was incredible!!
She also mentioned free laundry and free drying services!!
My two children were playing with the various small items displayed at the front desk, and she actively engaged with them, introducing the items and even letting them take them back to the room to play with.
The hotel was also very clean. When we asked for two extra sets of toiletries, they were delivered very quickly.
It was just perfect, but I was so busy that I forgot to take photos.

Before coming, I did a lot of comparison and considered many options before settling on this hotel. Firstly, the price was acceptable. I cared more about the floor, so I chose a room above the 50th floor. I was a bit worried about getting a 'hotel blind box' before checking in, but once I did, the room overall was great. The ocean view was fantastic, and the style was simple and elegant, perfectly matching my expectations. Overall, I'd give it a solid thumbs up. I personally really liked it.

Guest UserThis stay truly exceeded my expectations! The hotel thoughtfully arranged a shuttle bus to the concert, and getting back by direct subway was super convenient. Parking right at the hotel entrance was a huge plus, making it completely stress-free. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and helpful, promptly assisting with any issues and showing a wonderful attitude. The convenient laundry room meant I didn't need to pack much for a one or two-day trip, making things easy and hassle-free. The room also came with disposable towels, which felt clean and hygienic and gave me peace of mind. Overall, the environment is comfortable and the amenities are comprehensive. Highly recommend staying here!

Guest UserLe Méridien Xiamen Garden View Balcony King Room Stay Review: A Healing Retreat Amidst a Full House
The sky had already darkened upon arrival. Winding our way up the tree-lined paths of Xian'gueshan Mountain, the air gradually became moist and cool. It felt like a magical escape from the bustling, humid city, into a 'city oasis' nestled in the mountains. The moment I opened the room door after checking in, the fatigue from the journey instantly melted away.
Room | A Mountain Holiday Opened by a Courtyard
The room felt very spacious, with a layout of about 40 square meters that was just right. What surprised me the most, naturally, was the exquisite private balcony. Le Méridien's room types each offer different views, and I chose the garden view balcony room specifically for a quiet, relaxing stay. After all, in a mountain setting surrounded by dense vegetation, a few insects are perfectly normal, and the garden view neatly sidestepped that issue. Opening the window in the morning, the lush green central courtyard came into view. Instead of the city's hustle and bustle, I heard the crisp, pleasant chirping of morning birds and the sweet, fresh air blowing from the mountains. I couldn't help but close my eyes and take several deep breaths. Returning to the room in the evening, I lay on the balcony chair, clearing my mind, sipping an iced cola while enjoying the mountain breeze—this is exactly what a vacation should be like.
The room's hardware can be summed up in two words: solid and reliable. Beyond being clean and tidy, the 'rainforest' shower's stable water pressure and temperature were truly impressive. The hotel also thoughtfully implemented a dry-wet separation in the bathroom, completely eliminating the awkwardness of worrying about splashing the toilet while showering. The experience was very comfortable and smooth. The bedding, as always, maintained Le Méridien's high standards, soft, fluffy, and supportive, allowing me to sleep soundly until I woke up naturally.
Environment | French Romance Hidden in the Mountains
If the guest room brought surprise, then the entire hotel environment was stunning. Le Méridien Xiamen's location is meticulously chosen, nestled charmingly on the mountainside of Xian'gueshan. The overall architectural style leans towards a resort villa, so secluded and tranquil that it doesn't feel like it's in the bustling downtown area of the island. Compared to many coastal hotels that face the humidity and noise of sea winds, the mountain landscape here truly provides another level of spiritual enjoyment. The hotel's artistic atmosphere, from the corridors to the public spaces, everywhere you can feel the unique imprint of French aesthetics. Whether it's the artistic flair of the chandeliers or the fragrance in the lobby, everything constantly reminds me that I'm staying in a stylish Le Méridien. The dense vegetation surrounding the hotel makes it feel like living in a natural oxygen bar. A morning jog in Xian'gueshan Park, enjoying the pleasure of sweating freely in the mountains, is a unique experience that you can never feel in a hotel gym.
Service and Details | Thoughtfulness Hidden in Every Detail
The staff, from the front desk to the concierge, maintained a perfectly measured, welcoming smile. During check-in, the front desk lady patiently asked about my preferences. Knowing that I valued privacy and quiet, she specifically helped arrange a room set apart from other guests on the same floor, handling everything gently and efficiently, which was truly heartwarming. The hotel also provides a free shuttle bus service down the mountain, making it convenient to travel to the Seaworld shopping center and Dongdu Ferry Terminal. On weekends and holidays, there's even a free shuttle bus connecting to popular attractions like Zhongshan Road and Baicheng Beach. One evening, a guest was inconsiderately skipping rope upstairs; after calling the front desk, they responded immediately and resolved the issue quickly! Truly commendable!
Conclusion
On the day of check-out, the morning sun still gently warmed the garden view balcony, as if possessing a magic that made me reluctant to close the door and leave. To be honest, I've stayed in many hotels, but rarely have I felt such a pang of reluctance upon departure as this time. It embodies the entire mountain forest, yet never strays from the human world, truly interpreting the beautiful realm of 'hidden in the bustling city, yet nestled in the mountains.' If you long for a tranquil vacation experience, listening to the wind on the mountainside, then Le Méridien Xiamen's Garden View Balcony King Room is definitely worth unlocking!

Guest UserTitle: Great location and view, but challenging for foreign travelers
Review:
This property is more of an Airbnb-style apartment rental than a traditional hotel. While the location and the view from the room are excellent, there are several points that foreign travelers should be aware of.
Check-in: The front desk counter does not provide room numbers or guidance. You must contact the owner directly via the Trip.com app's call function. Note that the owner does not speak English.
Room Guidance: I was guided to the room by two young men in casual clothes rather than hotel staff. They took photos of my passport and face for registration, but they seemed unfamiliar with the system and struggled for a while.
Facilities: Hot water stopped in the middle of my shower; this might be due to the water heater settings or capacity. Also, the TV is only connected to a Xiaomi internet device, which requires a private account or additional payment to watch anything.
Wi-Fi: I scanned the QR code in the room, but the AP for my room (1906) didn't exist. I eventually managed to connect to the signal for the neighboring room (1907).
Amenities: Only disposable paper towels are provided. I recommend bringing your own towels if you prefer real ones.
Privacy: On the day of checkout, cleaning staff entered my room while I was out for a walk—well before the actual checkout time. I found their cleaning cart left inside my room when I returned.
Summary: It feels like a residential apartment converted into a rental service. It can be quite inconvenient for foreigners due to the unconventional service style. Stay here for the view and location, but be prepared for some DIY-style hurdles.

BaiMaWangziI traveled to Xiamen during the Chinese spring service with my dog and took a day trip to Kinmen Island, Taiwan, just off the coast.
This hotel was in fact an apartment building with several management companies renting out rooms on various floors. Overall the building was in a horrendous state of disrepair.
Initially, the front desk tried to put me into a room on the sixth floor which looked like a scene from a horror movie... Stains on floor, walls, dirt and garbage everywhere....I asked if this is the same room I booked and another female staff member moved me to the 9 th floor which was at least clean and updated, in the hall. The room was ok, and bed comfortable, but I've never stayed in a hotel that put sheets directly on the mattress without a minimal pad between... Luckily no bed bugs.
The room had 3 out of 8 working lightbulbs so it was very dark. The heater didn't warm up the room even at max level running all day.
Everything was old and dingy... Nothing like the photos
I had no TV or Internet service the first day until I asked for it to be repaired.
Overall, no maintenance is the problem.. But at least the woman at the front desk was helpful and kind
That only real redeeming quality of the room was the view... But the window was so dirty, it was mostly obscured.
